You are a victim of rumor! think logcially, that toxic water will probobly kill your seed instead.

Find the person that told you that and tell them that washing their hair in bong water is really good for it. The water is full of nutrients that will help repair damaged hair. It's not true but anyone who spreads a rumor like that deserves a little payback.

what about miracle gro or something, isn't there some non-dangerous chemical to improve these bunk ass seeds. I know, I know, USE THEM FOR PRACTICE. right?

This is the only thing I could find involving soaking seeds.

Pre-Germination Soak..

Materials:

-Glass of (ideally 7 pH) water
-Cannabis Seeds
-Superthrive or other preferred formula (Optional)

Procedure:

Place your seeds into the Glass of Water...at this time you may add a drop of Superthrive, or whatever mixture you see fit.

Leave the seeds alone for a while (1 hour to 6 hours, whatever amount of time suits you...please realize that soaking for 6 hours rather than 1 could improve germination rates.).
Soaking loosens the shells of those really stocky seeds, and helps pave the way to a strong Cannabis Plant. Generally speaking, most seeds that float are worthless; those that sink are running candidates.

Germination Technique

Materials:

-Tupperware Container
-Lightly Wetted Cloth, Paper Towel, and Napkin.
-Mild Heat Source
-Pre-Soaked Cannabis Seeds

Procedure:

Remove the Cannabis Seeds from their Glass of Water.

Place the seeds onto the Lightly Wetted Paper Towel (or whatever you decided to use. by the way...use common sense, don't try to germinate on wet cardboard.)

Place the paper towel into the Tupperware container then seal the container.

Place the Tupperware container on top of a heat source... I personally use my router, or use the top of the fridge or something else practical.

Finally, open the container once in a while and look for moderate condensation, this will relay that there is an adequate level of humidity...if everything is running smooth, you should notice "changes" within a few days to a few weeks.

When you notice the protruding taproot, it's time for soil. GOOD LUCK!

there's nothing you can do to this seed to improve the plant before you grow it. germinate them, and give them great conditions, thats all you can do.

I used to believe I had better results once I started soaking my seeds in water 24 hours before putting them in a wet paper towel. I have also tried using water with a little bleach in it.

Honestly I now think that I was just not used to so few sprouts coming from seeds of bagweed. Seriously, after screening my seeds for color(dark green/black), pressure(try to press the seed between the meat of your thumb and forefinger...there should be no give), and visual inspection I still only got 1/4 seeds sprouting.

Kim, as for your question about if badseed is good for harvesting experience. I personally think it's a useful experience as it makes the losses less painful. You're still spending a ton on nutrients and lighting but somehow the failures don't seem to hurt as much.

i've just germed 10 seeds. they where all from this years outdoor harvest. FRESH. i drop a few in a black plastic film can. fill it half way with whatever water i have handy. cap it put it on the shelf for three days. open. seeds have "horns". place under 1" of soil....
i found with the "fresh" seeds (they were dried and stored) the success rate on these 10 is 100%. i feel it has a lot to do with the seed from the start. i to pinch, squeeze, inspect... but even after this you put 2 indenticals side-by-side and one will pop one won't.

if you want to soak your seeds in something search out a document about cholchicine[sp?] on this site or google. it supposidly turns your plants polyploid (4 branch at each node vs. 2) increase of yield and potency is inconclusive, but im sure it gives you more interesting ways to bend your plants for maximizing light intake. i guess you can extract this chemical from ornamental flower bulbs you can buy at a store.

so if you use cholochicine and get 4 branches then you seed it. soak those seeds. do you get 8? you could be on to something.

that would be cool. i did hear that once u soak your seeds that the future generations of the plant from seeds will also bear 4 branch nodes.

this shit has got to stop. it is physically impossible to modify a seed into some kind of super plant. the only possible way to do this is through extensive breeding and selecting froms hundreds even thousands of pants for that perfect genotype. seed internals are some of the simplest organisms in the world. if you want 4 branches, then top it twice. if you want 8 branches, top those 4 branches and 8 will grow. if you want a wonder pant for bagseed, you might get lucky every 50 plants with a somewhat decent plant at best. please stop with the rumors from self proclaimed marijuana "experts" from epiphanies of pot-addled minds. common sense, please use it. think more along the lines of it would be safe for a human. would you soak a fetus in bong resin more a stronger baby? would you put bong water in an infants bottle to make him/her stronger in adulthood? the same goes with pants, to an extent

Thank you, and, well, lol, brave, saying that after FDD. lol, if fdd said it might be alright to use human waste and shredded tires for ferts, I'd believe him. lol, but i mean, seriously, who wouldn't? ....... :)
