He was just doing his job. He didn't mastermind this legislation, all he did was cave under pressure (from everyone involved, by the way - Congress, the tobacco industry) and put his signature on it (Congress can pass it anyway if they have a 2/3 majority, which they DID). Why would one of his first presidential actions be a veto that's guaranteed to be overturned by majority rule? It's not exactly going to show anyone who's boss if he comes in and says "No, Congress, I don't approve of this bill." And Congress says "fuck you" and passes it anyway?

I know we like to be free to do whatever we want, whenever we want as long as we aren't hurting anybody else. I totally agree with you that the government shouldn't have a say in what we want to do with our bodies, BUT- If we banned cigarettes, I would probably be the happiest motherfucker on the PLANET, because I'd finally be able to quit!

If cannabis lovers all over America came together to bring down the tobacco industry and replace it with a cannabis industry - I don't think anyone would be able to stop us. Actually, I think most people (who aren't brainwashed into thinking marijuana is evil) would actually agree that it's a fabulous idea. What do you think?

I dont smoke tobacco but I dont think it should be banned. Thats just as bad as banning any other plant.

I think everyone should just stay out of everyones buisness. I quit smoking by just looking and smelling the people around me.

Sounds wierd but make the tobacco grose you out. Once you get it to make you feel sick everytime you grab one you have pretty much kicked the habit. Candy helps to though some people hate sugar just as bad but it helps. Even sugar free sweet candy it makes the smoke that much more nasty when you go for it.

I was "addicted" to tobacco to but I blaim it on my self not the company that made them they are making a living just like anyone else they have familly I imagine and some have prolly died from tobacco aswell but its not their fault the person abused it.

It became clear to me that one day we will be living like cattle because everyone wants everyone do to what everyone wants. They do what "everyone" wants other then what "they" want.

We become sheep, not free thinking human minds witch is why we "where" the top on the food chain.
