dont spray 3 weeks proir to havest. make your weed taste bad.
Next time you should add another fan in the room.
If you heat the room with a small heater your humidity wont be that much of a problem. When the lights are off. This will avoid the cost and wattage of a dehum.
Pick all the leafs off that have mildew to avoid spreading it.
Look into a sulfur burner.

ok, so think i have got the powdery mildew as low as i can. it looks like if could have infected about a 1/4 pound total in the room. but im hoping to pull of another pound of good bud. we shall see.

johnny,
I have not tried the milk yet, im nervous about using anything prior to harvest. im going to harvest in two days, so i just sprayed them with high ph water, and let them sit by the fan for about five minutes per plant to prevent to much moisture from getting in between the buds.

so the plan is to harvest what i can, and then get that room cleaned out and sterilized. start over from scratch, and get nice and dialed for the next 21 plants that should be ready to go in a few weeks. i have been flushing for a little over a week to two weeks. so if anything tastes like poo, im sure its cause of the mildew of products used to prevent it.
cross your fingers. lets see what happens.
Yeah I agree I never spray mid or late into flower.Mr smileyface hit it right on the money, you cover all the basic like he mentioned and you will have more success.
CVBUD glad to hear you could salvage some of your meds.don't forget like smiley mentioned put fans on them to air.I have one large one on 24/7 and another that comes on when the light is one to always keep GOOD air movement.

Actually it can hurt ya, it moves the heat around inside the flowering area. Best bet and most efficient air/heat/odor remover on the market is a blower. I also use fans directly under the plants blowing up the entire time the lights are on. I have (1) 4" fan aiming up for every two plants. They help keep o2 pockets from forming under the canopy as well as directing heat back up away from the canopy.

good to know. thank you sir! i checked out your grow. very nice and very cool. i ditn see any of the fans you where talking about though. but i do understanding your reasoning behind them. my fans are just simple oscilating fans. one low on the back wall, one high on the back wall, and one sitting in the middle of the garden. i set my de humidifier very low yesterday to try and start pulling all the moisture out before i harvest. im probably going to wait till thursday to harvest.

Wind BURN,Just keep good movement in the room,I only put strong wind on plants when trying to strengthen up the branches but yeah never to much or to strong of wind directly on the leaves and no direct cold air on leaves will close stomata ,I know such a fine line sometimes.

Everyone Thanks for your input helping CVBUD,We are trying my friend

My Fan setup nothing special but works great.

From a member on another site name is got humbolt?

Mildew isn't "cured".
Its systemic, which means once your plants have it... they got it for life. You can manage it and keep it from running wild through your garden, but thats about it.
Sulfur burners, Neem oil, high pH'd water sprayed on leaves, or a 10% baking soda solution can help get rid of it or manage it.
Think of Powdery mildew as being like a virus, that rears its ugly head when the plants are stressed or are not healthy....

I have had this in the problem in the past I have controlled it with humidity not letting my temps change alot for day and nite,B-52 or your brand B vitamins in water and foliar(slightly higher ph) and manually wipe of the mildew using Jorges Bible and the NET as a reference.SORRY to hear always a learning experience.I still have this problem when I use the black/brown Clone dome cubes any time you slightly over water the damn powder shows up so with coco I can just dry the shit out of it and BAM gone also I make sure my plants are always healthy to fight of unwanted diseases and viruses.B-52 with bud candy and big bud help me with stress or Blackstrap unsulfured molasses

Plants love molasses.. in fact, I just started using molasses recently. I started using it on the grow before this.. and the one before that one. So, for the past three grows, I've been using molasses throughout the entire life of each plant. Def. can tell a little bit of a difference when using it.

Peace.

I agree, love the stuff BUT stay away from it the last 4 to 5 weeks of flowering due to the high (because molasses (average NPK 1-0-5) contains potash, sulfur, and many trace minerals, it can serve as a nutritious soil amendment. Molasses is also an excellent chelating agent.)Potassium taste nasty in your meds plus not easy to leach out once you have used 3weeks pryor to harvest.other than that it is goodness for the plants.

After using is and not at late Flower I can taste a slight harshness (harsh coughing/roughness of smoke similar to using potassium bicarbinate late into flower)versus a smoother kinder smoke that enters your lungs

johnny you da man.

what exactly does molasses have that the plants love so much? Sense Its so sugary, im guessing that maybe its a replacement for Sugar daddy oand other sweeteners? i use sugar daddy because its part of the Technaflora program im on. i think i would like to switch to Advanced though. im a huge fan of Reno The Uraban grower. He seems to love the stuff, and every room he looks at uses it. Man there are some sweet looking buds on that show. i have nugs about the size of those old Mini Nurf Footballs. his show lets you look at nugs the size of NFL footballs. that sounds pretty sweet to me.

I just got back from the room. everything looking pretty good and ready for the harvest this week. im a little nervous about the taste. so i might wait a week longer on the majority of the room. but four of the plants in their are more than ready. plus spreading the harvest out a little might keep me from getting back pain from all the clipping. jaja.

Molasses= Carb, this feeds all the kick ass little guys you have in your medium(life)Beneficial bacteria, microbs, fungi need food and bacteria LOVES sugars(carbs)helps grow big and strong(believe it of not if you pay close attention to your plants needs its not much different then what humans needs just all little less of this nutrients or a little more of this B vitamin also plants like 5.8 to 6.8 ph and human 9.0 to 10.0 ph (our DNA needs a HIGH ALKALI state to reproduce).hence such poor hell we have such an acidic diet in our society and in our atmosphere really hard for your system to fight all disease in such conditions EXAMPLE: if you feed your leaves shit loads of oxygen almost no co2 on leaves and your roots shit loads of CO2 and little oxygen on roots we will see that it will not live long and if it does it will have several symptoms and disease in it later life, exactly what humans are introduced to and exact opposite of this proper conditions for your cells to thrive.JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
KICK ASS BY THE WAY on your success so far.

ok, so here is the newest info. the good news is i have some pics of the plants i harvested yesterday and today. the bad news is...............these are the plants that are 25-100% covered in powdery mildew.

is there anything i can do with this? hash? teensers? make butter with it? or is all this worthless.

im pretty bummed out. but here are a few facts that i should have said "no" to early on.

1. not real healthy clones from a friend
2. the clones mothers had a stressful life, and powdery mildew
3. clones from clones that i dont know anything about their history
4. first grow ever in my life
5. five different strans

i think thats five things that should not have happened if i wanted a better more stress free first time grow.

the other good news is that the pics of the plants still in the flower room are virtually PM free. and the mother thats been in for a 3 weeks now is kicking ass. obviously it has PM. but im a little more up to speed on the ordeal, and more prepared to deal with it.

Thanks again for everyone's input and support. this has been an amazingly educational first grow. and i really hope to learn from my mistakes and make my grows better and better.
