How reputable is Jorge Cervantes?????

I own his bible and I'm glad I purchased it. I read a while back where someone pointed out some conflicting information contained in it but I don't recall it being anything major. Your buddies could to much much worse than to follow Jorge's advice. There's consistently good info in his monthly High Times column too.

The idea about humidity conditions having some bearing on sex of plants for example... Obviously not true and not one shred of evidence that it might be.

And then in the next chapter you'd find him saying something completely contradictory to that idea. As in the actual truth.

Cool thanks OregonMeds!!(I love Breaking Bad!!!!) Ill have to check that one out. I had a buddy tell me one as well but I can't remember at all what or where it was. But it was a pretty big one.

Thats true 2ez. Even if he is up to question. He is one of the main faces of High Times and so its hard not to notice him at first. I learned a lot from him and went on from there. You need to learn before you can question.

Jorge's books remind me of the old physicians maxim: Above all else, do no harm. There is really NOTHING in his books or DVDs that is strictly bad advice. Following what they do offer will certainly make you a better grower than following advice from your hippy uncle that shits in his soil for good luck. But there is very little meat to what he offers. There is WAY more good information online than in a book or DVD, you just have to be able to seperate the fertilizer from the bullshit. Don't drink the WWJD Koolaid.

Haha ya I have the bible and used to read it all the time. Its a good reference tool. I still use it to help when i have a nute deficiency. That section helps a lot. You do bullshit like Jorge that is the problem. You say he sucks but cant back it up.

I wouldn't put too much faith in him or his methods...he says that low temps + high humidity=more females? Well in my cab I had 7 plants, and temps would get as high as 95F before Flowering, and humidity would drop to less than 15%, and I STILL ended up with 6 female plants out of the 7 that I started with...

Very well put 2ez! Cervantes has been around for years. His stuff IS quite basic and I don't think anyone following his guide lines would be DOOMED to failure. And I sure as hell don't understand all the rant & diatribe that is going on here.
If any of you are so blessed with a much better cannabis cultivation knowledge base, then bloody well get yourself published! I eagerly await that outcome, LOL
