Ghosts, Spirits and Poltergeists

I don't know what apparitions are but Ive witnessed a few. Do you guys think the younger we are the more susceptible we are to it? ?

Yes we are, we are more open minded, non judgemental and children, we are dumbed down over time. Flouride is in the water, which deposits in the penial gland in the brain, and impairs your third eye.

Damn I'm glad I have a skeptical mind. None of that stuff scares me at all. Complete freedom.

It doesn't scared me, all I want is the truth, people are easy to riddicule you. There's no such things as ghosts and all that bullshit, all I can say to people like that is open your eyes to the bigger picture :)

hey all, i dunno if any of these really compare to any of your experiences, but ive had a couple of interesting moments over the past 10 years or so... all of which have occurred in my room...

on many occasions ive had a bright white streak across the ceiling at night, and i always have the curtains closed in there, and no devices in my room flash, it happens really quickly and happens fairly regularly, like probably about ten times a year...

ive also heard loud bangs and thumps coming from the crawl space in my walls, but we do not have any rats or anything so that was a bit curious... however im willing to write that off as maybe expansion/contraction due to temperature, or swelling and movement of the clay the house is built on due to rain etc...

but the third experience, which scared the shit out of me (as i was just getting to sleep) was when i was in about yr 9 and my school bag "fell" out of my cupboard one night... the reason the word fell is in inverted commas is because when i went to pick it up it was about 3 meters away from the cupboard, and was only a foot off the ground when it was in it...

those are some really interesting examples! the one with the lights, i've seen that too. i have no idea what causes it but i do wonder if theres an explanation regarding eyesight. i know that when you have a problem with your eyes you can see bright lights...so im not sure. and with the crawl space having sounds...a lot of times, if you have spirits in your home, they'll reside in places that arent "high traffic" areas...like crawl spaces, attics, etc. and that last one with your school bag is really interesting! like an actual physical manipulation...thats good stuff :D

i always wondered about this one time when the glass lid to a frying pan shattered. it was in the sink with the other clean dishes and it was sitting on the top of the other dishes. i was in the living room watching tv and all of a sudden heard this loud crashing sound...the lid completely shattered...into TONS of tiny little pieces. i have no idea how that would have happened...to just randomly shatter into tiny pieces...but i wouldnt be surprised if there was a proper explanation for it. they'd been sitting there for a while too, because everything was dry..

hmm that is interesting about the pan lid, i mean, normally i try to find logic with anything that happens unexplainably, but sometimes theres things that are unexplainable.

i had a mate who told me how his mother found a kids toy dinosaur in their back yard when they 1st moved into theyre place... so they sat it on the shelf in the kitchen... about 6 months later they woke to the smoke alarm going off cand could smell burnt plastic but couldnt find the cause... then the next day they found the toy dinosaur on the floor of the kitchen partially melted and burnt, they also claim to have found doors and windows that they left closed open in the morning, and also claimed to have heard footsteps up and down their hallway on various occasions... as they were a strict catholic family they did not have such an open mind to these happenings and in the end they ended up moving out after a year due to it.

I've never honestly SEEN anything, I think maybe Im just too stuck on my own perception of physical things, but there have been a few experiences that still creep me to the core.

I was at my best buds house, stayed there every weekend and usually even after school. One night, after a rigurous day of xbox and guitar, i was casually walking into the kitchen for a drink. As soon as i passed into the kitchen i INSTANTLY felt my body temperature drop. Cold chills, hair standing up, slight shakyness. I Stood for a few seconds, mostly in shock, but i looked around, and nothing. I called to my friend who came in there, and without saying anything to him before hand, he instantly stopped right beside me, he looked terrified.

Im not saying there was something there, but usually when it comes to paranormal stuff, i feel tears in my eyes, like i want to cry. I dont know why, but i feel like the unnatural is a very powerful unknown source, and I honestly fear it, like I fear God. Its just something we cant control and i think that by further investigating it, (taking it mainstream into tv) is a little scary for me, seems like we are going to piss something off sooner or later lol. But i do enjoy watching things like Monsterquest, not that they ever find anything, but I guess its just another thing to think about. I would say i even believe in sasquatch, just because of the number of sightings, and because my youth pastor, who i give tons of credibility, says he has seen one.

Keep tokin!!

Does the fact that this kind of stuff happens less to atheists/nonbelievers mean anything to anyone?

Why would that be? Someone answer that for me.

It could also be the other way around though. Maybe the people are atheists/nonbelievers because they never had any of those experiences, or have them a lot less.

After coming to the conclusion long ago that there was no god...or at least not a god like I was taught by others, I could have been considered an atheist for a short time. Then I had many experiences, came to conclusions, and realized myself that there is more.

These days, from what Ive seen the people who are more enlightened or trying to become enlightened I think thats the different phases you have to go through. 1 is your raised a christian, or just simply some religion that believes in a god, 2 is that you start to think for yourself and doubt that, 3 is you dont believe there is a god at least the way you were taught and become an atheist/nonbeliever, and 4 is that you start thinking for yourself even more and either have some experiences or simply realize that there could be or really is more out there. I dont know what 5 or the next 'steps' or 'phases' would be but I would guess it would be really learning the truth.

I'm not religious, I think it happens to me because I was never told that there's no such things as ghosts, and if people did tell me, I already believed because all this stuff started at a young age. My Mum recently told me she used to do astral projection, so may be it could be inherited???

Philly - I would say i'm on that 4th phase, I plan on meditating regularly in the near future as I've always thought deep and seen deeper. Any tips?

