First grow journal! using White Widow from AMS!!

What do you think about 24hrs of dark when you switch from veg to flower?

bullshit. a plant should be pre-flowering before you put it into flower. It should be mature enough, already with pistils.

I don't believe it forces the plant to do anything. A plant must photosynthesise to grow, and therefore mature. this takes light.

okay thank you:peace:

I didn't answer properly... it takes 11 hours of dark for the chemicals to build, that will start the plant flowering. This is it... the safety net is 12 hours. I regularly flower with 12.45/11.15

Those are some beautiful ladies man, i'm planning on growing some white widow for the first time very soon. Hurray first post! :peace:

yea they are the first plants I have ever seen so I dont really know if they are good or not? plannin on growing white widows eh? make sure they are white widows cause mine arent and im fuckin pissed off!

skunk, would 13/11 work pretty good for flowering because u said I would get more bud with more light or should I leave it at 12/12? Im trying to get this plant to perfection i guess lol

Well the minimum is 11 hours dark... so it wouldn't be advisable to push things too far. Go to 12.30/11.30. Even 30 min's will soon add up over the weeks.

I must stress however, that there is a theory that says increasing the photoperiod too much during flower can stress out the plant and cause it to hermie.

However, it's not happened to me. Sure I have one strain now that does hermie, but it only happens right at the end... and I always find one undeveloped seed in the bud. The other strain I have, doesn't hermie.

alright pic updates!!!!!!!! The last pictures were taken two days before these ones! What success in 2 freakin days. Trichromes are everywhere nd im starting to get realllllly excited! You can even see some of the crystals on my shitty camera.

Excellent, those plants are going to be PHATT. they are just entering what i like to call the 'FATTENING' stage of growth.

Watch them fill right out the next couple of weeks. Excellent job.:hump:

Thanks for saying they will get fatter! I didn't think they would get any fatter than they are right now i thought they would just be developing more crystals!

Hey, my first grow was WW... but they didn't look like that. I got my seeds from BuyDutchSeeds and would have to say it didn't look like Widow. I had one plant that was 7-8 feet tall and the other was about 6'. The taste was different between plants and the high was different too. Not having years of grow experience I was just happy to get some smoke and be able to clone without much of a problem. Someday I would like to try WW again but the seeds I have left over are suspect. I'm growing Skunkberry now using an extra UVB light source and still see a difference in the plants... but that's for another story. Good looking plants there bro!!

alright skunk, Can you help me figure this problem out. ppm is about 1150 now nd ph is about 6.5 so i added about 20-35 drops of ph down to bring it down. The leaves are starting to look like this throughout more of the plant. could it b a defeciency? I did not add any epsom salt in the last water change nor did I wash the res. because the plant is to big. Maybe Im just getting anal but I have no clue on what to do. this is the first day of week 6 of flowering and i plan to harvest at 9 or 10. Can this problem affect the final product if it is not taking care of?? Please help, you are one of the few that I trust on this site.

You'll lose out a bit on yield, but you'll gain in trichomes... not sure if they'll be potent ones... but every time I've needed to piece a plant back together (this won't be your last time!) they always get a thicker layer of trichomes. The plants defence mechanism goes into overdrive and produces lots of trich's... it's like the plant fighting back.

Yes it will live.

It seems that your slightly too high ph may have locked out certain nutes... lowering the ph would open access to the nutes... which you did. 1150ppm should be fine at this stage of growth for a 10 week flowerer... in fact should be spot on.

As it is overnuted this would suggest that the ec (ppm) is too high. How long are you leaving your feed before pouring it into the res? My truncheon works best after it has sat in the res for a couple of minutes to get used to the temp's. Then it's more stirring, and then I take the reading.

Also, it's not just the feed you need to keep an eye on, but also the res'...
