thanks for the quick response guys, I will leave the shell on for a couple more days and then mess with it if nothing happens. In addition I went ahead and added nutes but at half strength since my babies are small, great forum by the way, I can't belive that everytime I have a problem I can get solid advice from experienced growers.... last time I grew was so long ago there was no internet lol, so getting help was next to impossible

I add coco to my soil mix. I swear by it. You simply cannot go wrong here. Do not let anyone ever tell you different. Big ups to the COCO thread! Peace!

sweet is just flavored magnesium sulfate.
i got some Grape Sweet for free from botanicare.net, it was only enough to do a few plants for the last few weeks....... this is something i would never buy personally but i'll let you know if i notice any results.

my friend has used the berry sweet and said it worked pretty good in his opinion.

i have also heard that all those products make all your mj taste like cotton candy... they say even when u grow different strains, they all end up tasting the same.... IDK if thats good or bad but i will probably take a pass.
Interesting.
I sent away for a free sample of Botanicare's sweet but they sent me a bottle of Hydroplex:roll:

Here is a pic of my Coco coir pk at 4 weeks into flower. I am sold on coco!!:-P:leaf::-P:leaf:

Very nice again. I really like how the PK is growing. It has less of a stretch than the OG. I am positive you are going to get top notch product, however I am quite curious about the yield.

So here it is guys these pics are a week old, 1st week of flower, oh and of course my puppy he is 7 1/2 months old and 71 lbs

Notice the gallon of water in between the Jack for size comparison

I will post soon but I have to save my pics because I only have 359 left...lol

hey guys! i just gave my canna coco a quick flush and im just waiting for my seed to crack. then im off and running with my first coco grow. im just wondering when i should start giving them nutes??

heres where you're gonna hate me haha. I will be using Fox Farms Grow Big HYDRO, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. I know, i know...BLASPHEMY!! check it out, this is a redo on my very first indoor grow and i still have FULL BOTTLES and i refuse to waste them and buy a whole new line of nutes. i have read enough of this thread(and continueing to read) to know that "canna coco is engineered specifically for canna nutes to bond with yadda, yadda, yadda". i personally think its rather shitty for a company to produce a product and then say...oh yea ummm you can only use our shit with it haha. i e-mailed Fox Farms and they said the nutes will work fine with coco but i should flush more to prevent salt build up.

so listen, since its my first time it is mostly an experiment. if my plant doesnt grow then you guys are right and i'll get some a+b. but if it does...well that'll be sick. any help you can give will be appreciated. i just want to know in general should i wait a week to start with nutes? 2 weeks? and when i do, should i start off at like 1/4 strength or less?

thanks everyone! i love this thread haha

hey whats going on dude. i would not start them without any nutes. whatever i decide to use as far as a container, i start with about .5ml per liter each of the A-B.
if you would like on my journal post #43. i have a feeding chart with just the A-B from start to finish. its only listing the A-B because i wanted people who looked at my thread, that were interested in coco, to know that you can get good results from just using the base nutes.

but in regards to the FF nutes, if they say that its cool, run with it. just go real light at first and see what happens. and remember NEVER feed with straight water, NEVER.

Find a solid feeding program, read your plants well. I'm sure you could use fox-farms in canna coco or any other in that mater. Don't wait to start nutes though. Coco-coir alone has no nutrient value so you have to provide everything. As long as I get 20% run-off from my pots I have yet to see a problem with salt build-up either. Coco kicks ass; it's so cheap and plants love it!:peace:

I got another problem, I have one seedling which grew extremly tall and had its shell stuck over the leaves, now it has shed its shell the problem is this plant only has one leaf set and it has already gotten too top heavy and is now sitting in the coco. After reading around I have tried a few things so far to remedy this, first I am switching from 18/6 light to 24 hours straight as some say this makes shorter plants, I have also proped the seedling up with a few straightened paper clips. Does anyone have any other advice to fix this? Will this kill my plant or should it recoup, other than being top heavy it looks very healthy,

as always any help would be appreciated, thanks

the best thing you could do is add more coco and bury the elongated stem to the desired height....you can bury it almost all the way up to the leaves... ive done it plenty of times without problem.

WOOOWWWW!! it took a few weeks but i finally got through ALL 83 pages of this thread. haha i took a bunch of notes too which was a great idea cuz my brain feels like its on overload right now. sooo much info.

my seed sprouted in coco on 12/3 and i've fed twice so far with a 1/4 strength nutrient solution. seems to be doing very well even tho im using Fox Farms nutrients. i probably just jinxed it tho and i'll porobably find it dead tomorrow haha.

Lol you read the whole thing? I kinda of stole this thread... But from friends. And it was used just for education purpose's only...
