I am 100% done with 2009... Can we skip and just go straight to 2010 from here?!?!?!
Thursday afternoon I was in a car accident. I was sitting in a line of cars at a stop light when some 20 something girl who was not paying attention plowed into me at almost 30mph, forcing me into the vehicle in front of me ....
My vehicle is a mess and I thought I was okay. About an hour an a half later I started feeling woozy and had some mild back pains. Just to be sure I went to the local ER. I got admitted at 10pm to the ER... At 2 am they FINALLY saw me. I got X-rays and a CT scan. They found my brain in fully functioning order but the x-ray showed an anomaly. They sent me back to imaging to get a MRI. (I now know what tooth paste feels like while inside the tube.)
An hour after getting the MRI done they informed me that I had a fracture in my spinal chord and ordered me to remain completely still until admitted to the main hospital for a review from the neurosurgeon.
From 4 am to 745 am I had to lay completely still while waiting to be admitted. I got fed up and when my wife got back with my phone charger I called a friend of mine who has some pull in the medical community. After he got off the phone with the ER director they finally got me admitted at 9am. Around 930 the Neurosurgeon informed me that I did not in fact have a fractured spinal chord, but the ER doctor 'errored' on the side of caution when he couldn't identify what he was seeing. Aparently I have a congenital condition of a disk protuberance, which on the MRI 'could' look like a fracture.
From 10 - 2 I waited in the hospital for a second doctor to come visit. When he didn't show I finally found out that I had been written a scrip for Oxycodon and was supposed to be released at 10. I was in the hospital for just over 14 hours, with 9 of that laying on a stretcher in the ER. For most of the time I was under the impression that the activities I hold in my life were over due to a potentially irreperable spinal damage.
So that's 3... Getting dumped from a long term relationship, getting in the worse car wreck I've ever been in, and finally being misdiagnosed as having a spinal injury. I'm done with 2009!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope that everyone else is having a better year than I because I'm ready to curl up in my office and never leave again in the hopes that nothing bad can happen here. Sorry to vent but this crap has got to end or I'm going to pop.
MM I hope that things slow down for you too it just seems as if 2009 has just been a crap year all the way around for everyone. Is there something we did as people that is bringing the kharma down on us???? Or is it something in the water.. I don't know ...
I'm going to curl up on the couch and watch some TV and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, but I'm really sick of saying that!
