Hi, I know this is off topic but worth a shot...
I have this job working as a tutor at my college in MA (I know weird for this site lol) but anyways they said for me to fill out time sheets and pass them into payroll to get paid and that's the way itw as explained to me. Just recently the woman who works as my coordinator said that I have too many hours for the work I've been doing (a total of 37 hours going back to december, big deal) and she said that they're going to hold my paycheck and further timesheets until tehy start verifying my hours.
I do have stuff to backup the hours that I documented but I didn't know the legal implications of something like this can someone help me out with this? I looked it up online nad looked at the department of labor and didn't find much other than some vague statements saying that they can't hold a last paycheck.
