Nirvana's Northern Light Feminized + Autoflower Grow

Hey, anyone who is a real grower (2+ years experience) and have had successful yields let me know what strains would be good for a 12/12 light/dark from seed to harvest. I like doing my grows this way I know I could get a better yield if I vegged them for 4 or 5 weeks but I really just want to get some successful harvests under my belt.

Hey bro, I will order White Widow and AK 48 for my next grow too, Nirvana said they were sending me some photoperiod Norhtern Light Fems but shit I want some AK 48 Fems too, I told them but I will be glad to get whatever they send me. I am about to get my loan for college and I am upgrading my lighting system (either 400 or 600 watt hps) and a good grow tent, which I will build myself. I would be glad to grow side by side with you bud, Just let me know when you are starting to germinate your next batch and I will start as well. I should be getting my new lights in a couple of days, my check from school should be here anyday and I am going to continue my grow I am doing now and 12/12 the White Widow and AK 48 as well, should have a good selection of budzzzzz!!!!!

Hey man. I will be expanding the grow room too. I will grow four plants, two white widow and two ak 48. Not sure yet, but I may decide to buy some seeds from Attitude instead of the Nirvana stains. Greenhouse WW is about 45 bucks. They also have strain called El Nino that is the basicaly an improved WW but yeilds more. Might go with that. Serious Seeds ALk47 is 110 bucks! That price is a little steep for me so I'm sure I wont be growing that. I wont grow the WW 12/12 all the way thru. The Nirvana WW is tall slender plant that needs some veg time. If you go flower all the way you will hurt you yield on a already low yielding plant. Just a suggestion. Prob not too bad idea for the AK48.

Not sure when my NL will be finished. I just repotted and their on 12//12 now. I'm guessing 6 to 7 weeks. I see alot of pistol and hair production now so I think they have start budding. If you started 12/12 on your NL, then we should finish at about the same time. Then we can start the WW AK grow.

Just started 12/12 as of this morning. I am starting to see signs like you stated as well.

Very cool man. Sounds like we will finish about the same time. My WW and AK should be here from Nirvana in about a week or so. I'm sure I will grow the Nir. AK, but may pick up a different version of the WW. I'll keep you posted.

Just want to say thanks for the updates on this, my first grow was going to be NLAF. I thought it would make my first a lot easier! I guess I will learn the right way and go with a non AF. Just wanted to shout at ya and hope it all comes together in the end for ya.

Yeah, hopefully i didn't invest 5 weeks if time for no reason, my autos are actually doing just as advertised, my first and eldest plant of the four sisters began flowering at around the late half of the 4th week of the grow. I just hope that the other 3 do as their big sister did and flower on time.

Not sure buddy. Couldn't hurt to ask. My Autos are doing just fine though. I have them on 12/12 (they are about 12" tall) and I added some more Lighting, an additional 70 Watt High Pressure Sodium. Now a combined wattage of 270 Watts for my 4 Autos, they are looking beautiful, Cant wait until they day comes to trim those budddddzzzzzzzz!

Hey Guys just wanted to show an update, my first try at lst also =( only tried it on 2 left the other 2 natural. day 3 of flowering at about a foot tall.

Update: one week later.

On Day 19 with my Nirvana Northern Light autos. All is going well far as I can see. I repotted and started feeding them FoxFarm Big Bloom at 1/2 strength on feeding days. Will be adding a drop of Superthrive soon as well as 1/4 strength Grow Big nutes. Working with Miracle Gro potting soil with time released nutes so just dont want to burn them while still so young. Also doing LST training on a few and switched lighting to 18/6.

Using 2x 400w Metal Halides atm for veg. Will be switching over to 2x 400 hps once they are a month old or start to flower.

On a side note I was just looking at them and 1 of my big buddah automatics is confirmed female.

Hello RIU! Hope all my buds out there (no pun intended) are having successful grows. All four of my Northern Lights are flowering now. Hopefully I didn't receive my NL Fem Autos from the "bad batch" of Autoflowering seeds going around at (notice all but ShortRyder are "out of stock") www.nirvana-shop.com. I can't stress this factor enough, A daily routine lighting schedule really helps with the flowering process on these Northern Light Autoflowers. I switched over to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark, after 2 days of that lighting schedule they started to show preflowers and little white hairs everywhere. I think I may keep the 12/12 lighting schedule or maybe gradually work it up to 14 hours of light and 10 hours of dark. All I can say is all is going great so far, except for a little mistake I made, was messing with my lights and accidently let a hot HPS bulb touch a fan leaf, man that bulb had to be hot because for the little amount of time it was touching the one fan leaf it looks like someone took a flame to it. Oh well, i'm not going to worry over one little fan leaf getting injured. As I said good luck to all my fellow growers out there on RIU! Happy growing and toking! Added another HPS Light, just a 70 Watter. Now I'm at a whopping 270 Watts! Wow! lol Seriously, It does the job until I can afford my either 400, 600, or 1000 Watt HPS. Then I will be able to do some real experimentation!

Added an Emergency Blanket (Reflective material) Border around my grow area. Hopefully this will maximize my 270 Watts of HPS & CFL combination lighting system. Thinking about getting a bigger fan and I don't have to worry about odor control so no carbon filter needed.

Whats up One. I got my WW and AK48 seeds today. Temped to start two of them, but that would mean growing them during a 12/12 cycle. Not sure I want to do that, so I think I will wait until these NL are done. How the buds coming?

That's excellent, They are sending me Northern Lights Fems and AK 48 Fems. Should be here soon. And to update, guess what all four of my NL Fem Autos are flowering as of now. Here is a picture update for everyone. White Hairs on all four plants! I have them on 12/12 lighting schedule now. It actually helped them flower, I wonder if these are really autoflowering seeds we got anyways because I promise after 48 hours of 12/12 light on/off schedule they immediately starting showing preflowers and white curly hairs.


I was pretty wasted when taking these pictures, sorry for the quality. I think I may have done a better job with my phone taking pictures then my digital camera, and it is only a year old. Oh well, I'm pretty sure you can see in some pictures the signs of flowering, The pictures don't do them justice they are really filling out and starting to get "that smell" Next grow will be AK 48... Stay tuned I am going to still finish this grow as well. I am going to go an AK under 12/12 seed to harvest so I can have some bud to smoke on in as little as guess what, you probably got it...48 days! Hence the name AK 48. Happy Growing everyone. Looking good man. I dont think they will be ready for another eight weeks or so. NL has a nine week flowering period.
