Hey everyone. Just started on RIU not too long ago and i figured id join the thread. Been growin in FL are for about 4 years now. Glad to see there are more and more people doin this. Not to change the subject cuz im all about advocating puffmm, but i have a question for all growers in central FL. All my grows so far have been indoor but im dying to go outdoor with my next crop due to our great climate. However october is around the corner and im not sure that the timings there light wise. Im lookin to put out 3 purple widow clones. Genetics prove it to be a preferred outdoor plant, but can i count on the higher temps in FL to keep it from frost this winter or should i just wait till next season? Also, with the shorter days coming should i be prepared to go straight to flowering or do you think i could get some veg. time in? Any and all opinions would be appreciated.

1. What month do I put my plants out?
2. Do I have to water everyday or can they survive for a once a week water?
3. I have seen folks put like something over top of the plants, why is that and do you do it?
anything else I should know??? 1. Mid march to early april. 2. once a week can do the trick but not always try every 5 days if so. 3. A couple reasons I know is to stop scorching the plant, educe early flowering.

Veg them indoors as tall you can because you put them out now they will start flowering, but its still good time to put some out.

DAMM ONLY 50,000 SO FAR??!!:cuss:DONT WE NEED SOMETHING LIKE 700,000??!!!
yeah thats what kim russell said (President of pufmm) she also wrote in her email that this bill will pass if it gets on ballot . I hope shes right ,im so sick of having to worry about growin a natural plant that some d1ck munch decided was illegal. If everyone helps out it will happen. Right now i have collected close to 200 signatures but im going to keep on tryin. So many people are on this particular thread and there has been little or no response, anyone whos doing there part i think its great. for anyone who just wants to sit back and do nothing shame on you. They are the type of people that wait for someone else to do all the work for them . Its sad because with everyone pitching in this can go through.Anyone who hasnt needs to go to pufmm.com and at least print out petition and sign it and send it in.

if you have the room and privacy, you can build a small greenhouse and that will help you control the plants enviorment pretty much whole time. You can also order portable greenhouse online too. There are a lot to choose from.

Ive lived in Sarasota/bradenton for 6 years or so and now live back home in San Diego. The bud is awesome and the weather is PERFECT. These are truly the BEST two states to live in the entire country.

yeah if i had the yard to do it i would do a grow tent too. here in swfl its a lil bit harder to hide that stuff cuz its more populated so most outdoor grows here are way out in the woods

Started May 20th in 2 gallon pots. Now three weeks into flowering. Looks like an early November harvest

Clone Over 6 feet tall ALL lower branches gone due to pot head critter!

8 Top colas on plant topped 3 times. Also over 6 feet tall also lost lower branches to critters. Next time bigger pots and chicken wire!

The clone caught up and pasted the topped plant and appears to have just as many bud sites! Next time why waste the time topping and slowing the growth.

Lower bud site

Top of cloned plant with single main cola at three weeks into flowering, notice how the flowers growing from lower leaf nodes are passing and overlapping the bottoms of the flowers above. Thickness increased alot during this third week. (See pic at bottom to compare at two weeks)

Lower branch budding 3 weeks into flowering. Sativa flower much more airy then seen on Indicas which may be good given the high rain and humidity here in Florida

Clone top at two weeks flowering notices it is much more open than the picture of the same top at three weeks above.

I've been feeding them 10-52-10 at half strength once every five days and molasas once a week. We've had plenty of rain to flush it out in between.

I'm hoping to get enough of a harvest to last me well into nerxt year. Enough to get some auto flower varieties going.

checked my outdoor the other day and found about 50 little ass cattipillars spent about 30 min finding all those bastards and smashing them........a wasp came by and started to eat the dead bodies.....hopefully he will come back and protect my baby. when I was inspecting her for caterpillars I found a couple of assassin bugs too and I'm pretty sure those prey on caterpillars

Found a couple of lady bugs but they might be imposters? same as a lady bug but with no spots. any body have an idea?

i gotta make another visit and spray her down with monteray garden spray with spinosad hopefully that will keep the caterpillars away

Here's what you get if you start a bit earlier than that...

Thats next year for sure, I'll be starting next year in March

Today I spent the afternoon getting some larger five gallon pots and transfered them. So...hoping to allow the girls a chance to fatten up. I originally had them in pots fearing a need to move them due to hurricanes etc. Fortunately we dont get frost until december here. The Bob Marley variety is 100% sativa with the seed bank saying up to 12 weeks of flowering. We'll see.
