Trouble is, with overnuting your plants... esp. in DWC, is that you get large build-ups of salts in your media. The build-ups in your plants can also cause deficiencies in other nutrients.

This is why def' is so hard to call... as it could be over nute. You have signs of both. Your EC is too high.

Your EC should build slowly from 0.4 ec for seedlings, right up to 1.8-2.0 EC at the MID-FLOWER point (this is very dependent upon strain/phenotype). After the mid-flower point you take the EC back down again slowly to around 1.4 by the time you flush.

Plants can only take in so much nutrients at certain stages of growth.

damn guy, you got ripped, you got a rip off white widow by a shoddy breeder, and yes they are most likely ams's own version and you paid more for them from that company than any of the other breeders, even the original by greenhouse is cheaper for 10 regular.

Yea NGT I feel like a dumbass ordering from them. o well nothing I can do now! Next time I go with drchronic, seems like that site gets good reviews.

Hey Skunk, How could I go about converting the ppm that I am measuring to EC. I tryed to read an article on it but got too ADD and gave up. Never had to actually convert from one to another. Would bringing the ec down fix the problems I am having?

also, one more question. I have been changing/cleaning the DWC bucket every 10-14 days. When I chang the water and nutes I have been bringing the ppm up to 1400. two days after the change the plant has drank 2 gallons of it so I fill it back up with water. sometimes, I measure the ppm (which is lower than it was after the change) nd I bring it back up to 1400 with the same ratio of nutes. Now when the plant drinks the solution in the bucket, does it take in the nutes at the ratio at which I put them in the solution or does it only take what it needs.
Basically my question is, Am I refilling it right when I add more nutes in the same ratio when the ppm drops?

Well right at 2 weeks your media should have around 1.4-1.6 ec which is, in ppms, either 980-1120 or 700-800. I'm sure in the US you would use the conversion 980-1120. Has to be really, as 1400ppm on the other scale is 2.8 ec. So go with 980-1120 ppm at the second week of flower.

How long do your widow flower for, 9 weeks?

The ec in your res should be around 1.8-1.6. That's ,1120-1260ppm. sorry about that, my head's in space half the time.:joint::mrgreen:

THis is a first grow so Ive been told that white widow should be flowered for 10 weeks but now Ive been told that my strain isn't white widow so Idk how long to flower for.

I want more of an energy high with a little narcotic so when should I flower? last pics were from yesterday. Does it even look like white widow to you skunk?

I've never grown widow... there's a lot of sativa in the plant so there's a good chance of it if it flowers after 10 weeks. Although, it looks like there's an indica pheno' in there too, towards the right in the one pic, I can see a rounded off cola.

If it is a 10 week flowerer, and there's a good chance of it, you want to be peaking at week 5. so the ec of your medium coming onto week six should be 1.8-1.6... which is1260-1120. Go thelower end, because of your previous problems... which aren't really that heavy.

Doesn't look like widow to me, just their version of it. I'd suggest the next time to order from world wide marijuana seeds, you'll get exactly what you pay for, and from the original breeders if you choose. Greenhouse white widow takes 8-9 weeks to flower. You're flowers do look nice. I hope you can figure out what's going on with the issue. Keep on growin.

Alright thanks Ill do so and post some pics when I do. AMS says 8 weeks of flowering but everywhere else says to flower for 10 weeks and turn off the light for the last week to get the most crystals.

I have read that you want the trichs to be a milky white with not to many with amber color (around 25% amber) for a clear cerebral high. The more amber, the more couch lock.

Yea ive read the same thing! But I want a lot of crystals and i heard that if it stays in darkness for the last week than it produces a lot more within that week but Idk. What do you all think about doing that?

Hotter, drier conditions produce more potent trich's... turning the lights off will give you trich's, but they won't be potent. IMO. There are still two schools of thought on this... i'm on the side of light.

do you suggest me turning up my temp controller? would that give me better results according to your theory?

I do have about 1200ppm of co2 in the room and the temp is around 83ish. Could I bump that up you think?

I wouldn't turn the heat up, but by leaving the lights on longer you will get more bud (crucially), and also more potent trich's.

Maybe, you could do a nice mixture. For the final 3 days, hit them with 24/0 for two days, then give them 24 hours dark before chopping them. OVERDRIVE potent trichome production... what else can the plant do to protect itself from the harshness of the summer that has befallen it in those two days, then BANG, no light? It will need to protect itslelf, create lots of sticky trich's...

This is still something I am yet to do myself... so, you know.

By far the best way to create POTENT trich's is to use both light spectrums during flower. Red and Blue. Best bud ever...

That sounds like a good experiment nd I like it. I think Im gonna try it. So your saying to do that about 3 days before harvest? 24/0 on, then no light for the next two days, then chop it.

No, 24/0 for two days, then 0/24 for one...

The final few days are crucial for adding weight and density to the bud. It will be packed with trich's that are hidden well inside the bud... they've been there since the plant was a seedling. Trich's are a plants protection mechanism. So the ones inside, will not get harmed by the light anyway...

fook it, 76 hours light final 76 hours. Hit them mo fo's... lol.:hump:

What do you think about 24hrs of dark when you switch from veg to flower?
