Does anyone know if you could introduce CO2 into the watertank of the Aerogarden?
like with an aquarium plant co2 supplement system
or next to it maybe in a cup or something?

Why not. Just build a little frame to hold the piping around it and put little holes in it so when you turn the tank on it gives them tons of it. However, many growers argue if it is really necessary and can actually hurt the grow. A spray bottle with bubble water will give them tons of CO2 also.

There is a video on the web with a private party demonstating the Aerogarden.

cool thanks
:blsmoke:
definately gonna get the new taller aerogarden for flowering my clones off my original aerogarden mothers
Got a cardboard box around it with 2 smaller computer fans wired input bottom right out put top left
inside is the reflective carwindshield blanket on the sides and a door in the front and saran wrap as a window
so build another one for flowering and filter both air outputs inbetween should be sweet and good enuf just for me

need more money of course

I have used the nutes that aero has supplied, and i was about to use fox farm. Thanks for the tip and saving my grow!!

I gotta say that I was not happy with using FoxFarm nutrients with the Aerogarden. I think they are best used for soil growing, and not really suited for the AG. I had the exact same problem...sick and dying plants no matter what I tried. I switched to the Technaflora nutes...and man....there is not one spot of yellow or one single discolored leaf on the two plants I have going. I recommend trying different nutes.

I got mine here: Amazon.com: Recipe for Success Starter Kit: Kitchen & Dining

I'll post some pics soon...

hey tek, would it be too much to ask for you to post a step-by-step guide on how to successfully grow pot with the ag? that would be so awesome to have all the info in one guide so i wouldnt have to read a million posts

Tek doesn't really frequent this place as much as he used to. Since everyone uses the ag differently it's easier to just learn how to grow and apply it to your situation. What works for one person wont work for another. Just get the ag, a ph tester, ppm wand, hydro nutrients, a pump and airstone,an 8v cord, light timer, clonex if you're planning on cloning, and some supplemental lighting.

that's all you need, it's all useless without the knowledge and understanding of how things interact. I'm sure people on this bored would be more than happy to help you, just not do it all for you!

Welcome aboard my friend, if you need help just ask!

thanks for the help charlesiii ill give what u say a try. how high should the ph be during the growing process? whats the ppm wand used for? what size/kind of airstone and pump should i get and how should i assemble it into to ag? Is the 8v cord for extending the light? do u use the ag's timer and/or a light timer? i have a 4ft florescent and a small hps, would that suffice?

thanks again my friend

1.Ph look in the FAQ section for the PH High acidic for cannibis
2 PPM (parts per million) wand measures Total Dissilved Solids(TDS) in the water used to measure nutrient content of your water
3.any fishtank air pump and airstone for air (adds oxygen to the water also for root rot). the aerogarden holds a gallon/4L of water.Put the airstone into the water tank any way you would like to. It's your garden.
4.The cord is a radioshack figure 8, 12v cord like you see on portable stereos or the sony playstation. it has same plug as aerogarden light.
5 The timer - the aerogarden built in timer on the original had no 12/12 for flowering stage. so a standard lamp timer you plug into the wall works for the setting you need.
also allows more heighth for your light should you desire taller plants.
THe light question is a big one they actually have light gauges from what I understand that would be your best bet for answering your question but heat and lumens are the two factors to consider when questioning your lights.
more can be said but it is about research
remember it is just a weed

I'm joining all of you pioneers as well. I've got a desire to grow a personal crop, in the most discreet manner possible. That's what got me to buy the AG, stainless steel version. I'm using what I'll call the Baloney Box, and I'll post this simple, low cost "Bloom Box" type containment cube...tomorrow or the next day, complete with supplies and pictures.

Baloney Box (6.7 cu/ft), for the AeroGarden

This is what it looks like:

https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-pics/index.php?n=9884

After purchase of 1 Aerogarden, at the std 22" height, you can begin assembling your Baloney Box. It is durable, compact, reflective, insulating, and aerated. It’ll cost you ~$100. Materials are as follows:

UHaul

1 - 19”TV/Microwave-size box (24" x 24" x 20" (6.7 cu/ft), $7.15 [This is one tough box]
1 – roll box tape, “$5

Home Depot
1 – 24”x25ft. roll of Reflective Insulation, $25 [insulation aisle]
3 - tubes tub & tile squeezable adhesive caulk (no caulking gun req'd), $10 [paint section]
1 - lamp cord, with 2 prong plug, $6 [electrical]
2 – wire connector caps, twist, $1 [electrical]
1 - electrical tape, $2 [electrical]
1 - razor knife, $5 [tools]
1 – 4” Duct Connector, $3 [heating, air ducting]
1 – roll of aluminum duct tape, $8 [heating, air ducting]

Radio Shack

1 - 120VAC 3" Fan, $19.99

--------------------------
TOTAL for project: $ 92.14
--------------------------
Owing to a whim, I whipped-up a bunch of stuff, assembled it, and now call it the Baloney Box. It’s meant to be a durable and inexpensive 6.7 cu/ft growth space for cannabis that is both insulated and reflective, with forced air and near-complete dark chamber. The AeroGarden is a small automated hydroponic/aeroponic growth system and the success of that system I leave to the grower.

