Nice and bushy so far, much closer internodal spacing than mine!
Thanks. The oldest ones have tremendous growth underneath. Actually concerns me that they're not a little taller since there's really nowhere for all that grow to go! But, they're all growing about the same, so I assume it's normal and they'll stretch when they get a little older. I'm thinking I should see signs of flowering soon on my oldest, maybe within a few days to a week. Not sure about yours, but mine are smelling REALLY strong already!

Not much to report, just some new pics. My plants all seem to be doing extremely well, at least for a first grow, and under CFLs. I haven't been giving them any nutes at all, just an enzyme product and a silicon product. As they start to flower I'll be adding Dyna Grow - Liquid Bloom, and perhaps molasses since everybody seems to swear by it, but I don't plan to add anything else currently. If I don't maximize potential oh well, I'll just be happy to have 5 healthy plants that finish and produce. If I can get anything close to an Oz out of each plant I'd be stoked, and I'll be happy with anything over 15-20g each. No reason at all why that shouldn't be realistic, but it's still over a month and a half away and a lot can go wrong in that time lol.

They look great so far, I heat stressed mine so at 2 weeks they were much smaller, They went into flower right around day 21 so you should be seeing hairs this next week probably, they develop so fast, its really cool. go easy on the nutes, they are really sensitive.

Thanks for the feedback, and that's a bummer about your plants. I remember someone posting that they were afraid they'd heat stressed their Easy Ryders recently and stunted them, maybe that was you. Mine are still very short, only 2-3 inches tall, but it's amazing how full they are, there's growth everywhere underneath. I definitely let mine get too hot too, into the high 90s and even over 100 a little bit, but not from lack of trying to keep the temps down.

I fianlly had to pull a couple bulbs out of the box to reduce the temps since the fans weren't doing the job, which I hated to do but I felt that a little less light was better than temps around 100 degrees. Been using all 6500K bulbs up to now, but tonight I added a 2700K over my oldest, Sarah, which is at 19 days. I figure she's right on the verge of flowering so it couldn't hurt. As they start to flower I'll transition to almost all 2700K bulbs, but I'll leave at least one or two 6500Ks in there for the duration.

I have a 5th Easy Ryder (Stella) that I've started putting outdoors during the day, and indoors at night to keep with the 20/4 cycle. As soon as my outdoor temps here are consitently around or under 90, I'll put her outside permanently and see how she turns out vs. the 4 I'm growing indoors. I'm also going to grow my Auto Onyx outdoors with her, but it's only about a week old right now so I'm still keeping it indoors.

This isn't my daily update. While taking pics of my oldest girl last night I noticed what I believe are the first hairs, but this is my first rodeo so I welcome independent confirmation from someone who knows. My full update with daily pics will follow.

Sarah started flowering today!!!!!!! Well technically yesterday. Today she has Pistils everywhere and there's no question that she's flowering, whereas 24 hours ago I wasn't 100% sure. Don't mind saying that I'm more than a little excited that my first grow is going so well, and the very first seed I ever attempted to germinate has grown into a healthy, flowering, female plant :). I know I paid a lot more for all fem seeds, but there's still that little bit of apprehension that not all of the seeds might have been fem., or I might have stressed them out at some point and turned them. One of my other Easy Ryders that I planted 5 days Sarah has preflowers already and looks like she's going to flower tomorrow or the next day, so I'm really stoked. My other 3 Easy Ryders are all doing very well, but one or two of them are growing a little slower and small.

Up til now I've just been using PH balanced water from a Brita filter, along with "Hydrozyme"and Dyna-Gro "Pro-Tekt" for healther stronger plants, but no real "nutes". Tomorrow however I'm going to start using Dyna-Gro "Liquid Bloom" 1/2 strength on my 2 plants that are starting to bloom. I've also added a 2700K bulb over each of my two oldest plants, in addition to the existing 6500K bulbs I've been using. I currently have 8 23W bulbs totaling 12,800 Lumens for a 2.25 SF grow box. Consensus seems to be 5000 Lumens per SF for adult plants, so I should be right on target. I'll probably add a couple more bulbs over time for my 2 youngest plants. One of my Easy Ryders (Stella) has been growing half indoors half out for the last week, and I've been overwatering her a little bit, so she's a lighter shade of green. I plan to try and move her outdoors 24/7 in a day or two along with my Auto Onyx that's only about a week old currently. It's late in the year and they won't get as much light as I'd like so the yield won't be as good, but they should do ok. It'll be interesting to compare Stella to my 4 ERs grown indoors entirely.

