Aussie Growers Thread

ive always thought, with fluoro tubes, theres no significant difference between the grow type and typical everyday home type. i mean i bought my tubes from bunnings. for veg i got 2 twin fixture fluoros each with a warm and cool tube. im eventually gonna trade them up for an MH light but theyre working wonders for me in veg

hmmmm i think there is a difference if you look at the spectrum they throw out. Grows tend to have dual spectrum where they throw out red and blue (and all the rest but thats the peak)
White (cool) tend to throw out more blue (hence the more blue-white colour)
Yellow (warm) tend to throw out more yellow.

So i guess based off that grow lights would be good for both (yet dont contain enough lumans for weed) whilst white is better for veg and yellow for flower. That said fluero in general is pretty weak lol

yea that sounds true, particularly the part where u say fluoro is weak...reason why i said, when it comes to growing, i dont see a particular difference its gonna make in progress compared to a good MH light...

when i say it works wonders for me in veg, its done just that and just gets me by...but i like good and fast progress, as would anyone (especially in this game) being the reason im definitely, eventually goin with MH

That said i appreciate the numbers there. TO me i need to be able to picture things....20-30mm a day is quite significant id say. As for MH if i could afford one right now i would!!!

@dpmymrs although they weak they still relate to HPS and MH in some ways. MH= blue for growth while HPS is red for flower. So blue tubes for growth and yellow for flower. Thats how i see it anyway

yeah it's not expensive to get the basics, and if you can't afford the basics you should probably wait - i started out with a 400w hps and some basic nutes and built from there. you can get one of those for under 200 dollars, esp on ebay.

i miss this thread and what it was!! all it takes is one unstable person to keep comin back and pretending to be other people and most of us end up going fine, MEH, have the thread then lol
