Here is a continuation of my aerogarden page since they closed the last one out because it was too long or somthing...not really sure why they did that but I'm proud that my little venture has grew into a revolution. I hope everyone is gaining knowledge....

One note I just thought that no body has touched on is that I wouldnt recommend growing Sativas in the aerogarden. If anyone is having problems make sure your not growing sativas just because of their tendency to be very tall...

Word, the old thread kind of died off. I guess I'll continue the legacy with a short description of what I have going so far.

-Black Aerogarden
-air pump with 5" airstone
-Three 46 watt full spec. CFL's
-Three part Fox Farm line
-A quart of Cal/mag
-Constant 6.0 ph
-Humidity 50%
-Supplemental CO2
- 80 degrees constant
-Mylar covered grow box
-dedication

Currently I'm having trouble with my second official attempt. First attempt the leaves became chlorotic and necrotic; tried and tried but they died. I was using distilled water so I picked up some cal/mag and began supplementing it into my second grow. This time around I began to get yellow spots on the centers of the leaves which spread. First dosing of cal/mag it went away. Second time around the leaves once again began to do the same thing.

I think we should compare feeding schedules or something
I could be under/over nuting pretty sure it's right on the mark

On the fox farm feed schedule it begins feeding at week one, some people say no nutes for two weeks. How does that come into play.

I've been starting off my seedlings at week one at 1/4th strength and it yellowed the leaves until dosing with cal/mag.
Kicked up the dosage to 1/3 second week and was fine for a couple days.

Tek any words on Fox Farm feeding and your water?

i am getting my stuff together now.... Im a little nervous cuz itll b my first indoor grow. I figured i would try this machine that seems to have mixed reviews from people. Im not interested in high yielding monster size plants. Simply wanna take my weed smoking hobby furthur by growing my own smoke. This site has been EXTREMELY helpful so far and i cant wait to actually start......

I am open for anybody's advice. I have PMed a few of you guys and most of you seem to be pretty nice and helpful.

Hence the username. Anyhow, I finally decided to start the Aerogarden I got for Christmas. Been lurking here for some time, in fact.

Anyhow, I have never grown my own before, and not sure if this was the way to go, or not. I do also have a cheap flourescent light in a small closet, if I go that way. What are some common mistakes to avoid?

I have the white garden. I started with the tomato nutrient tablets, but I have Fox Farm Grow Big on hand. I planted 5 pods and two have sprouted. I replaced the 3 dud seeds today. I also picked up the additional cord and timer from Radio Shack today.

Thanks for all the help.

Good luck FrootyNuggetsOfLove420, just remember to do everything logically. Hydroponics is in no way as forgiving as soil, once something goes wrong, it leads to other deficiencies, problems, whatever.

In hydroponic growing it is impossible to grow without a way to test ph and also, most experienced users say a tds or ppm meter.

Since I was unable to afford a meter, I chose to use distilled water (ppm of 0 or close to it). With this choice I had to learn through mistakes and found out distilled has no calcium like hard water and thus you must supplement it.

As long as you have a ph tester and some better lights you should be able to grow seed to flower rather easily with minimal problems. Update us with pictures please!


As for you AdorablyN00bie, I'm assuming you've read tek's "the aerogarden!" start to finish. This is as good as a resource as you're going to get considering how much people hate these things (one gallon res makes people sad....). Just remember the more you guys post about problems and solutions the more you will learn and be able to crank out some quality dro.

Share your theories and ways of doing things, the aerogarden community has kind of died out. Not sure if it's because of getting busted, getting bored, or moving on to bigger and better things. Let's hope for the last one!

I gotta say that I was not happy with using FoxFarm nutrients with the Aerogarden. I think they are best used for soil growing, and not really suited for the AG. I had the exact same problem...sick and dying plants no matter what I tried. I switched to the Technaflora nutes...and man....there is not one spot of yellow or one single discolored leaf on the two plants I have going. I recommend trying different nutes.

yea im 2 days into my batch on the aerogarden ill keep yall posted with pic along the way and im happy to take any tips from ppl that have had successful plants

Well got impatient ,plants were doing real good til I went to a 12/12. Didn't flower just sort of dried up and turned yellow. So I started over. I figure by the third or forth try at this I might get a plant to produce

saw the aquarium ones was wondering how to use those maybe .?:
which ones you got?
oh wait this is a fizz factory thing for aquariums to raise co2 levels for underwater plants

i'm hearing some mixed things about fox farm nutes tech i need some advanced help im going into flower mode in the morning so far i'm having excellent results at 4 nodes