These are looking great! I'm doing testing on my box, and cannot manage to get it any where below 90. It even gets up to 103!. I've got 4 large computer fans with 2 exhaust and 2 intake. I've go an inline booster fan coming in, but I have a feeling this won't do much for me considering your system is practically open. I initially had 12 bulbs in there, now i'm down to 6, and like you, i don't want to keep lowering my lumens.
What are you average temps up to this point? Because if your plants are thriving in heat, i believe mine will too.

Temps have been a real struggle for me as I've mentioned a few times in this journal. Glad I invested in a good thermometer after about a week of growing or I would have been in real trouble. I started off with 1 23W bulb hanging directly over each plant in an 8" reflector to focus ALL of the light into each plant's pot. I then went to Y adapters in each of the reflectors for 8 23W bulbs total, but temps jumped over 100 (I saw my max was 107 once!). I started using a small room fan blowing into the box and that worked fine to keep temps in the high 80s, but I wanted the box to be self contained so I added a 92mm fan, then a 125mm fan, for a total of about 110-120 CFM, and removed the room fan. Using them as exhausts didn't help me at all, probably because my box is so open, and unfortunately if they were any stronger they'd be blowing my plants big time which would stress them out, so I can't increase my total CFMs and repositioning them wouldn't help.

Now that outdoor temps have gone down dramatically here, I opened the window behind my grow box a little and the cool air has helped a LOT to bring my temps down, enabling me to put 4 bulbs back in and still keep the temps between 85-91 depending on the time of day. Ultimately my temps have been between 85-93 for most of my grow, despite my best attempts to keep them below 85, and as you can see my plants have still thrived. I'm sure they would have done even better with temps in the low 80s, but they're hardy plants. I think the Growzyme and the Silicon solution has helped them to resist the higher temps and strengthen the plant. My advice is to keep your temps at or below 90 if possible, and as long as you do everything else right you should be fine. It might not be ideal, but I can tell you unequivocally from my grow that this strain can handle temps over 85 and still grow very well.

Good luck!

Well my plants are almost all doing fantastic. I had company over this weekend and had to relocate a couple of my plants that aren't growing in my main grow box which only holds 4 plants. Long story short, even though I tested the temps in my new setup and they were around 85, when I checked on it again after the company left 2 days later the temps were over 100 degrees and had probably been around 100 the whole time. The plants were visibly dried out, especially my auto Onyx which was only about 10 days old when I moved it. My Easy Ryder was also dried out somewhat, but it was also burned on the ends of a couple leaves where my lights had somehow moved and were touching the plant. The plants will definitely survive and continue to grow, especially the Easy Ryder. How much it will damage the Onyx remains to be seen :?.

The rest of my plants are thriving, especially Scarlett which exploded about a week ago and started growing about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch a day, and a few days ago easily surpassed Sarah which is 5 days older than Scarlett, and is very healthy herself. My other 2 Easy Ryders in my main box are doing very well too, but they're nowhere near the size of Scarlett which is over 7 inches tall as of this morning. Sarah is 5.5 inches, and the other two are both about 4 inches tall. Scarlett is growing so fast that I'm literally having to move the lights every single day that are hanging over her to keep them from burning her.

ALL of my Easy Ryders have shown their sex, and 4 of them are definitely flowering. I expect Stella will start to flower tomorrow or the next day. I've added more bulbs to my main box, and rotated a lot of the 6500K bulbs for 2700Ks. I currently have 10 23W bulbs in my 2.25 SF box putting out 16000 Lumens (6 2700K, 4 6500K).

It's unbelievable how much these things smell, it's impossible to hide the fact that I'm growing them if anybody comes upstairs. They started to develop a very strong smell after about 2 weeks, but when they started to flower the smell went through the roof and developed a much skunkier aroma. I did purchase a couple of those Fresh2ti CFL bulbs and put them in my box. Those helped a LOT, but they still only removed 60 to 75% of the smell. I think it would help if I moved one of the 2 bulbs into my bedroom and only had 1 bulb in the room where they're growing, especially since the fan is blowing the smell directly into my room, probably before the bulbs have had a chance to really control the smell. As soon as I get a lamp for my room that fits that size bulb I'll test it out and report back.

Without further adieu, here are today's pics. No more taking multiple pics of every plant every day, it's WAY too much effort. I'll try to at least take a group picture of each box every day, and I might even take individual pics but we'll see.
