4100k vegging

Your best bet is to use 5000k...much better growth. I currently use 1 6500K, and 3 5000K. During my last grow I used 7 5000K and 3 6500K during veg, and 5 5000K, and 5 3000k during flowering.

my verilux 40 watt 4 ft. tubes punch my girls in the mouth and MAKES them grow!! 6250k cri=94.5 2480 lumens

youre plants dont absorb much light at all from that part of the spectrum, go for 5500k and up for veg

Tell that to a grower that uses HPS throughout his grow.

The higher spectrums will help your plant have tighter nodes, whereas lower make the plant stretch a bit, but using enough light is the important part. Some growers will use there HPS from start to finish, although i wouldn't. It's already proven that using a higher spectrum during your flowering will actually produce up to 30% more tricome production, and lower spectrums make bigger buds...a good balance and you can get the best of both worlds. When i grew for $$$ i used dual arc bulbs that have a 600W MH and a 400W HPS in one bulb. They were expensive, around $300 a bulb, but i wouldn't have used anything else.

I tried a small closet grow w/ 4 4100k t8 Utubes (34 watt) and didnt have much luck.sloooow growth & tight nodes but the plants were not happy,swapped 2 over to 5000k and saw them explode-more growth in 5 days than the previous month

yea the lights got are in the right part of the spectrum, but not 4100k - lower will stretch them yea, but only cus theyre reaching for more and better light, its a natural response because theyre trying to do more photosynthesis
basically im not tryin to be a dick but higher and lower dont always mean any bit higher or lower, its the higher area of the spectrum and the lower
-personally i mix red/blue spectrum (2700k and 5500k)

im not sayin that the higher the better! i was just stating that mine have the best/ better of both worlds with a high CRI rating AND good kelv's!! thats all

On my other lights the 4100k I replaced 1/2 with new 6500k and switched my light with 2x 4100k because I guess in real life they get a percentage of everything. I use the same on my peppers with the T8's

Plants absorb red and blue light, both are used to control photosynthesis and various aspects of plant growth. Red light (6000 to 7000 angstroms) mainly controls maturation, and flower and seed production; it is particularly important to flowering plants. Used alone, red light will make plants grow tall and spindly. Blue light (4000 to 5000 angstroms) chiefly controls leaf development; plants grown under blue light alone tend to be short and stocky, with thick stems, dark green leaves and few flowers. Ultraviolet rays are used only in small quantities and can easily damage plants.

i used 4100k cfl for my veg and flower (some 2700k also for flower) check my sig for the grow its almost a month flowering now

What buddhabud is trying to say is that the light spectrum of around 4100 is the least productive for plants. Its the spectrum of color that is most useless for photosynthesis, the green/yellow/white light. Plants can live under that kind of light, but they will not thrive. Especially mj, it'll grow like a weed just about anywhere anyhow, but it won't necessarily thrive and give you dank nugs.

To the OP: try not to use those 4100k lights. Maybe temporarily if you had to, or for mixed lighting, but if you can help it, use 5500k or higher.

Ah thx for clarifying...i couldn't understand...lol.

I been growing 24 years, and i was only telling the science facts, and thought he was trying to say that i was wrong. I know what lights to use, done severasl experiments with flouro's.
