The Short Bus Beginners Mixed Bag Perpetual Harvest Journal: JTR, GDP, and many more

The weather here finally decided to act like it was summer the last couple days, and the inside of my flower room hit 96 at the peak of the heat today. Fuck that. So I went out and got a real exhaust fan, instead of the booster fan I've been using. 435 cfm, sounds like a wind tunnel, should do the trick. The temp in my room dropped 10 degrees when I turned this thing on!

I'm bored and stoned, taking pictures of my weed again. Still Mystery Purps, although at this point I'm pretty sure it's GDP. Damn kids, not knowing the lineage on their product...

So I guess my clones heard me bitching about their slow start, cuz today there were roots on 1 OG and 3 or 4 JRs. Also, 1 of my JRs that I'd moved from the cloner to the humidome did something really freaky. Peep chicken.

Roots all the way up to the first node. Weird, right? Here's a few shots of the rooted OG and JRs in the cloner.

And my Super Skunk. She's had roots for a few days now.

Not much else to report. Moved a few JRs to the tray and threw some newly cut GDPs in the cloner, plus a Mendo and a Sour Grape. Also threw some GDPs in the tray. Cloning is fun!

Not much happening here. The new transplant are good, established and starting to grow quickly. My GDPs are finally starting to look like cannabis plants, although they aren't growing as fast as the first set did. Hm. Anyhow, here's a yellow grow room shot. Didn't see much point in dragging these out for a photoshoot.

Next week, the GDPs get transplanted and moved into flower. Since I only have five of these for this cycle (shitty planning), I'll probably transplant them up to 2 or 3 gallon containers to get some size out of em.

The first row of plants I put in the flower room are starting to look real promising. The Blue Cheese in particular is a beast! She took to the fim real well and has multiple cola sites, shown here.

Not too shabby, huh? Here's a look at my Super Skunk.

GDPs

Jack the Ripper

The Jack really FIMs well, when I get it right. Out of the four younger Jacks in the flower room, 2 took the FIM and threw out 4 or 5 tops. The 2 that didn't take, I'm tying down as they're leggy as hell and only 1 week into the stretch. Finally, here's the Casey Jones.

That'll about do it for this week. Next weekend's a cycling weekend, so I'll be swapping, planting and shuffling once again. Stay tuned, stay stoney. :bigjoint:

for sure man! I'm a fan of not having to click on those thumbnails anyway so it works out best for both of us:)

If my cloner-babies' roots got much longer, it would have gotten tough to plant them without breaking the roots and shocking the poor little things. Eventually I'm gonna go hydro, but for now I'm sticking with dirt. Dirtless dirt. Anyway.

I prep the container. Dirt should be soaked, drainage should be prime, and the hole should be a little deeper than the depth of the clones roots.

I pull em out of the cloner.

I pull em out of the cup and the party hat.

Then I hold the clone centered in the prepared hole. If the roots are too long for the container, I gently spin the clone in the hole so the roots wrap the perimeter of the hole.

Grab a handfull of your favorite medium and lightly sprinkle in while holding the clone carefully in place, so the soil fills in around the roots and supports them.

Give it a little pat-down and water it in.

And you end up with a happy little vegling like this.

At this point, I put the clone in a less-than-fully-lit spot in my veg room and let it get pretty dry to harden it off. After that, they're good to go until your next rotation, at which point they should be ready to transplant. I'd like to thank my lovely wife for taking pics and my little OG Kush for posing for them. And for popping roots. Finally. ;-)

First, my hands got sticky handling the stems on this beast, whcih has never even seen a flower room. I cannot wait to run a full crop of this shit! joC, I know you know what I'm talking about! All geeking out aside, here's a few pic of how I fill my areo-cloner. It's pretty simple compared to the whole RW/rooting stuff/pray-for-no-rot thing. I just drop the cuttings into some phed water with a little B1 and BioRoot, same as in the cloner, and leave em floating until I'm ready to put em in cups.

All set. That brings the current cloner population to 1 Sour Grape, 4 Grandaddy Purps and 11 OG Kush, which takes from 2-3 weeks to root. I'm kinda psyched on where I'm at. To review: 2 rotations in flower, 1 @ 3w 12/12 and 1 @ 1w. 3 Rotations in veg, 1 to go into flower this weekend, 9/4, 1 to go into flower in 3 weeks, and 1 to go into flower in 5 weeks. Mad clones, mostly Jack the Ripper, GDP and OG Kush, with a few randoms here and there. The factory is open. :leaf::hump:
