Really how would they know that we are growing? If they don't know we're doing it they can't tax us

That's exactly what I mean, but instead of being legal and having that peace of mind you will become illegal, and subject to the repercussions thereof.

but i see the point also voting no on prop 19 because if it goes thew the government will reek the benefits instead of us
The whole point behind Prop 19 is for the government to get a piece of the pie, fortunately it is a very big pie and I don't think it will have any immediate effect on growers. Voting no on Prop 19 is not going to change the price of weed, if anything it might drive the price of medical grade up. When I go to the liquor store I have a choice of buying a 30pk of Keystone Light for $13 or a 12 pack of Karl Strauss Endless Summer Nights for $16, I love Endless Summer Nights blonde ale and I would easily pick 12 of those for more than the price I would pay for 30 of that other shit.

Except thrust all MMJ growers into murky legal-terrain. Read the bill, it's craftily written.

This Act is not intended to affect the application or enforcement of the following state laws relating to public health and safety or protection of children and others: Health and Safety Code sections 11357 [relating to possession on school grounds]; 11361 [relating to minors as amended herein]; 11379.6 [relating to chemical production]; 11532 relating to loitering to commit a crime or acts not authorized by law]; Vehicle Code section 23152 [relating to driving while under the influence]; Penal Code section 272 [relating contributing to the delinquency of a minor]; nor any law prohibiting use of controlled substances in the workplace or by specific persons whose jobs involve public safety.

I should have been more specific, I meant financially, it should have no immediate effect on growers.

True...I just hate to think what will become of a national model by following the CA one... It's similiar to the effect of the 30's when Dow Chemical decided to take hemp out of business...Same tactics.

Just for clarification, it was DU PONT, not DOW, that was involved with W.R. Hearst, and Anslinger back in the 30's.
I'm a 71 year old "criminal/outlaw" grower by federal and state definitions. I refuse to get involved in the "Medical Marijuana" hoax that is going on in my state. I grow cannabis for my own "pleasure" and consume it at MY discretion, NOT as an "allowed", "prescribed" medication. I do this discreetly now, and will continue to do so AFTER Nov. 2, regardless of which way the vote goes.
No one is going to get to MY grow with the tape measure and tax calculator. In short, NOTHING will change for for me, I'll still be smoking some excellent home-grown for around $30/40 per ounce, with a little to sell off to cover costs.
It seems to me that an awful lot of folks have various agenda for NOT wanting prop 19 to pass, and coming up with some pretty specious arguments to bolster their positions. I would just like to see CA lead the way and repeal the "improper" prohibition of cannabis production & consumption. Good luck & good grow.......BB

just because proposition 19 goes through does not mean marijuana will be legal yet. A proposition is essentially a "head count" to see how many people would like it legalized. Once the proposition gets voted through then all the politicians need to come up with regulations and taxes etc and then vote those through... it can still take years to be 100% legal without having to to go through the bullshit of getting a medicinal card.

Also top of the line marijuana still takes lots of care to make. Thats not something that can be mass produced. Think of an organic farm vs a food factory. Which would you rather eat? The organic of course and you pay more for it. Same will go for weed. I dont think the price would go down as much as people would think.

But in the end... Who really gives a fuck. The more open marijuana is the happier and happier people will be. And a world like that is a world id like to live in.

then why vote yes to tax and regulate if you don't want to be taxed and regulated? ;)
Maybe so those who are currently involved commercially, and making big untaxed bucks, will have to "citizen-up" and start paying their fair share. As said before, I have NO concerns about the "Pot Patch Police" coming at my little 15/18 annual grow with tape measure and tax calculator. No doubt in my mind that there are SOME folks who may have a little more to "sweat" about if 19 passes.
Good luck & good grow.......BB
