My setup

just finished wireing it up and putting the panels on. Still have to paint, mount the top and one side, exhaust it and run the intakes but for now here it is.

Top switch controls the veg lights, 5 - 85 watt 5000K CFL. a total of 425 watts and 25,000 lumens. the second switch controls the flowering lights (top and sides) a total of 18 - 30 watt and 4- 85 watt 2700K CFL. A total of 880 watts and 56,000 Lumens.

A total of 1320 watts of CFL. the box took some time to construct but i needed a project this winter and im a perfectionist. The last time i had a grow was ten years ago and i was such a noob. this time around i want to do it right, space is a concern also the heat. A total of 25 Cubic Feet of space and two 4" exhaust at 159 CFM should exchange the air 5 times an hour. One picture shows the exhaust fan attached to my hot water vent going through my roof.

Anything im missing? suggestions? I know about halides and HPS systems, im going for CFL if its not obvious.

Thanks

Looks sweet...that is exactly what I was going to do before I got legal. I am running a CFL set up now and it is great...however once these ladys are done I am going to HPS...Either it looks great! Are you going to put any kind of reflective material in that beast?

paint it....
I got some bag seeds, i think im going to experiment. Im thinking a low profile DWC system? All i have is 32"" to the top lights, 16" wide (between bulbs) and 24" deep. I thought i was going to have enough room but this is tight.

dwc takes up alot of room height wise. A rubber maid is like 18" and your plant 12" can go to three times that height.to finish up..depending of course on the way its grown

I guess you could go low profile if u wanted too... just curious what are the temps when that things lit up?

Im sure it will do fine once i get the exhaust hooked up, air exchanged 5 times an hour for roughly 977 BTU/HR is pretty good. I bought a rubbermaid that is 24 inches long 17 inches wide and 6" tall. just going to do two plants and see what happens. Check it out.

light and roots don't mix 8( Krylon makes a paint called fusion for plastic. just have to sand it a bit. It'll work with enough airstones im sure...
it should be fun cant wait to see the end results.

cfls are best used side ways
you are wasting the top ones
nice idea +rep for the effort
spray paint the tub or cover with duct tape
and paint or mylar the wall , hell even foil it anything is better then unfinished wood