An inherited perception/ style of intelligence is quite likely. Many members of my mothers family in the past were either Spiritualists or Philosphers. I imagine the ability to see beyond all that is obvious is either genetic, or passed down from a parents interests/experiences.

When I was younger I remember seeing 'ghosts', even a cat, rather strangely, was often walking the halls of my old house. It was a cold home, the first day we moved in, my father opened the door to the cellar as I stood next to him. I somehow fell, as if being pushed down the stone steps and landed by a giant rusted nail. I still have its scar about
5cm above my eye, my brow ridges having saved me, it was no random occurence. Noises were regular and oddities effected most who came indoors. Nobody has ever settled there, I still live nearby and see the house for sale once or twice every year.

Anybody here experienced a 'time change'? I've had 2!
Once I visited a friendly yet strange, wooden interiored stone shop which we had never seen before (the shop, not the building). The shopkeeper took a sort of proud interest of me and charged near nothing for the rocks. I left with my fossil and stones, yet the shop was gone the next day, nobody had ever seen such a place being there!

Another time, I was walking our old pet dog by a nearby ruined castle, lots of people in 'real costume' were walking around, carrying out daily duties as if it were a day in history. Several of whom we assumed were role-players acknowledged us as we walked through the grounds, but on returning just minutes later from the next field, the place was deserted as normal!

I would like to point out, as it's been mentioned, I've have countless UFO and related bizzare experiences, but I don't generally class them together with ghosts etc. If anybody wants to know more about these experiences, Ill tell.

yes. i've experienced little time changes here and there, but there is one major one that sticks out in my head...i just typed up this experience in another thread like, yesterday lol. so i'll just copy/paste it into here.

one of the times really bugged me out. i remember every vivid little detail, it really weired me out. i was getting ready for bed. i went from my room to the kitchen, i had to put away ice cream, the kitchen clock said 12:25. my bedroom clock was 3 minutes slow, so it would have been 12:22 there. i went back in my room and laid in bed...i spent a couple minutes trying to get comfortable, but it was too hot in my room so i decided to go lay on the couch in the living room. so i went out there, and tried to get comfortable out there...but the ceiling fan was making a ton of squeaky noise. i laid out there for about 10 minutes, maybe 15. definitely more than 5 minutes though, i was out there a while. but when i finally gave up trying to get comfortable on the couch, and went back to my bed, my clock in my room said 12:24. so according to my clock it had only been 2 mins since i put my ice cream away. but i spent at least 2-5 in my room before i even went out to the living room to try the couch...it screwed me right up. oh and i wanted to mention as well that i checked both clocks, just to be sure that my clock hadnt just glitched or something.

Hey guys this is actually my first post (I know kinda a random place to for a first post lol) buy anyways I have had a ghost experience so here it is:

When I was 13 I visited New Orleans (supposedly one of the most haunted cities in the US) with my Mom, Stepdad, and Brother. We we're staying at a very nice hotel that was built in the late 1800's and we got a room on the top floor of the hotel. The lady at the front desk told us that they we're doing renovations on the other rooms on that floor so we had it to ourselves.

I was walking down Bourbon Street with my brother the first night we got there and being that I was only 13 it was too crazy on the streets for me so I told my brother that I was going back to the room to practice a magic trick I had bought earlier that day. I made it back to the room and my mom and step-dad were also out exploring the city so I was alone.

I was sitting on the bed practicing away and watching tv when I heard what sounded like doors opening and slamming shut very fast out in the hallway so I jumped up and looked outside my door but there was nothing there. (The only doors near where the sound came was an old closet that had a soda and candy machine inside). After that I was a little on edge because I saw nobody outside but I thought nothing of it. Only a few minutes later the light above the door in our room started to go out for a second then back on. I kept doing this as I sat watching beginning to wonder what was happening. Then again I heard the doors slam in the hallway. At this point I was a little on edge but I stayed put. But when the bulb for the reading light next to the bed blew out I couldn't take anymore so I got up and ran to the elevator and back out into the streets to find my family.

We talked to some of the employee's after that and they said that stuff like that has been reported before and that they had experiences themselves. I know I didn't see anything but this poltergeist wanted to make his presence clear and I know that the things that happened to me were not just random string of events.

And how high were you at the time?

Nah, lapses in time are very unnusual, it often happens to me too, where I definatley know I've been occupied far longer than any displayed time. Time is a strange thing, constant but variable. Good to hear Sarah. I should probably start a seperate thread about time shifts, rather than blocking up this one.

Yeah Wild I would like to hear more about those experiences, I had a few UFO sightings myself. The other experiences you talked about are pretty interesting, and also xboxwarrior. I had a lot of time changes myself in the past. Some going back and others ahead, then other times it goes slower or faster. I heard its really common in the bermuda and dragon triangles, I researched those a while back and saw a few programs on them. It does happen more often when Im high on something, especially really high. I remember one of the first times I got really high I looked at the clock and the seconds took forever to go by, the changes in perception and how I felt was pretty amazing.

I would recommend more deep thoughts and meditation. Also research on these topics is good too but remember to not believe everything you read blindly. Ive been really busy lately but Im planning on continuing to get further in astral projection. I think if I keep going I can get into some more universal knowledge, also theres a lot of obvious and also a lot of hidden messages in dreams Ive been having lately. I still havent gotten all that far in meditation myself except for realizing things Im doing in the physical world and learning ways to fix them.

I dont think its inherited for me because as far as I know my mom and dad were never into that stuff or interested at all, I dont know my dad too well though. I noticed that theyre very into the physical world, not religious or spiritual at all. I tried explaining or discussing this stuff with my mom numerous times and she always has no idea what Im talking about and looks at me as if Im talking a different language.
