Germ 101:

Temp + Humidity = success!

You need to make sure the room stays around 70 deg F and you need to re-wet the towelette as it gets dry. When I germ in a air tight media like a bag or tup it takes about 3 to 4 days sometimes a week.

I use the plate method and it works great. 9/10 germ rate. Take paper towel and fold it into a rectangle that is approx 4 inches by 2 inches. wet it with WARM water. place the paper towel on a plastic plate (plastic because it maintains temp better) place seeds in towel and fold over. press down on towel to ensure all sides of seeds are touching towel. place a second plate upside down over the first plate to cover. set plate on a shelf or in a cabinet where the temp will remain constant.

Then using a sprayer, lightly mist the towel as it needs re-wetting. 48 hours usually the case.

As for your current situation,

make sure your temp is right, and don't bother with the humidifier, you will need 100% humidity for it to be truly effective. just make sure your paper towels stay moist and if the lid is closed, open the Tupperware lid a few times a day for fresh air while maintaining a dark environment.

I have seed seeds germinate in spilled soda pop in the cup holder of my car where the temp had to be over 90. So don't fret. These little guys are pretty resilient and best of all they want to live. If what you are doing doesn't germ them in a day or so, change your method.

I've had the best germination (perfect 10/10) rates with with 50% soil, 30% perlite, and 20% worm casting for my last two crops. I know a lot of people swear up and down about pre-soaking for 24hr and then putting it into a moist paper towel, but the last time I did this only a few germinated and the rest were taken over by mold. It could be my fault, because I didn't check on them for over a week.

I feel like trying it again and I just got some free white rhino seeds from a medical store in hollywood. They're probably off a hermi, so fuck it! Let's try this again. If I mess up its okay, I got an order from Attitude coming any day now. I'll sterilizing these babies using bottled water and 05% Clorox bleach. I only soaked them for a few hours. I'm putting them into a paper towel, then into a blag baggie, then into a zip lock bag.

The temps should be around 80*F degrees and I'm to lazy to be checking the fridge so I'll just sit them on top of my mac mini. You didn't mention where you have it stored, but I hope your temp is good. The humidifier might being cooling the area down to much. When I plant in my soil mixture, I put them in 20oz plastic cups and I use the that stick-on plastic wrap to trap in the moisture. After a few days when I peel back the cover to check on them it feels nice and warm, so I know the dirt method keeps them nice and warm.

Great Idea, I will have to try it. Seems like it cuts out having to plant after germ. Will try tonight! I'm always up for new methods.

No problem man. It sux when people are not helpful and you feel anxious to find a solution for an issue. I hope you germinate these seeds and grow some trees! :bigjoint:

I just did my first successful seed germination with schwag bag seed and got 10 out of 12. I did the typical paper towel in a bag thing, but I added a second wet and folded up paper towel to the bag to keep humidity high. The temps warm where they were, between 70-80f. Three days and some of them were already an inch long. I put them in little peat cups with MG seed starting mix (5-1-5) last night and half had already popped their cute little heads up by lights out. I also tossed the seeds that didn't germ, grabbed two fresh ones, and threw them into some pots. I'll see how that does in a few days.

I'm also doing this before I try with some seeds from Attitude.

Okay 4 out of 4 of my seeds germinated. Only took 2 days. One hasn't fully cracked the seed wide open yet, but I see the white root just barely about to poke out. It's only a matter of hours, so I might as well call it a done deal. Not only did I get 100% germination, but one of the seeds was really green; I really didn't even think it would grow.

soak em for 15 to 24 hrs in plain water or the best water you got, tap should be poking out after 24 hrs then moist paper towel with mychorrizae and bam inch long tap roots in less then 2 days!

temp in my room is about 65* a couple of them cracked and i can see the lil white taproot barley its been 3 days
Nice. I just planted mine. It sounds like you got it though. I think the warm temp is what helped me. The moistened paper towel was very warm to the touch. Just guessing, but probably around 80*F, maybe even 90*F which I know is pushing it.

If you take photos and decide to do a grow journal, do it on wordpress or blogger. People here are just going to fuck it up with stupid comments and it'll get berried in a day anyhow.

Good luck to ya man. Grow that ganja!!!
