My girls are about done... maybe one or two weeks. My question is would there be a negative effect if i switched the light to 18/6 the last week or so? As im trimming i want to replace each girl i cut with an lr2. Would i be better off putting the lr2 under 12/12 for a couple weeks then back to 18/6 or can i put the big girls under 18/6? thanks.

I would imagine that cutting the photoperiod back to 18/6 would cause the plant to continue to vegetate, causing your "flushed" buds to regain thier nutrients, causing a less desireable smoking experience. Reducing your light to 0/24 for the last 48 hours of your plants life is recomended by some folks.

If I were you, I would place your LR2 beans into your sprouting medium, and place them under a really cheap Fluorescent tube, or 2-3 Daylight Compact-Fluorescents, then transfer them to your grow box once your "big girls" are outta there!

12/12 the last two weeks. You put em on 18/6 they might revert back to the veg mode and you may find yourself with leafy airy bud :hump:

18/6 will make your plants not finish. Unless you mean 6/18(6 on 18 off) then it will be totally negative and stress your plants out and put then back in veg which is what you don't want! Less light is good for your plants right now. Plants produce THC in darkness.

I agree stay on 12/12. Besides, the autos should be on 24/7 anyway. IMO, 18/6 is good for nothing.

dont go over 14hours of light..the last week or two u can change it to 14/10 to help ur plant process and use up all the sugars and enzymes remaining..i would never go over 14hours tho..not even 20minutes over

im not to sure if thc comes from darkness ONLY..its a cycle..needs light to process and shit plus im a UVB light guy and uvb lights make ur plant produce more trichs and its said that plants throw out more trichs to defend its self from the heat or rays coming off the uvb..so it works both ways its a defense mechanism..u stress ur plant and it defends its buds no matter what..to much light or not enough light as well..thats y lots of people give their plant 24-72hours of dark at the end of flower(more trichs and more sticky icky)

That makes no sense to me. Why would you want to go against what takes place in nature?! If anything going 10/14 more closely replicates fall going into winter....

Well, back to the OP's question. If you put your babies on 18/6 for 2 weeks I'll guarantee you they'll go back into veg and your buds will just stop growing. Absolutely do not do it. Maintain 12/12 until the end. There's some debate about whether or not a 24-72 hour dark period at the end will increase potency, but I haven't seen conclusive evidence from either side of the argument yet, and we probably never will because of the difficulty in objectively testing potency.

look how long it takes to flower outdoor..WERE TALKIN INDOOR
LMFAO wtf does it matter indoors or outdoors, that logic makes no sense!! I dunno, I would love for you to explain it because really I dont understand what your saying. how does extra light get rid of sugars?!

all you are doing is replicating how marijuana would grow outdoors, how exactly does going against what nature does help something that originally came from the outdoors?! Please explain.

just because you do something and you think it works doesnt mean it does work....

outdoor flowering time isnt 50-80days like indoor thats all im sayin..indoor growing is totally different brotha
Yes growing indoors is different because indoors plants recievemore constant light. There are no clouds, shadows, bugs, animals droughts, floods, extreme temps, ect. ect. Basically controlling these factors allows the plants will finish quicker indoors...

lmao, im pulling 2 + ozs per plant on my first grow of amazing bud, and yes im still learning.. but you making a statement that doesnt make any sense, and one that you cant back with any type of logical argument means I probably shouldnt learn from you ;)
