I'd tell Homeboy (imelda marcos) ta stuff them shoes in their boxes and cram'em under the bed, that's a lot of wasted grow space.

Soo I got curious today and took a lower side branch (not really lower because of an amazingly even canopy, but one of the smaller ones). Tried a quick dry and it was a fail. Drying the rest properly right now. Have to admit, bud smells like straight molasses (I hate the smell) and was a very smooth tasting smoke, high was kinda weird though.

Cool shit, friends using a waterfarm. I'm gonna show him yours. If you don't mind me asking, did you add an air stone at the bottom?
don't mind you asking at all. i added a 2" inch (maybe 2-1/2 - 3") round airstone to the bottom of the reservoir. i had a HOSS of an air pump, like 60-120 gallon pump, it looked like club soda in the tank . pretty good decision i'd say. i'm growing in soil now though, that harvest is from soil.

Ohh, any reason why you switched?

After thinking about the bucket set up I think this would work well; http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=127112
simple. i like dirt. makes sense. thats how it grows in nature, so why not?
mainly for experience. ease of growing. water it, feed it when it looks like it needs.
none of this pH, TDS, EC, mL/L blah blah blah.

just easier. also, i was growing CFL. the slower rate of growth in soil is better suited for CFL growing (i only recently went HPS).

TL : DR

1-Simplicity of soil
2-Works better with CFL (IMO)

Growing in hydroponics(water set-up) will get you great fruit but growing soil can get you the growth. With that being said hydroponics itself is still a relativly new process. I myself love soil setups and have been mixing my own personal soil since the begining and I believe I'm close to knowing the perfect mix.... If any grower can really say that.

my thoughts on the pros of soil/hydro...

hydro - bigger yields
soil - bigger flavors/aroma

thats why i prefer soil, in my experience, hydro has more rapid growth due to the massive root development they achieve.
soil though, growing it with what it "finds in nature", maintaining a healthy soil will give you the most aromatic and flavorful buds. i maintain soil, not plants

just realized i been smoking and i'm rambling Lemon Skunk scissor hash bongsmilie
