So ive been using a 600 watt hps with a digital ballast with a 200 watt blower. and this 800 watts is bringing me from baseline to tier 3... anyone else have this problem?
from? wwhatits went from $0.12 kwh (0-100% = baseline usage) to $0.38 kwh (300-400%) just by the addition of this ballast and blower.
because of the 800 or so extra watts, it makes the bill jump up to average of $350/month...
i think if you re-read what you wrote you wouldnt know what you were talking about either, but hold on, im going to and maybe then ill rememberDAMN bro where you live...the more i use the cheaper it gets...per kwh not that my bill gets cheaper...

it is only on for 12 on / 12 off. the blower and the light are on simultaneouslyhow many hours is it on each day? it certainly doesnt seem right. im deciding between a 1000 and 600 right now, does anyone else have their elctric bill close by? id like to here more examples!
i used to use a magnetic 250 and it didnt scratch my bill but i added the 600w an it only went up 25 bucks on its 18hr stage so id say something is upwow. we're im at its .10 kwh. i havent hooked up my 600watter yet, but i did this formula to figure out the cost, and i got 35-40 extra bucks a month during its 18hr stage.
but thats an awful jump...if other people have experienced the same...then please do tell....
ouch that hurts.i used to use a magnetic 250 and it didnt scratch my bill but i added the 600w an it only went up 25 bucks on its 18hr stage so id say something is up
that sounds like a good idea, but if you look at my set up, the blower pulls air in directly from the rear left side, and pushes it through the hood and directly straight out. the blower is minimally disturbing the air inside.you should leave the blower on all 24 hours to keep the stale air moving out and fresh coming in. its just as important at night.
also definately look into this, ill bet thats 2 bills combined.
cant kill the fan or the temps reach >100 with in and hour or two. its too much of a pain to figure out the when to turn the blower on.off. temps generally 55-75 '+/-' 3 degrees with the blower being on only when the light is.I would kill the fan. I will only run it until the room cool down a bit and let the heat rises for a bit. Could be someone else stealing your electricity?
yea i know that. its cuz california electrical is fucked up and retarded "-idiocracy". here they go by your last year's bill and they create a number with that and call that 100%, and if you use 200% of what you used the previous year, the tier goes up to 300% and the percentage that you use equals your current price @ that percentage.hey wiggles!! let me guess......your in cali right!!?? from what i here the electric system gading curve is fuk'd up over there!! in most states the charge buy the Kw and thats it not on how much Kw you use so if its .09 a Kw thats what most pay no matter HOW MUCH they use but in cali it is on a scale!! kinda fuk'd up!!!
with the price of the 5min timers and the pge bill, i cant afford that timer right now lol. unfortunatelythe only advice i think i can give bro is shut the rest of the house COMPLETELY down!! power off the pc completely and all the other lil doogy doppers!! and maybe play with a rheastat on the fan and get 'er down to bout 80-100 watts and see what the temps are like or put it on a 5 min on and 5 off timer !!
