It is however ridiculous to falsely say that CC is man made when we have NO proof of that at all... We havent been around long enough to know that for fact.
Ummm, duh. We will never have 'proof' that makes this theory 'fact'
What we already do have is a mountain of evidence to support the theory that climate change is, at least in part, caused by the activities of humans.
When faced with two competing theories, such as 'climate change is at least partially man made' and 'climate change is not man made, but rather a conspiracy designed to take my money', I look at the evidence in favor of each theory. Neither theory can ever be proven fact, but one theory may have loads of evidence in its favor while the other one doesn't. In this case, 97% of those who know best favor the former theory, not the latter.
Also, when faced with uncertainty about what we know, I also tend to look at the consequences of divergent courses of action. And in this case, it would be infinitely more devastating to do nothing and find out 97% of those who know best were correct, rather than to do something and find out that they were wrong.
And ho said anything about writing blank checks? Why not be proactive and lead the way in sustainable energy? We can make more jobs here at home and export the technology to coutries like India and China. Sustainable energy, the type that weens us off our dependence on foreign oil, is a good idea whether you believe in MMCC or not. Uness you like the idea of doing nothing and slapping yourself upon the forehead once gas hits $12 a gallon and we are buying our alternative energy resources from China
