I haven't noticed one like that around, that's cool as long as it doesn't twirl up like those old phone cords ea time you use it.

Runoff? I don't have much runoff. I use 18X28" rubbermaid black trays that are about 4.5 inches deep. The watering system is hooked up to a wand> I found a cool somewhat fancy 36" adjustable nozzle and 8 patterns of spraying at Loes today along with the coil hose. Its working good but flipping the breaker.......what do you do with the runoff? Really considering a system like that, but don't want to flood my garden..
So Oregonmeds. I got the hose and a fancy watering wand. It is pretty slick. The pump keeps flipping the breaker, I am gonna try and run an extension cord downstairs tomorrow to see if it works that way otherwise the pump may be fucked........ Will be posting pics tomorrow. It is a very clean setup. The coil hose i bought is 25 feet.Thanks

You got it! I never got pics up today, but I got it all going. Still flipping breakers, but haven't had a chance to try it on a different breaker. Sick link. Holy shit. really hitting that 1 gpw there. So OregonMeds, Have you gotten your big room going yet?

Just so you know... it's not the best idea to work your electrical system so much. If something keeps tripping a breaker it's overloading that circuit. You are working out the breaker... and depending on who did the wiring, you could be working out the wires too. If the breaker isn't the right size for the coresponding wiring... the wires could fry.
I don't think you are going to burn down your house... but I wouldn't keep tripping that breaker over and over.

I haven't been tripping it habitually. I think it is probably the pump, I bought it used, and it may short out or something. The pump is never plugged in, until right before I use it. Im gonna try running off a different breaker, just need an extension cord.

Here is a little update for the day! THe watering system is now done, I am rerouting some major power (portable AC) down stairs onto another circuit. Then I will be using the watering system to run. THe plants are all looking great, really adapting well to the vertical lighting. Im feeling pretty confident about it. Today the lights are going to turn off at 9:00PM to intiate the first 12 hours of darkness they have seen. I am really excited to see how these stretch out. I am hoping for some large plants, and am planning on tying them for ultimate position to the vertical light or maybe even a screen if need be. I said flip the switch by the 15th, so Im doing it.

On other notes I got the pump hooked up to a different circuit and it is working great. I will get some pics of the watering wand in action tommorrow...... It is sweet........ I just need a 15 gallon res as a temporary res, for mixing nutrients etc.
Any ideas on how I can use the 55 gallon drum and the pot to water the most efficiently?
Mix something for a few days of watering at a time? 20 gallons perhaps.........

Interesting. Sounds pretty cool. You have a large amount of knowledge and a big bag of tricks. Staying tuned for the book....... Im liking the vertical so far, the plants have gotten huge...... Flipped the switch today

It's best to just mix what you can use at the moment, sometimes the ph will wander too much. (Depends on your mix.)
The stuff I'm using now is organic and it's not good at all if I let it stand, but if you have something made for hydro also you'd probably have better luck. Stick an air line in your water if possible. I don't like to let it stand stagnant and the plants like to be fed with aerated water anyway.

I got 2 air stones in there right now. I do have techna Flora nutrients which are made for hydro. I really want to figure this out.

I am stoked for the big stretchs. Its going to be exciting. I have never had a plant this big before flip switching. SHould be some nice big girls. There is plenty of room for them to get big....

Haven't had a whole lot of time to spend in the grow room with finals this week. THings are starting to stretch.... Im loving it. Can't wait to see how big these girls end up. They are getting fed tomorrow. Pics tomorrow as well!
