From what I can tell, the leaves are getting that canoe look, and thats usually caused from excess heat from your lights/room and thats probably why the ph is getting all wacked out.

I would throw a decent oscillating fan in there, and somehow reduce your ambient temps. 83 is taking the temps to the limits, especially if your not running Co2.

Good luck :)

closet would you care to share what you know on rusting? is that a sign of ph lockout? I was getting it in two of my plants , a very small amount and stopped after i flushed but do you believe that was the problem? or do you think it was a result of a deficiency?

That sounds like slight nuteburn.. from excess food.

By flushing, it should make things better.

If i seen some pics, I could tell for sure..post a few :)

The Air pots along with the Jacks classic 20-20-20 is a Hit!!! :bigjoint:

Have you sampled the NL yet?

My buddy used to grow it, very powerful stuff and it tastes like candy
I used to grow it all the time back in the day, and had to take a break, and lost the plants due to some time off.

I do remember how good it tasted, and the high kept me real mellow.. normal im very hyper.. good couch lock strain.

I have one flowering right now, so in about 3 weeks Ill be sampling..heehee!

Once them roots hit the water, they take off! As ya know :)

heres my girls , my camera phone ... which is all i have at the moment wont zoom in ont he brown spots. the spots didnt get any bigger but yellowed a littl ebit around the brown. they plants are smaller than they should be small cause a) i didnt transplant them early enough the first time. b) they lost almost a week to lock up issues. i still got a lot of learning to do. im thinking about doing a coco drip system for my next time and then after that switching to dwc or aero. you think thats better than just diving in?

I would continue what your doing now, and start one or two bubbler plants on the side so that you get the feel of hydro..

Its really pretty easy, except if your like me without a controller bucket, and do each bucket individually..

Can be a headache dealing with 5 foot tree's.. especially removing the lids to replenish nutes and checking ph.

I dont ever wanna go through this again... 3 foot plants would be ok , but dealing with these Huge girls is a pain in the ass.

i dunno , i guess depends on what you consider pros and cons. The medium is inert and doesnt hold nutrients. So essentially its kind of like growing hydroponically because you are controlling what the plant gets and what doesnt.

pros are

it can be more forgiving than soil if you need to flush
you can regulate nutes at all times
for someone who knows what they are doing , you get bigger yields from coco than you would from the same soil grow. ummm.

cons
have to water to run off
drys out quicker than soil
theres a simple way to measure ec by just measuring runoff , but the proper way is a 5 step 24 hour process.
known for fluctuating up on the ph and for its cal mag issues. lol.

theres a few.

i did it because it was cheap hydro like on the first time around. i like it so far.
