what wattage (actual)did u pick up?

My bulbs are all 26W actuals. I think I have 2 or 3 running right now. I have room for 6 but I can' keep the temps down so I've been messing with them to see what I can manage. This is my first grow and I've been busy with everything else lately so I haven't been able to fine tune them like I want. I realize that more lights/watts/lumens is better but I can't pull it off with a small closet stealth grow. Eventually I'll do more but I'd rather be safe than sorry for now.

Ya scrapdizle has a point. Wattage is important. Oh and good idea on the daylights with the warms. It really does help, not so much during veg, but flowering its key. Oh and dont let ppl rip ur ass too much about not having enough wattage, cuz i run 2 23watt daylights right on top my (beautiful,thick,lucious) girl. lol Enough said...

I found a few threads on the forum about having multiple spectrums because it'll make your plants better. Don't worry, I take criticism pretty well. If I like the advice, I'll take it. If people are being pushy and demanding things I can't provide, I shrug it off. I'll look back on it for future reference but I'm trying to have fun with this project. This isn't my job and it doesn't have to be ridiculously difficult. This is supposed to be fun.

Thanks man. I hope they're doing alright. They're sleeping right now but I didn't get to check on them AT ALL today and I wanted to transplant. I think I'm gonna wake up early and do it tomorrow.

Yeah it's unreal. I realize that everyone starts somewhere but I hate when they're learning on MY bowl. Haha. I try to be patient because we were all there at one point but when I'm low on cash and smoke and I'm trying to be a nice guy, it's kinda tough. lol i've got a gasmask water pipe, and a 2 ft water pipe and a trio-puss bong (that's its name lol) it has 3 hoses and a MASSIVE bowl it's outta commition for a little til i can get 2 more people to smoke with me and match my bowls (my bowls being when my plant is done hahaha)

Nice. I've never tried a gasmask pipe because I heard it burns your eyes/nose. I have contacts that hate me already so I never want to make them worse. Any truth to it?

Transplanted them today!! I finally got a free hour to get these babies swapped. They're looking like hell though from yesterday. I'm guessing they're water/nutrient deprived so we'll see how today's events treat them. They have a ton of fresh dirt to play in, plenty of water, new nutrients from the soil. In a few weeks I'll throw some real nutes on them. I found a store that carries some stuff like blood meal, bone meal, and osmocote. I could probably order nutes online but I'm trying to keep this low budget and low key.

I put coffee filters in the bottom to keep the dirt from washing out and to keep the roots from growing out the bottom. We'll see how it plays out.

The coffee filters were essentially free (if you have a coffee pot at work, they'll have 1000's laying around). The pots were $1.99 each and about $10.50 after tax. I wanted pots that were a little deeper but they width is perfect. I can't fit anything much bigger in this box.

Because I have NO IDEA what's causing the yellow/brown leaves all the time, I decided to put some white paper on the walls. I'm thinking that maybe I'm burning them with tinfoil hotspots so I'll see if this helps at all.

Now I just need to figure out what to do about watering them for a week or 2 so I can go on vacation...

it doesn't burn your nose unless your inhaling through it (which is fun and fucks ya up faster and may last even a little longer) your eyes you can leave open until you clear it then i close my eyes i love the mask. but since you have contacts i'd keep my eyes closed til finished with the hit but it is deff something to try

Can anyone shed some light on my problem? Is everyone else as clueless as I am? If you look at the pics from today and yesterday, you'll see that the bottom leaves are turning yellow with brown spots. So far this has happened on EVERY PLANT EXCEPT 1. The one in the yellow pot has been happy and healthy the whole time ( I think). Looking back on it, I should've marked which were which so I could keep track of them the whole time. After pulling off leaves and moving them around and switching pots, I have no idea. One of the smallest used to be one of the biggest but it had this same leaf issue.

-It looks like lack of nutrients but why would it happen to the bottom leaves and not the top? I would think the top ones would be most deprived.

-It could be from heat but again, the top leaves are the closest to the lights/heat.

-It could be from the tinfoil creating hot spots but it still seems weird that only the bottom leaves are getting all the issues. I've addressed this by putting white paper on the walls. I've looked for emergency Mylar fire blankets but haven't found any. It doesn't seem like the season for them.

