cops monitoring this site?

I don't know how dangerous it is really. As far as people saying there are bigger fish to fry what if you live in a small town where there is no crime? You may be worth messing with and who knows at what level of law enforcement is mentoring sites like this Feds?ATF? sheriff department?Local police with a computer savvy cop?Who knows really.Being overly paranoid is one thing but thinking your bullet proof another too.Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.Loose lips sink ships.

you'd be surprised at how bored the police sseem to get.

guy in the UK recently got a knock on his door and a court date along with that, due to having posed in a photo on a site holding a machete, kid was from manchester, figures, and the police apparently were doing routine trawling for people posting possibly incriminating photo's, came across his, and took the time out of the day to find out who he was and pay him a visit.

so as said, you can bet they'll be on the site, so just don't go posting any street names or mugshots :P

its a good thing i live in the united states where we can post and say WHATEVER THE FUCK WE WANT. unless they actually get a warrant from your posts on this site, they can not enter your residence without permission... if johnny law comes a knockin' you say "NO OFFICER PIG, YOU CANNOT COME IN" and shut the fucking door in his face. since our first constitutional right is freedom of speech to say whatever the fuck we want about whatever the fuck we want they will never be able to get a warrant from this or any other web site as long as you dont give them probable cause with pictures or by saying shit like "i live in manchester, new hampshire at 2938643 oak ave and i have 5 huge marijuana plants in my backyard come see them!!" so stop worrying if you live in the USA. if you live elsewhere.... it sucks for you. unless its canada or amsterdam haha!

If the police come to your door, don't even answer it. If you open your door and they smell marijuana, guess what...they are coming in with or without a warrant. Never talk to the police and don't ever answer your door. If they have a warrant they are going to come in, usually by force. Don't start talking to them because you aren't going to convince them to let you go. By talking to the police you are only going to get yourself into more trouble.

On dateline, they lure a guy out of the online platform and get him to come to a location...so unless you befriend a stranger here and sell him some of your dank at the park, its not the same thing.

They aren't watching kids, and think about the logistics of what you're saying : Someone that's going to investigate a small grow is going to be local to that area, so if they had the capacity to check ip addresses of the people who post here, they're only going to be able to act upon those in their area of enforcement. "they" just don't have the manpower to do that, and the towns that have cops harrassing people, aren't doing it online.
Very logical thinking for a punk j/k

If the FBI is reading this, maybe you'd be better off searching google earth for more kidnapping victims?

Chicago police don't even have the manpower to serve all the the outstanding warrants in their inbox, they sure as hell don't have the time or desire to search for possible petty criminals...

Article: Deputize volunteers to help sheriffs ease warrant backlog
Article from:
Chicago Sun-Times Article date:October 27, 2008Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, or have seen one too many cowboy movies, but I thought sheriffs still had the authority to deputize people.

Reading the Oct. 15 Sun-Times, I certainly hope so ["10,000 warrants, 7 cops; 'There's nobody out there knocking on doors' to make arrests"].
The article about the horrible situation that Will and Cook counties are having with unserved warrants disturbed me. Not just the fact that so many warrants go unserved, but at what digression these warrants are classified as ''important enough.''
I understand that violent crimes are top priority, but by Will County sheriff's spokesman Pat Barry's own admission, most of the warrants are for ''petty misdemeanors ...

In other words they don't even have the manpower to arrest the bad guys

to the poster that made a comment that cops won't come after you for a two plant operation... This is NOT a hostile post, so let's be cool... But in Florida. busting weed smokers/growers is a GREAT way for the state to make cash. I got caught with about 15 grams and had to pay a 350 dollar fine and lost my driver's license for 2 years. as for growing here, like cops anywhere else, even if you have immature plants, they will jack up the 'value' just to increase your fine and or jail time. Each plant seized after an initial base number of 25 will get you 1 EXTRA YEAR in prison.. Had i been carrying an extra 5 grams at the time, i would have gotten it in the shorts for a 'distribution' charge... guess it depends on the state you live in. I'm sure there is always some Officer Stedenko type, roaming this site, but i really don't think cops will waste too much time and effort as long as you do not post a map on your pics saying "Here I AM", with an arrow next to your property. good luck and happy growing

I used to have HughesNet satellite internet, and those IP tests always showed me as being in Atlanta, GA, even though I'm nowhere near there =)

Now it's a bit more accurate, but I'm still not worried. Maybe I'm careless, or maybe I just realize how much trouble it would be for the cops to track me down.

Using your IP address, they CAN determine your general location and your internet service provider. In order to compel your ISP to give up your identity, they need a warrant, and I'm pretty sure only a federal law enforcement agency can do this. Trust me, the feds have bigger things to worry about, and with all the Mexican cartels growing in the national parks they are PLENTY busy and probably swimming in cash.

just what I was going to say!! DO NOT EVEN OPEN THE DOOR!!! Tell them you don't open the door for police, but if they have a search warrant, tell em to break the door down. they will just walk away... Seriously, NEVER open the door. Just like a civilian has no right to enter your home without permission, the police are no different in the matter.

you know nothing of computers..

your ip address is your digital finger print.

tells them everything they need to know to find you.

its a risk you have to take :)

but i doubt they are watching kids growing a few plants.. they have more important issues at hand.
NO matter what you IP address is and no matter what they can dig up in pics is still not going to ever give them enough evidence that YOU are beyond and resonable doubt growing cannabis.

So they go raid and knock out the door of the IP address. Whoops sa daisy its a stage and the raid poor grandmas house on some IP address....right....that will look really good in the media's hands for sure.

Getting any type of conviction on a raid and bust that took place because of pics and post on a imaginary internet on some forum is gonna be a tough tough job even for the best of Prosecutors!

Moreso, if your property is locked, fenced in, electric fence, etc. it is considered by statue of law to be a secured private party/property in which they can not enter nor trespass, unless asked to come on/in the property by the owner or in cause of an emergency ( make sure no strangers go wandering on your property and call for help :)
