a non-believer though?

whats not to believe? the way those girls are bend around the light really points that theyve been grown right where theyve been photographed.

Well the one in front I had to rotate out of the way a bit so I could photograph the grow or all you'd have seen is the back side of that one plant. The part that would be facing the light on that one is facing the camera but other than that yes they form a circle because I trimmed them that way.

I even laid the smallest plant down when things started to get too tight around the light and suspended it under the light so I could get that little bit of light and space that wasn't being used and you can see the string still there holding it up in the pic.

Any new pics dude? I'm sure the plants are still "strictlyseedless" ;)

I just sprayed for bugs and they're sleeping. Tomorrow I have to suspend the branches from the ceiling with some twine or something because the plants are flat out falling over. I kinda let it go for a while but can't any longer or I'll end up with branches breaking off. One tore off half way the other day but I taped it back on with duct tape.

I'll get another pic if I'm not in too much pain after all that work. I have a bad back and it's really going to hurt doing all this.

Oh and these are not the seeded ones, that was the previous generation which already got an early chop. That whole batch just got ruined completely but I did get hash from it all.

I like it, you don't need fancy stuff to grow. A good light, soil, and water, preferrably rain water.

It just takes longer and the yield is a bit less, but if you're just growing for personal use it works just fine.

No room prep very simple ~$200 budget grow

One surplus 1kw magnetic halide ballast $50 ebay/craigslist

One 940w general purpose conversion bulb ($25 lucky ebay find)

FFOF soil - $50 hydro shop
Surplus 6 gallon buckets - $1 ea craigslist
Shultz general purpose veg nutes - $5
Botanicare flower nutes - $traded for but $50 would cover it.
Six inch fan on floor - $10 (but I already had it)

Extension cord to remote ballast was free, had it in the garage and was already broken anyway.

No room prep, no other goodies, not even a timer.

Anyway, aside from me being cheap poor and lazy what do you think about the return on investment?
honestly, i dont thrink the return on investment was that much actualy, when you figure in lighting costs, rent on the room over 3-4 months. you have to make an efficent system where you harvest multiple times. so unless you have clones to do a second run, your not going to get much on your monetary return.
$200 for lights, $2000 for roomspace, $500+ for electricity over a couple months. i guess a couple grand isn't that bad............. unless you harvest less than 1 pound.

im not hating on anyone, just stating a fact. unless you do multiple grows, this harvest will barly pay for your equipment......but it will pay for itsself, eventualy.

This grow wasn't planned, those plants just got shoved into that room at the last minute because I ran out of funds to complete the garage grow in time for them. They had gotten so big I couldn't allow them to veg any longer waiting and they just had to be flowered somewhere.

And the room is in the house no matter if I use it to grow or not... Doesn't cost a thing. Previously it was just storage no loss there. If I add electricity and everything but my labor I'm getting over a pound for probably well under $500. If I don't get a pound of good stuff I'll be quite suprised and that's not even counting all the fluffy popcorn crap or all the hash from buckets and buckets of leaves.

Seems ok to me... This isn't about getting rich just there's no way in hell I could ever actually buy a pound of weed but it's pretty damn easy and fairly cheap to grow one.

I bascially decided to post this grow only to show that even if you don't have all the proper stuff or if you barely have any stuff you can still grow a decent amount of smoke. If I had to I'd sleep on the couch and give up my own bedroom just to get this rather than buy it... Hello couch.

You want to see a better setup, more productive... Wait for my next serious go around but just don't hold your breath because it's taking me forever to put together all the stuff I need money and equipment wise and to insulate and seal the garage by myself.

Awesome grow OM, What was the veg time? Did you veg normally and then go verticle to flower? It makes me wanna lose my reflector on a future grow. Awesome job. That guy was just being an asshole

I'll have to tell you what the veg time is next time, this time they sat in veg for a very long time just waiting on the next room long after they had outgrown the lights and space they were in. They've been alive since around feb 14th when I dropped the beans in water but in no way would it ever need to take anywhere near that long in reality.

When they were seedlings they had top lighting but as soon as they reached a foot or so tall they got vertical lighting.
I started in ebb and flow with 150w lights then 250 up to about 3.5' tall or more then 1kw after they hit the big pots.

I am vegging out my strain choice from the current run. They will probably not be as big. I am thinking 4 feet or so. My veg room only has space for them to get about 6 feet, but the flower room has 9 foot ceilings, maybe 7 feet at the end? WHat did you end up yielding?

These long flowering sativas still aren't done, no yield yet.

I don't reccomend growing like this unless there's some reason you need to. Vegging takes too long and then in flower you waste at least half the plant. A SOG or anything would be more efficient but my state's medical marijuana laws only allow 6 plants so I had to grow them big and then I had to flower them this way.

These should have been flowered with 6kw if not more if you really want to see some weight and what vertical lights are capable of. It just makes you sick seeing half your plant wasted, trust me.

very nice... just goes to show that you dont need to spend $1000+ to get a decent yeild...
Except that decent yield is a vast understatement.

One pound would have been fine but I'm over 3 and still counting. That big wad that looks like compressed leaf isn't just leaf, I got so sick of trimming this stuff and ran out of jars so I just started stripping whole dried plants into the buckets and compressing it.

That's a nearly 2lb chunk by itself.

I stopped counting after a while and never will get a full weight on it now. Some has found a new home and several ounces of bud just got ground to dust to process hash from it.

That's from 2 rooms btw not just the one room in the pics.

I could very much use help with storage.

I will send you a self addressed, stamped box to help with the storage problem.

Now you got the meds to fix your back to finish the grow room to grow another 3+.

"Now you got the meds to fix your back to finish the grow room to grow another 3+."

Technically now I have what it takes to bribe other people to do the work.

:)

Now I just need to find someone who wants to trade insulation and drywall and the work to install it.
