yeah thats right, remember that block of white stuff mum used to keep in the fridge? used most famously in the chocolate crackle i guess.

by the way i ended up getting 99.9% pure fat ghee, straight off the supermarket shelf. awesome! in case anyones unaware, ghee is the product of heating normal butter, scraping off the foamy milk fat and straining it. you're left with a much clearer product with a much higher smoking point. anyway i'll see how it turns out

yeah i wasn't aware of the use in indian food til i started reading about how to make it. thanks india! if ninjas experience with copha chocolate crackles is anything to go by i reckon that's be worth a try next time

anyone have any ideas on cooking time? im simmering in slow cooker on low, up to about 6 hrs but been reading a heap of posts saying no more than 4 hrs? but then some say at least 24 hrs...i dont know what to believe...

Hey guys and girls,

Just confirming, for ballasts do you need special leads for them from the wall to the actual ballast?

With the tent im making ill have my light and ballast obviously in the tent with the light on a pully system so i can easily raise and lower it. Ill plug the ballast into a power board which will be fixed inside the tent. This means that if i lower the light to much it won't yank shit out the wall. The power board will also feed the power for the little heater i plan to chuck in there (~600w for memory) and a small fan, not to mention my fluros on the side for added light for those lower leaves. The power board will then need an extension lead to the wall socket.

Is this to much for one circuit/board/etc or should it all be hunky dory?

no you dont need a special lead from the ballast to the wall...this would mean you'd need a special wall socket too...only the light fixture has a different fitting, mostly to stop people plugging other devices into the ballast and burning the house down. i personally would keep all my electrics external. for safety and heat reasons. most circuits in houses have a 10 amp fuse. amps is a measure of current flow. wattage is a measure of power. power= voltage x amps. the power will be the maximum demand for your system. for example you have lamp (600w) + fans (say 100w max) + aircon (1000W) = 1700W. current flow (amps) = power/voltage = 1700W/240V = about 7.1 amps. therefore the fuse wont blow. this is my basic understanding of electricity anyway.

haha yer after i posted it kinda hit me that it would be odd to need a special chord. Just threw me off seeing extension leads on hydro sites certified for Ballast. Atm the whole lot will be going into a circuit with something like 20x54watt fluros (in a shed) so that plus a little pedastol fan + 400watt ballast + ~600watt heater.

Sitting here smoking cones my man... I've also got to take some cuttings and clean out the Aerocloner... :-( Little bit of work to do... I've also got to refit the new system, take the air conditioner out of my tent, vaccuum it, re set the pot system back up, re configure the electricals, chain the screen to the floor, shit I've got heaps to do.... And there's still the matter of the cleaning of the last system... I've also got to move my 400 watter into my mother tent and shut my prevegg tent down for now, there's nothing going on in there anymore, I found the females I need so I'm chucking the rest away...:-(

ive just found the best drink! cheap liquer $12 + cheap butterscotch $12 mix them together and shot it down, the after taste is insane.well my bag seed seems to be germin good , i got about 40 seeds looks like 20 are good to be planted 2morrow ...cant wait

im more blind
you should get some store bought soil and use some from your back garden (like you were)
put them in different pots and see if some of your problems were with the soil

yeah for sure ime also going to put some in a few jiffy pellets , coco and some in rockwool just so i can narrow things down.
