Hey husalife I'm about to start some shrooms in a day or two. Just need a pressure cooker.

Man I used ph 7.2 water and in the 7th week of flowering my soil ph dropped to 5 I nearly lost all of em.

I guess my main question is......How do you change your ph in soil without repotting the entire plant in ph correct soil..

Adding lime or sulphur would raise or lower your ph but how much would you add to lower how much or vise versa....

seems to me you would end up with either very acidy or alkaliney soil and be in a constant battle to keep it right.

I added lime and flushed with high ph water. The whole ph alkaline ratings are a little confusing to begin with. The only thing I can think is the type of soil I used shoulda had some lime in it from the beginning. I think my nutes were the cause of the ph drop. I think with lime in the mix early then add a little in flowering and I won't have to worry about ever again. Thats my new plan anyway.

Damn I'm using that soil so I'm glad I got the ph tester! Should be in any day now, so I should just test the tap water that I've been using and the runoff and those should both be between 6.5-7ph correct? It sounds like a PITA messing with ph but I guess it has to be done sometimes..

What do you guys think, ready to top or start lst? I'm still deciding of what methods to try, one on each or just do both on both plants..

I really want to get topping and cloning down so I can move on to some good genetics!

hey treeZ, looks good, if you remember, i did both on new bean the last grow. take a look at my 2 new girls and you'll see the difference in topping, the one on the left i topped twice and missed, the one on the right i did twice also and nailed it, LoL. no LST this time tho, not enough room for 2 plants in the box to do that.

Yea I do remember cd, I can definitely tell the difference in the topping. Any tips so I don't miss lol.. I've read through uncle bens topping and I would like to try to get the 4 main colas.. Isn't it right under the second node that you cut? I'm still a little confused at where to cut.

They are in other cups you just cant see it from the top view. Root growth is looking good.

ok, heres everything i have for topping, the 4 pics with fim in the name were someone elses way that i got off here i believe which is how i did mine. the other pics are of new bean and then some of my new grow, notice the ones of 2-2, i topped and then retopped which turned out great so far. oh heres the link to topping or fim that i used.

Yeah I just did this morning. I never heard of Kannabia seeds before. I watched the video on the Attitude website and the breeder said he worked at Mr Nice Seeds before going to Kannabia. Got a pack of 3 fem Easy Ryders. Was gonna go with Lowryder 2 or Diesel Ryder, but Easy Ryder is suppose to finish in 7 weeks as opposed to 8-9 weeks with the other two, so I went with them. They were really expensive, almost $40 even with the 10% code, so I hope it's worth it. But with the 3 free promo seeds and the Magus Motivation, it actually wasn't that bad. No stealth shipping or anything like that, just the DVD case, so it came to like $50 total for 7 seeds.

I'm probably gonna order today because I just realized they already sold out of the 2 main ones I wanted from the pick and mix... Barneys farm, lsd and vanilla kush...

I'm leaning toward the g-13 labs or Barneys farm for now, I'll let you know when I make the order.

Yea I was doing some reading last night and apparently Mr. Nice guy has great genetics so I would expect the same from kannabia!! Lets hope so. I'm actually planning on trying out mr nice guy in the near future!!

Not sure if I'll do the dvd case. I was debating on just getting the shirt my first time but for 10 extra I'm not sure what to do lol.. Its just nice having the garantee but I would rather not spend the extra money right now.\

Nice pics chain, I'm going to attempt that later today. On a side note, i got my ph tester in that you guys recommended. My tap water was @ 8.2 with the big bloom added!! How bad is this for my plants and obviously I need to lower it, lime or vinegar do the trick so I've read.. I also tested the rain water and its right around 7.5 I think it was... I havent had a chance to test the runoff yet but do you guys think lowering my ph will make a difference in growth? How bad is it to have a higher ph like 8.2 when watering soil?

I have a Milwaukee ph meter too. Wasnt too expensive and works good so far.
The thing with a ph meter is never let the tip dry out. keep storage solution in the cap. Keeps it wet and good to go.

I used those drops and they are good as long as your nutrients do not tint the water. When it does it throws off the color in the test.

Edit, I just answered my own question.. Another 10 bucks for the solution lol I'm assuming its worth it if yours is still working..? Also I just used my Ph tester so is it going to dry up because I don't have the solution yet? When you fill up the cap does it leak out if you lay it on its side? I'm wondering now if I should just keep a little water stored in the cap so it doesn't dry out..

Edit again lol, Did some more reading and apparently it is very important to store it in the solution. From what I was reading it would be better to store it in tap water than to leave it dry. I guess for now I will leave it in the ph7 buffer solution that it came with to callibrate until I get the good stuff.

Another interesting thing I learned was to test the ph in soil with this tester, you do 2 parts soil 1 part water and mix it up.. Sound about right? Might have to give this a try to see what it looks like.

sorry to intrude mate but could you help me... my lights was 2inch away now at 4ish im first time grower aswel... as you can see the tips are near vertical and there a dirty pale green colour..

Its hard to say, maybe heat stress? I'm assuming your using cfl's? If so how many? Whats the temp, humidity and soil?

2x 36watt daylight got few more if needed....temps are about 30/32 currently runnin 20/4 but gave her extra hour of dark this morning... very new grower tho... standard soil from b&q got two fans running 120mm and 100mm p.c fans not fixxed in properly just sort of hanging... my other is doing fine tho... i think lol cheers for the help

No problem, glad to help with whatever I can. I'm a new grower aswell, learning more everyday.

Where do you have the fans at? Both exhaust? Thats actually about where my temps are at on the higher side, but I think I'm having a little bit of a heat issues aswell. Leaves Curling at the tip... Lights where about 1" away from canopy maybe closer.. I know they weren't touching though.
Another thing thats important that I'm starting to realize now is water.. What type of water are you using and have you checked the ph?

I don't know much about soil mixtures or your specific soil but It doesn't look like there's any perlite in the pic.. That soil might be retaining water if thats the case so be careful not to overwater, I've heard its better to underwater then overwater. Try to find what works best for you. If anything in a week or 2 transplant into bigger containers and use at least 20% perlite.

Edit. Lmao dvd cases are great for getting the cups closer arn't they!?

Appreciate this mate... the fans are just hanging at the moment will be fixing them on tomoz, wats better u think 1 exhaust n 1 intake or both exhuast... there is perlite in the pots about 10% but just none nearer the top will this be a problem?? im using tap water at the min but was thinking about mineral water, good idea???

Either heat stress or nute burn have you fed em any nutes. Maybe MG soil. Usually the leaves tend to curl when theres high heat.
