New grow setup

Good afternoon,

i am starting my first indoor grow. Second grow ever. I will first break down my equipment and thought processes.

equipment and environment - hope to paint the best picture of my set up for you.

Tent: AC infinity NEW 48x24x72inches or 4ftx2ftx6ft grow tent (vegetative) & 2 x 2 x 4 Grow tent (thinking germination)
Light: KINGLED 1200W (Labeled not measured) hanging with AC infinity rope hangers (vegetative)
Seedling Light: 1000W full spectrum unnamed brand.
Exhaust Ventilation: AC infinity Infinity T6 with environmental controller and 6inch Carbon Filter
Inline Circulation: AC infinity S4 with standard speed controller and 4inch carbon filter or i can hook up to the T6 controller. however i can not individually change their speeds from the environmental controller. (My view for the inline and carbon filter is extra fresh air and co2 coming in and i can avoid having dust being sucked into the tent with the carbon filter)
Humidifier: 6L Vivosun - Currently had in large tent “48x24x72inches”
Day time temps-lights on with both AC infinity units running is around 75-85 degrees F will dome initially however i bought a humidifier for when the dome is removed and when humidifier added to the 48x24 increases humidity rises from 40% to 60% with mist running - tent is noticeably warm and humid but hydrometer levels wont rise past that - attempted to turn off all fans but that leaves no circulation and stagnant hot air . When inline fresh air is coming in it lowers it a little bit but when I turn on the exhaust i drop right back down to 30%.
Night time temps-lights off with both AC infinity units running drops to around 60degrees F and 45% humidity.

Strain and methods

Seeds: Unfemenized - “Gelato”
Germination Method: 24-48Hr Float Water Method
Germination Method following root exposure. Place directly into Rapid Rooter Cubes And a dome placed on top for increased humidity.
Location of seedlings: was thinking of adding humidifier to 2x2x4 - smaller space should raise humidity better then in my 48x24x72 (Thoughts)
Root development and transplant into final home: undecided if i should place them into a 3 gallon or 5 gallon (thoughts)
Type of medium planning to be used: foxfarm soil
Mycorrhizae: did not buy yet — Should i be using this right from the start? What do you recommend for rapid root growth in the early stages (inexpensive)
Nutrients: Undecided - i currently have advanced nutrients trio but might want to consider fresh bottles
PH pen : have a cheap pen but I don’t think it’s calibrated right - looking for cheap accurate pens that also measure PPM (post links)

Questions:

I’m not sure how many plants i should start off with i have normal seeds and will have to sex them.
My goal is to have at least 2 or 3 feminized. However I don’t want to plant 4 and have all 4 coming out males.

  • How many plants can i put into my tent before sexing them to become females. Will 6 plants be to much until i can take out the males
  • ill 6 plants overcrowd my vegetative space until i can properly sex them
  • what kind of mycorrihaze or rapid root growth hormones should i be using and when should i be using them. (Ive heard of great white)
  • Does anyone recommend the dirty dozen fox farm bundle?
  • Will my 1000W LED be to much for the seedlings.
  • how long should seedlings be left under humidity dome
  • how long should i try to keep my humidity levels up for before stopping the increased humidity and switching from the 24x24inch grow tent to the 48x24 with 40% humidity for vegetative growth. (Does it matter how many nodes the plant has before lowering humidity and switching from the seedling tent to the vegetative tent)

Thank you :) if anyone requests i can attach pictures of my setup if they would like to see how i did it.

I usually grow 6 plants in a 4x4 plot. If I'm using regular seeds I may add a plant or two, but usually there's enough time between sexing and stretching for the other plants to fill in the newly opened up canopy real estate.

Your LED is not 1000w. It's 250. It should be fine as long as you keep a healthy distance. It might not be powerful enough for flowering though.

Seeds don't really need a dome, but once you see roots you should take it off.

thank you for the quick reply?

what do you think my KINGLED 1200W is really at? Will this be enough for flowering.

The website said it's 250w. You will grow buds, but they won't be as nice as something more powerful. My LEDs are all 600 to 650w.

I’ll consider adding the king and the unnamed for a little extra light coverage. Should have enough room for both since my filters are outside the tent.

Whatever the output of your light(s), you should shoot for 40-50W / sq ft for optimal growth during flower.

the 40 to 50 is draw from the socket, not what they advertise. I had half a bottle of AN sensi grow from 8 years ago and it still seems to work ok. I am using for cloning and small plants not in the tents. For flower in a 4x4 I am using 650watts input to Kingbrite QB288 (120w each) and another LM301h 240watt bar. The power is more than I need but it is keeping the tent warm.
