yo, i have a problem, i have a digital power meter which i think is connected and read from the electricity company. i am worried that they can see everything i.e what times i use power, so, if there is someone growing in a hydro pattern they will know. are there any alternative power sources or does anyone know how to trick them?

..As Knickers said, switch to Low power lighting, or try manually turning ur lights on and off and vary ur light pattern by 15min a day until it has changed several hrs since the beginning..
I spose they only look for patterns on time, so if u neva establish a pattern then u shud b alright.. Maybe..?

The most affordable option from what I can see is solar panels, 12v car batteries (more than a few) and a 240v converter. Run everything off your mains and run your lights off your batteries. I cant imagine doing it for less than a few thousand $$ though.

but remember guys, people put heaters and ac and all sorts on timers, so you only have to worry about ur timers with the digital shit if ur drawing a bit of power(id say more than 2KW)

I have a couple of strains going at the moment, whats this look like, its on the a few of the lower leaves on half of my plants, its a brownie orangie colour?

Its just shown up n the last couple of days, after I took clones from all of them...

I do have a temp range of 22-34 and a wooping RH range of 30%-91%

My Res measured currently at PH6.8, Im thinking that my PH rises pretty quick.:eyesmoke:

finally got my seeds today! took about 2 1/2 weeks. Starting germing 3 of the mangos using paper towel method. Gonna email marijuana-seeds.nl though as a couple of the seeds look white, which isnt good enough frankly.

Looks like u are feeding them with water from the tap that contains too much chlorine. Always let ur water distill. It leads to a build-up of shit on ur roots and therefore they cant work properly.
Also looks like Mag deficiency, caused by excess calcium, which also comes from ur Tap Water. Adding Mag wont help, u must drop the extra Cal.

Yer Im using tap water, I use heaps of water, and its hard for me to let it sit out, as I have no where to store so much water, I have started to give my plants a heavy spray down prior to lights off, to help with dust so Im hoping its just that I have been showering them too often....

Im going to let things run there course for a bit, it should correct it should fix itself if I stop showering them with fresh water....

Unsure about that, cause I have had good results with Plain Old tape water now for weeks, also not that you can go off everything you read off a forum but the RIU user "Al B Fuct", says Tap water is great in hydroponics, and that guy really seems to know his MJ!!!! :eyesmoke:

Tapwater in Australia has strict standards when it comes to TDS, though chlorine levels are high... just leave it sit for 24hrs and 90% will evaporate.

Tapwater is fine ! & already treated.

Tank or rain will usually cause mold. But treated with alittle H2o2 it will be fine.

Bore or well water can be too high in TDS and other compounds that will combined with your nutes and produce PH lock out effect.
And will need An expensive r/o filter. Which would work with any of these and be your best result, but not really needed IMO if you have good tap water ;).

all depends on where you live too. Most places in Australia do have levels of Chloramines in your tap water though. Chlorine is bad enough but Chloramine is a million times worse, I like to leave my water sitting out for at least a week due to the Chloramines.

You can always buy a water conditioner however that'll treat the water.

I use tap water, but i let it sit-out. I have a few 20L buckets that i fill up 2-3 days prior and let it sit for a day, then add my Bactikill to sort out any nasties in the water, then 1 day later i add all my nutes, and give it another day for the PH to stablise, then i PH it & feed the plants. I use air-stones wherever possible.

tap water in canberra is some of the best in oz. i use it but let it sit for 24hours with an air stone running. if i have to use it straight away i use a water ager with no problems. the main thing to get past is the chlorine i think.
