I gotta say that I was not happy with using FoxFarm nutrients with the Aerogarden. I think they are best used for soil growing, and not really suited for the AG. I had the exact same problem...sick and dying plants no matter what I tried. I switched to the Technaflora nutes...and man....there is not one spot of yellow or one single discolored leaf on the two plants I have going. I recommend trying different nutes.
I got mine here: Amazon.com: Recipe for Success Starter Kit: Kitchen & Dining
I'll post some pics soon...
Tek doesn't really frequent this place as much as he used to. Since everyone uses the ag differently it's easier to just learn how to grow and apply it to your situation. What works for one person wont work for another. Just get the ag, a ph tester, ppm wand, hydro nutrients, a pump and airstone,an 8v cord, light timer, clonex if you're planning on cloning, and some supplemental lighting.hey tek, would it be too much to ask for you to post a step-by-step guide on how to successfully grow pot with the ag? that would be so awesome to have all the info in one guide so i wouldnt have to read a million posts
Word, the old thread kind of died off. I guess I'll continue the legacy with a short description of what I have going so far.
-Black Aerogarden
-air pump with 5" airstone
-Three 46 watt full spec. CFL's
-Three part Fox Farm line
-A quart of Cal/mag
-Constant 6.0 ph
-Humidity 50%
-Supplemental CO2
- 80 degrees constant
-Mylar covered grow box
-dedication
Currently I'm having trouble with my second official attempt. First attempt the leaves became chlorotic and necrotic; tried and tried but they died. I was using distilled water so I picked up some cal/mag and began supplementing it into my second grow. This time around I began to get yellow spots on the centers of the leaves which spread. First dosing of cal/mag it went away. Second time around the leaves once again began to do the same thing.
I think we should compare feeding schedules or something
I could be under/over nuting pretty sure it's right on the mark
On the fox farm feed schedule it begins feeding at week one, some people say no nutes for two weeks. How does that come into play.
I've been starting off my seedlings at week one at 1/4th strength and it yellowed the leaves until dosing with cal/mag.
Kicked up the dosage to 1/3 second week and was fine for a couple days.
Tek any words on Fox Farm feeding and your water?
Cheers everyone
i may give it a try to see. From what I have read, lowryder 2 (or any of the lowryder/low life varieties) can be cloned but it is difficult and maybe not worth the effort. May as well give it a try and see for myself! From what i have read you want to clone them before you flower. You are supposed to top your plants when they get 1/3 the size you want them and then veg a little longer so they get close to the size of the other plants and then flower them. I have read some posts that say you can not clone lowryder # 2 and i have read some that say you can. I have a homebox and 2 aerogarden pro 200's that i am going to get going after the hollidays. I am going to plant lowryder # 2, northern lights crossed with skunk #1, and big bud. If they get too big for the aerogardens i am going to plant them in a bubbleponics system that i made and got the the stuff from Lowes for $40 SH Hydroponics. I downloaded the instructions that includes a list of everything you need to make one. I think you are right, because it is a autoflowering plant the light cycle should not make a differance.