To avoid confusion, the surfaces of the box will be referred to as if the box is sitting in an upright position. This clarification is because we turn the box on its side to complete the project.
--------------------------à>>
The UHaul box is an excellent box, and serves specifically well as the foundation of the chamber. Take this box, tape the bottom opening shut with roll box tape, and sit the box on its side so that the top opening now faces you. Take these open flaps of the box and flex them in and out, each of the four leaves. This loosens the bend and will assist you in attaining the closure of the box after it’s complete.

The reflective Insulation you bought fits onto the four sides of the UHaul box almost precisely when cut properly. Cut the 4 pieces so they cover the left, right, top and bottom sides of the box, and caulk them into place (you don’t need too much). The back of the box has to be caulked and covered with more than one piece of reflective insulation. Pay special attention to the two front leaves of the box: Only two opposite leaves of the box opening must be covered with insulation, and folded correctly to have the full reflective effect. The other two leaves are not covered with insulation, allowing the box to be closed. Mine are the two side leaves, left and right, that are insulated. These would fold in first, and then the two uninsulated leaves would be folded over them and secured with duct tape or a more advanced fastening system.

Take the 4” Duct connector, place it onto the outer, right, upper, back corner of the box and trace the circle with a pencil. Use the razor knife to cut the hole. Use the aluminum duct tape to wrap and attach the Radio Shack fan, to one end of the duct connector. The aluminum tape allows you to form around the fan and the duct to get a neat attachment. Slide the duct connector/fan assembly into the hole in the box and if it’s not tight, use the aluminum tape to form seal it into place. Splice the ends of the fan and Lamp Cord, and twist the two wires with the twist wire connector caps. Wrap each with electrical tape.

Lastly, in the inside, back right lower corner, cut a flap so that you can get the cord of the AeroGarden to poke through. You only need to place more intake holes into the box if you find that the box is running hot. Otherwise, the fact that the box is not airtight will do the job adequately.

I swear I have read through all of the AeroGarden posts and haven't seen this directly answered: If lowryder2 is autoflowering, then couldn't you technically take a clone from a plant in the aerogarden and immediately put it in another hole in the Aero on the same light setting as the more mature plants? In other words, since you don't have to change the light settings for lowryder2, you wouldn't have to put your clones in another Aerogarden unit on a different setting; you could leave them in with the flowering plants, thus obviating the need for 2 Aero units?

From what i have read you want to clone them before you flower. You are supposed to top your plants when they get 1/3 the size you want them and then veg a little longer so they get close to the size of the other plants and then flower them. I have read some posts that say you can not clone lowryder # 2 and i have read some that say you can. I have a homebox and 2 aerogarden pro 200's that i am going to get going after the hollidays. I am going to plant lowryder # 2, northern lights crossed with skunk #1, and big bud. If they get too big for the aerogardens i am going to plant them in a bubbleponics system that i made and got the the stuff from Lowes for $40 SH Hydroponics. I downloaded the instructions that includes a list of everything you need to make one. I think you are right, because it is a autoflowering plant the light cycle should not make a differance.

Word, the old thread kind of died off. I guess I'll continue the legacy with a short description of what I have going so far.

-Black Aerogarden
-air pump with 5" airstone
-Three 46 watt full spec. CFL's
-Three part Fox Farm line
-A quart of Cal/mag
-Constant 6.0 ph
-Humidity 50%
-Supplemental CO2
- 80 degrees constant
-Mylar covered grow box
-dedication

Currently I'm having trouble with my second official attempt. First attempt the leaves became chlorotic and necrotic; tried and tried but they died. I was using distilled water so I picked up some cal/mag and began supplementing it into my second grow. This time around I began to get yellow spots on the centers of the leaves which spread. First dosing of cal/mag it went away. Second time around the leaves once again began to do the same thing.

I think we should compare feeding schedules or something
I could be under/over nuting pretty sure it's right on the mark

On the fox farm feed schedule it begins feeding at week one, some people say no nutes for two weeks. How does that come into play.

I've been starting off my seedlings at week one at 1/4th strength and it yellowed the leaves until dosing with cal/mag.
Kicked up the dosage to 1/3 second week and was fine for a couple days.

Tek any words on Fox Farm feeding and your water?

Cheers everyone

i started my grow off with nutes and its growing great i dont have fox farm but i got bc grow that line of nutes and i havent kept up with the ph levels but the plants are doing greatabout five weeks in to grow bout to start flowering

i may give it a try to see. From what I have read, lowryder 2 (or any of the lowryder/low life varieties) can be cloned but it is difficult and maybe not worth the effort. May as well give it a try and see for myself!

Does any of the settings fadedown to a feasible light cycle?? Like, I would think it would start decreasing after awhile... If this is true, what is the best setting to get the plant to vegatate, then flower, without difficulty? I also, understand the nutes that come with AG, are not good for growing... Please help me, I'm trying to get this system soon, and it seems everybody beats around the bush on this subject...
