No worries dude...we can discuss our cabinets together. Plus, I like seeing what other people do.

Is this a bud site or a sewing site? My wife sews and never looks at the thing. It sat in a corner for at least five years being neglected. At least she's being used now.

You guys are killing me on the sewing cabinet bit...:blsmoke:

:wall:

awwwwhhhh, one mans trash is another mans treasure. Hope it does well for you!

It's funny though how I'm not the only one who recognized it as that.

Did a test run with no plants inside. Temps hit 95. Took of both vents (intake/exhaust). So basically intake is a hole and exhaust doesn't have to push the vent open. Dropped temps by 10 degrees. So far the plants are fine after a few hours. My goal was to have a perfectly sealed cabinet. That' won't happen unless I want big time ventilation costs.

FYI- I just don't see how a 4" fan can get shit done with any ducting attached to it...any. I realize there is probably some $120 fan that blows 200cfm but even expensive fans still do 50-70cfm just like my shitty one.

Conclusion- if you're going to duct the entire thing buy a nice 6" fan that rocks. 200cfm ish'. Then after all the ducting and pushing a vent open you might have something equal to what my POS 4" does right out of the cabinet.

Awesome setup buddy. ya get it all fired up yet?
Yes, she is fully operational...yeah!

Yeah, that test run photo a few posts up is basically what I was gonna put in there when ready. Got 15 clones in there. Three dif strains. Somewhere out of all of those will be a mother for each strain.

My thermometer says 85degrees. I know that's the peak but a good 80% of the fresh air intake runs right across the plants. They seem to be doing fine after about four hours at full power.

As days go by I will know more.

Just took about 15 cuttings and put them under the T5 flouro till they root. Somehow I'll fit them in here to beef them up before unloading to friends and a few dispensaries.

All in all so far so good. Bummed on the white intake fan. Looked nice but just wasn't enough fresh air in.

As time goes on she will get a few adjustments.

Thanks for the props guys. My wife was watching me on my test run with the light running...both cabinet doors open.

She says "look at all those shadows". I then told her to peak inside as the doors slowly closed...She had to pull her head back it was so bright.

"There's no shadows in their baby...good job." :bigjoint:

Great now gimme some sugar chick :!:

awesome cabinet! i just finished my box n have its also running 85, but i was wondering what is your humidity inside?
I havent started growing yet because i was wondering if it was to hot but now since iv seen yours and its growing plant i guess i have no worries!

check it out https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/227643-my-somewhat-stealth-setup.html
My humidity is what it is going to be...I'm in SoCal and every now and then it gets pretty fricken humid. Not to worried about it though. I don't think it's terribly high. I won't be flowering so I'm not too concerned with my RH.

The plants liked it too much and now even the added 1/2" of growth is too close to the light. new growth shows signs of heat stress. I'm just gonna have to mount the light flush to the ceiling and call it a day.

Hmmm...I'm thinking I might buy some cheap GE Flouro's my buddy recommends and stack em in here. Raise/lower plants to control stretching. Use the 250 MH for something else. Temps are a bit high...more ventilation would help...

I think some strong flouro's could grow some good mothers. I see it all the time. They get hot, but not like this fucking 250mh. She's a hot bitch.

Next mother box is a custom plywood box. Taller, more ventilation, more adjustability. This was a good learning experience. Don't worry, she will still get some use :bigjoint:

Shame bout the downfalls in ur cabinet mate. I recommend d Fluros. I'm using my cabinet as a Clone Chamber with Fluros and have them on chains so I can raise/lower as neccesary.
I havnt 4gotn bout our deal either, il post a link here when mine is done.

run some cfl's or a some T5ho's. I love my t5 setup I got from hg. I got the 2ft one that puts out 10,000 lumens. I does put off some heat but not like the MH you have.

Have a 4ft t5 that runs two cloning
chambers for this set up.

This cabinet won't hold 4ft bulbs and is 16" deep so I was going to angle some 2' bulbs at the top of the box.

Question regarding flouros?

How many 2fters will I need to raise three healthy and strong moms?

Can I use the GE bulbs, my buddy said GE has a decent flouro for under $15 each?

I don't want to put 4 $30 T5's in there.

Edit: I've still got tricks up my sleave for the 250 and this cabinet. I just won't fit under this work bench.

If you go back a few posts you will see I hanging the light in a sort of traditional manner. I bought some L brackets and mounted it to the top of the cabinet. Why? I was at the hardware store, had $4 on me and wanted to see this light work. Plus I had freshly rooted clones in Jiffy's that I just put into soil. Not ready for sun, not ready for 1000w system, but needed a place to establish themselves.

The L bracket vs the standard V shaped hanger has given me a few extra inches of growth. The 250 watter can give these guys plenty of light to grow into the soil so that they can move on to another grow in bigger pots and more power.

A basic upgrade on a little experimental cabinet. I will still probably throw flouro's in there to let the plants grow more. I don't know. It was fun building.
