1st grow- Indoor CFL's

WOW I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks. I've had way too many close calls with this box. People have gone in my closet at least twice now and I opened the closet this morning when my room was dark and you could see the light from the cab. Luckily my girlfriend was facing the other direction and I shut the door as quickly as I could.

Anyway- the temps in the box have been a little too high. I had 5 lights going (4 6500K's and 1 2700K) and the temps were around 90. I unscrewed one 6500K to see how things turn out.

There's a chance that my anti-weed housemate will be moving out soon so that would be kinda cool but it could suck. He's not a narc and someone else might move in that is. If he moves out, I'm gonna do everything I can to find a 420-friendly person to move in. I'm NOT gonna say shit to them about my grow but at least if they find it, there won't be problems and if my room smells like weed when it's flowering, they'll just enjoy the air freshener. Haha

So here are a few pics. Like I said, the temps were too hot and I think it's affecting the plants. The big one is getting some brown spots on the tips of the leaves and the lower leaves are yellow.

Here are my assumptions:
-Cab too hot
-Plant too close to the light
-Not enough water
-Some type of disease from the soil

I'm guessing it's just #1 and #2 though. I've been watering just fine (1-2 shot glasses per day). It could be the soil but I'm no expert.

Too close? I figured this was about perfect though.

Yellow leaves (maybe just because they're small/new??)

"The Runt" (I kinda like this little guy but I've always rooted for the underdog)

The Family (Never in my life have I hoped for this many females in a family. Haha)

Hmmm... I'm gonna do some searching on the site but I'm not happy right now. The biggest one is getting more yellow and the leaves are getting more brown spots on the tips. Could this be from light getting to the roots?

well i dont know if it kills leaves of not but the roots are not suposed to be exposed to light

raise those lights up a bit, ur burning ur seedlings.. also for a few bucks u can fix that light leak with either weather stripping or caulking.

it could be a few things

they are to young to feed but yellowing leaves is a nitrogen deficiency
but yeah bring the lights up about a half inch to an inch keeping them 2-3 inches away from the plants
also the bottom leaves (the very first peddles) are fine to turn yellow that's nothing
but also it maybe time to transplant your roots are probably cramped (resulting in slow growth, slight yellowing, and possibly root bound) the roots grow way faster then the plant

also try adding another fan get an intake and outtake what i'd do is put one on top of the box pointing down and one half way maybe a little lower then half way for the exhaust

The roots don't seem root-bound yet. SICC did a party-cup grow and has a 16" plant in the same size cup so I don't think the roots would be a problem (at least not yet). I'm gonna run to the store now to get some new pots and check out their nute selection. I read not to add nutes til 2 weeks after transplanting so I'll follow that rule.

I raised the lights up some more. I might pick up some S-hooks so I don't have to keep messing with wire tires. I'll let you know and I'll take pics. Might not be til tomorrow or Saturday though because I'm working a ton over the next few days.

ok, well def do that.. i seriously doubt ur rootbound though. Raise ur lights about a inch or two and double your water for the first day or two. it will help ur lil buddy rehydrate.

Well so much for that plan. My g/f's car was having issues so that took up my early afternoon. Then I had to work and I just got done and my babies are already sleeping so I'll have to check on them tomorrow.

I really hope I get some good smoke from this. I'm sick of buying this chicken-feed for $30 an eighth and anything better is gonna be overpriced. I'm beat from work and some straight up Indica would rock my world right now...

damn that sucks but yup always tomorrow and i know my plant is gunna be that "chicken feed" lol love that.. but i agree i hate the prices these days i had someone tell me he was charging 75$ an eighth i was like what do you think i am a fucking dumbass i get it for half that price for the bombest shit and he's trying to feed me some bullshit about it being med grade i was like ok med grade for me is 50 so fuck off lol i hate how much people are charging now that's why i started this grow but mine isn't gunna be that great of quality just cause of my many plants problems i'm trying to take clones before it gets to bad (i've only got one at this moment)

I love homegrown. My buddy always smokes me down with his and not only is it more potent but it is better quality because it doesn't get bricked and frozen and shoved in gas tanks and smuggled from Mexico. It's straight up sexy looking and it tastes great. If you smoke the normal brickweed shit and then smoke some homegrown, the difference is unreal. You can just taste the plant as it's burned. It's tough to explain but it's so nice. Way less coughing too.

yeah no joke 10 a gram is still a bit pricey

so do i it's also fresher making it more potent and less handled
yeah and to be honest i don't think i've ever smoked fresh homegrown high quality buds

i've had plenty of med grade (homeboys hookin it up) but don't think straight up fresh homegrown

i just hope my clone turns out better then my plant cause my plant is getting worse slowly

Alright here are a few pics from yesterday (Day 16). They're looking a little different today.

-The one that started the tallest/strongest is now doing the worst. More leaves are turning yellow even though it's away from the heat and the box temps are lower. I'm thinking maybe bacteria from when I germed them (read that it's possible).
-The "weird" one was looking a little droopy today so I think I overwatered it. I'll be a little more careful next time.
-2 of the other 3 have taken off like rockets. I wish I'd have gotten pics today. They're looking sexy. I'll get pics tomorrow morning when they're awake.
-1 is still a little behind but I'll give it a chance.

By the way- had a talk with the g/f the other day and she's a little cooler with me smoking now. She still said that she'll never smoke but at least I have a little more room to breathe. Other than the weed thing, she's amazing so I'm gonna keep her around and try to bring her to the dark side. Haha.

Someday I'll have to tell her about my grow but I have no idea how. I've tried to be 100% honest with her and I'd like to keep it that way but I think growing the stuff would send her packing. I hate having to hide this from her but I'll know she'll make a decision that we'll both regret if she finds out now. My best bet would be to finish off this grow and then show her my next one when I first start it and try to make her part of it (like she can care for them and water them and be their mom and shit. haha).

Unless you guys want me to keep doing it, I think I'm gonna stop posting so many individual pics. From here on out, I'm gonna take pics of the group together and any problem plants. I'll take individual shots for stuff like "showing sex, getting icy, etc". I figure it'll help these pages load faster and you've probably almost all seen plants at this stage anyway.

They are starting to get a smell to them. It's not really a weed smell but almost a pine smell. I can't really smell it except when I'm really close to them (carefully pulling off leaves, etc) but it smells SO good.

haha nice and good luck with that (darkside) i've been trying to do that to my girl friend for about a year and it didn't work she has tried it but hated it so i told her good for her if she doesn't like it but i'm not quitting

i also didn't even ask her if it was cool if i grew i just started and she can't really do anythign about it unless she really wants me upset lol but yeah i know what you mean my girl doesn't like how much i smoke (but i need it for my back pains, scoliosis)

but i also catch my girl looking at my plant and kinda caring just not a whole lot like me but it's all good i still love how she tries being sneaky about looking at them

but i'd tell her on this one cause if she finds out when there either bigger or even when you have harvested she will get mad cause you didn't tell her in the first place
