150 =2
250 = 4
1 gallon pots
plants 2 to 3 feet tall
Have fun
Not completely trueif ur plants are 2 - 3 feet tall that light wont penetrate the canopy to get to the lower buds, a six hundred watt has the penatration of 2-3 ft, and u will always get better results with hid lighting, but not sayin u cant get good bud and reasonable yealds with cfls, as i can tell by your grow cfls work great but hid works even better
CHeck into LEDs. A lot of people are hating on them, but the work wonders for me. I guess it depends on where, and what you grow. I was going to get a 250 HPS for my four plants (AK-4, but the price was the same, and the claims are great that it works. I have no complaints. I vegged with MH bulbs,a nd switched to LED to flower. In one month of veg, I had HUGE 7 leafs on my plant, I switched to flowering (LEDS), and I swear my plants grew six inches within 48 hours. I have a VERY nice crop coming in the next weeks.
if u would of gone with a hps tho ur plant could be looking like this one..vegged and flowered with a 600hps..GO WITH THE 250w it will higher ur yield..more lumens=more budDon't be discouraged, take a look at this bud (pic)
It's just into 5th week of flower UNDER JUST ONE 65 WATT CFL
It would be alot easier to answer if you gave us the size of the area you plan to cover, because plants can vary alot in size. The guys I've seen do the best with the CFLs are using one of those 65 watt bulbs per plant, or have the bulbs 18" or less apart. A 250 watt HPS is good for covering up to a 3' x 3' area, and a 150 would be good for about 2' x 2'. The easiest way to figure it out, it to plan to have at least 3000 lumens per square foot, which is the mimimum for decent growth/yield.