I thought they looked a little droopy today and I thought I overwatered when I transplanted but if you compare pics, they're a lot stronger looking today than yesterday. The leaves on the one in the yellow pot are the most noticeable. They were droopy yesterday (dehydrated) but today they're standing out catching some rays. I'll give them a day or 2 to dry out and I'll see how they're doing. Now I need a new watering schedule/amount for the bigger pot.

So during flowering, do they use more or less water? I would think they'd use more in the vegging stage because they're growing but in the flowering stage, they need the water to create flowers/buds and trichs and everything. Any ideas? This would help me decide when to flower to help with as many vacation-related growing issues as possible.

Haha. I love the "first time" stories. My first official time smoking was a puff or two when I was drunk so I didn't even feel it. My first time high was when I smoked with some friends during summer vacation (it was so nice to be off from school). Over the course of a few hours, we smoked Hydro, Flaming Nugs, and some White Widow. I was melting into the front seat of the car and I could feel/hear my heartbeat and I asked that same old question, "am I gonna die?". SO LAME. Haha. I never puked though. All my friend kept saying was "If you puke in my car I've gotta kill you so tell me and I'll pull over".

Uh they look like healthy young plants to be honest. Yellowing on the lower leaves is ok,as long as it stays there. If it spreads...houston we have a problem. lol and as far as the dots im not sure, all i could see is soil left over from the transplant. Hey if you dont mind, wheres your room located? (attic,cellar,closet,etc.) Cause those brown dots might be moving, the attic grower struggles with spider mites quite frequently. Just a thought.

looks like a nute deficiency.. Flush your plants untill the water runs out the bottom for 30 seconds.. Add some 1/2 strength nutes and wait.. You'll see them perk up in 3 days. After 3 days, remove any yellowing,spotted leaves and you'll be on your way.

As for the advertising thing, my bad.. i was testing a program and it went haywire.

Well alright then. I guess I just figured that yellowing lower leaves was a bad sign. The brown spots were definitely throwing me off. My grow is in a closet and it's pretty clean. Before I started my grow, I vacuumed the exterior room, I pulled everything out of the closet, wiped down the floors/walls with a bleach solution, and then put everything in. How would I know if I have spider mites and if so, how do I get rid of them without killing the plants or putting a bunch of pesticides in my bud?

I just transplanted them the other day and right now I'm away on vacation. I'll be back in a few days so hopefully they're still OK. I'll throw them some nutes in the next week or two once I see how they're holding up to the transplanting.

The cab is about 48" tall so I should have plenty of head room but I think I'm gonna top anyway. I have a buddy who's an expert coming to check on my plants within the next few weeks. Don't worry- I trust this guy with my life. We've known each other since elementary school (damn I feel old ). Plus, he has a WAY bigger grow operation than I do.

I'll get some updated pics when I get back to my plants and then I'll look into topping them. They'll be on week 5 of vegging by then. I want/need to flower fairly soon to have fully cured buds by 4/20. I still have a few weeks yet but I'd hate to cut the flowering short if it's still going strong.

Ive been researching that soil your using the Organic MG shit and the results seems to lean toward it being horrible stuff.. multiple reviews from manufacturers and enthusiasts shun the soil as a very bad medium. Most claim the drainage is bad and the nutes are insufficient. Looking over your journel again i seen signs of nitrogen deficiency very early on, Might i suggest Miracle Grow - Mosture Control? The drainage is remarkable, This is my soil im using and its working really good. It provided just the right amount of nutes for about a month.. Once i flowered, i noticed the leaves getting a lighter green so i added some bloom fert (4-10-10) and its working incredibly.

I believe u are going to transplant soon, so try out the mg moisture control.. its great stuff with a perfect 5.8-6.0 ph level out the bag.

Whats up emptypockets7 just thought i would stop by and check out your awesome grow, you have helped me out with alot of things and just trying to return the favor um.... I see that your plants are a lil under the weather and I would suggest adding some nitrogen. Quick question before you add the (N) Have you been using the miracle grow organic soil from the start if the answer is yes that maybe the problem. If im not mistaken there is very little nitrogen in that soil mix which may be causing the yellowing of the leaves, just to be sure just look on the bag and check out the N-P-K. Hope it helps and enjoy your vacation see you when you get back.

h shit your right man, you beat me to it unfortunately. But I didnt read your post honestly man i some what skimmed through the thread because some of the pics were missing in the beginning and i saw the mg soil pic and put what i thought would help. Lesson learned i will now take the time to read the thread completely Anyways all credit goes to you man and in the end all i was trying to do was help a fellow grower.
