gah, i dont have a ppm meter and getting one tonight isnt an option. some now saying fungus ect. the question is this: is 4 mls of micro and 8 mls of bloom in 1 gallon of water too much or too little for a 9 inch tall plant thats 4 weeks old?
holy crap, yes that's too much and the wrong kind. You need a veg nute, your plant isn't flowering and has nothing to do with the bloom nutes you're feeding it. Plus, only a healthy plant should be fed nutes. Your pH is dead on, it's an overnute problem. Too much of the wrong kind of nutes will build up to toxic levels and cause lockout of the nutes the plant does need. Just feed it with 6.0-6.5 pure water until it recovers and start at 1/4 strength of the micro, save the bloom for when you go into 12/12 and the plant is actually blooming :eyesmoke:

damn. more completely contradictory info. what your saying makes sense, although lots of people say that the lucas method of using bloom and not veg is far superior to using gen hydro nuts as directed. this seems to be as certain and established as a method can be from what i read. now the strength your saying is far too high? that makes sense as i have always mixed much weaker than that. but then again, i always have problems. which lead me to believe i might have always been underfeeding, since i have never nutrient burned anything in hydro.

but 4 and 8 mls is too much for a 9 inch 5 week plant? lucas method actually calls for 5 and 10 during all veg stages beyond a tiny little plant.

i mixed even weaker then people recommended as to be safe and not burn, but now your acting like thats WAAAAAY too much. what am i supposed to do? who do i listen to?

if the only problem my plant has right now is a mag deficiency, is a a better idea to run straight water?

i am certain beyond doubt that the problems illustrated in the pictures on the leaves is a mag deficiency. there is no question of this.

well 4mls and 8mls is actually NOT much off... if its calling for 5mls and 10mls you should be using 1/4 strength... being 1.25mls and 2.5mls per gallon or how ever your mixing it, and then work your way up to full strength..

I can't really speak about the "lucas method" because I've not heard of it till now, what I do know is, veg nutes while vegging = healthy, beautiful, monsters..

Also if your growing in a Hydro set up I believe you want your PH near 5.5.. 6-6.5 is too high, Don't hold me 110% to that I play in the dirt :P

I'd recommend a just straight ph'd water flush till your plant starts to recover, then start at 1/4 strenght nutes and work up to there..

:peace:

yea man...i had similar problems when i grew DWC. Turned out my pH was riding a rollercoaster and almost killed everything. Only question i have is why are you attempting to grown in hydro without a PPM meter and an ACCURATE pH meter? Im fairly new to RIU but i been growing for a bit, and i wouldn't even attempt a bio grow with out at least a pH meter. just my two sense man...but yea i go with everyone else sayin pH, check it, i bet you'll be surprised.
