I've had the best germination (perfect 10/10) rates with with 50% soil, 30% perlite, and 20% worm casting for my last two crops. I know a lot of people swear up and down about pre-soaking for 24hr and then putting it into a moist paper towel, but the last time I did this only a few germinated and the rest were taken over by mold. It could be my fault, because I didn't check on them for over a week.
I feel like trying it again and I just got some free white rhino seeds from a medical store in hollywood. They're probably off a hermi, so fuck it! Let's try this again. If I mess up its okay, I got an order from Attitude coming any day now. I'll sterilizing these babies using bottled water and 05% Clorox bleach. I only soaked them for a few hours. I'm putting them into a paper towel, then into a blag baggie, then into a zip lock bag.
The temps should be around 80*F degrees and I'm to lazy to be checking the fridge so I'll just sit them on top of my mac mini. You didn't mention where you have it stored, but I hope your temp is good. The humidifier might being cooling the area down to much. When I plant in my soil mixture, I put them in 20oz plastic cups and I use the that stick-on plastic wrap to trap in the moisture. After a few days when I peel back the cover to check on them it feels nice and warm, so I know the dirt method keeps them nice and warm.
