SS420's new hydro grow - Blueberry, White Shark, ChemDog, OG kush

top of the morning everyone... hows it going today?? much better now for me

since i've filled out the system everything has been great... the blue berry is getting to be about 18" tall and crazy bush... its really apparent which tops on it i FIM'd and which i didnt.. its funny.. but i didnt want to over stress it and turn it at all.. she's showing she's VERY much a girl.. and i dont want to risk it... the white shark, even tho it has no vertical growth right now is filling back out with foliage.. everyday she's a little bit thicker.. i dont think she will every get to where she was.. but as least the branches are going to be covered with new leaves... that'll help when it counts, flowering... but i wish she would bush out like before... the smaller plants are growing out well and bushing out great.. i FIM'd two of them just to encourage lower growth.. and super cropped one of the other ones... and lastly the sprouts are all taking off.. the SLH has some CRAZY sativa phenos... very sativa like leaves and growth... the tundras are looking good too... shouldnt be but a few more days until they hit their stride and REALLY start growing... the only concern i have is the OG kush clone... its not grown at all.. i tried to super crop her.. which may sound stupid.. but the last one didnt really start doing anything until i did it to her to... and also i figured it might stimulate a little growth on the lower part of the stem... just to get something going.. but today its still laying on its side... hasnt even attempted to start correcting herself... so i feel like she is a bust... which blows.. but oh well... this leaves me a couple options...

1) this is dependant on you MG, and whether you want a visit from the stork or not... but i do have that 1 autoflower dina fem seed... i have no experience with autos.. but am very curious... if i time it out and figure 8 to 10 weeks start to finish for it, i still have at least 2 weeks before i would need to put it in the site... which means i still have about 12 days before i would need to germ it... so this would be 1 thing i could do and i/we could all get some first hand look at an auto... i'm sure you would do the same for us tho MG.. so if you want it its yours...

2) take another clone from a plant and root it... i was thinking about doing this with a blue berry... pretty much just removing an entire lower branch and rooting it... but isnt it that the larger the clone the longer the rooting time?? i just want to make sure that there is a good amount of veg time (at least a week or two) before i switch to 12/12.. which i'm planning to do on sept. 1... so you think i have time to get it done??

the nice thing about the auto flower is i dont have to worry about the veg time... regardless of what it gets its going to start flowering after a couple weeks... it might be a smaller harvest from the 12/12 lighting.. but at least it would be something... but the blue berry clone would mean i have another blue berry... i just dont know.. to fucking baked already to think.. how long does it take blue berry to root TM??

the ezcloner i had is the one TM uses now.. LOL yea.. i hooked him up... still have a co2 regulator valve if anyone is interested?! anyways.. i am going to get a 60 site cloner... because of the way my grow will go i will take more clones at one time than the 30 site can hold... but i think i am going to try out this autoflower and see whats up...

thanks for the support bro.. its taken a minute but i think i am finally getting things figured out.. i did find out that the roots grow down and out the drain buckets and can constantly be touching nute water... so i think that maintaining a lower EC is going to be key.. that way they can constantly be drinking a little water and get flooded 4 times a day still and not have burn issues... but i will dedicate the auto flower to you bro... will start germig it in a couple weeks...

lollipopping is super easy.. its basically just removing the lower 1/4 to 1/3 of the lower plant right before flowering so that the plant will concentrate growth on the top buds and not lower buds that would amount to nothing... you just cut the branch off at the main stem.. they cuttings work great for clones if you dont want to waste them...

so i went to start soaking the autoflower.. i decided i was going to start germing it earlier... that way it might be done a couple weeks before the rest and i would have some buds... well it ended up the damn seed wasnt even viable... i barely squeezed it at all and that damn thing collapsed in my fingers.. so i went ahead and just started the last tundra seed i have going.. i figured i can get enough clones of whatever i want from what i have.. and worst case scenario i order some more seeds... shit just pisses me off tho.. the auto was a freebie.. so im not out much.. but still..

its been a while since i put up any new pics.. so here are a few...

the first is the blue berry girl she looks good huh?? 18" right now.. with about 4 weeks of vegging left.. she's a little droopy.. i think its because she could use a 5th flooding during the day... like she isnt getting enough water when she is flooded.. but growth isnt slowed at all... and besides the little bit of droop there doesnt seem to be any other issues... anyone got any ideas??

the next is the white shark.. she still looks a little sad.. but damn she's turned around a lot from what she was like... gotten rid of most all of the burn... regrown a lot of her dropped foliage.. although not as full as it was...

the next is the strawberry cough.. she's coming along nicely.. i think you can see the super crop i just did to hear...

after that the gigabud.. same thing with her.. she's turned around nicely and is starting to hit full stride again..

the blue hash looks kind of werid.. the middle lost most all the foilage.. but the bottom and top are ok... i am going to wait about a week and super crop her.. try to stimulate some of the bottom growth..

the last two pics might be hard to tell apart.. but there is a super lemon haze pic and a white shark clone pic... in that order tho...

the rest of them are still small so its not nothing to show off.. but at least you can see where the nute burned plants are and how they are looking....

plus there is a pic of the outside looking in... that way as it fills up i can take more pics from the same perspective to watch it all fill out...

trying to keep them nice... hoping things just stay on the up and up...

i moved the girls around today so that as many of the smallest plants were on the outside under the floros and the larger plants were under the hps's... the floros are about 2 inches above the girls they are over so i should get some good growth from them..

i have the strawberry cough under the hps lights in the middle row.. you can obviously see the height difference between her and the blueberry and whiteshark.. im not happy she is going to stretch... but she is the largest of the smallest so it was her...

i love how easy i can raise and lower the row of lights with my DIY light lifters... but this is one draw back to having the lights in each row raise and lower together... i makes it hard to keep the light as low as i want to... once the outside row of floros are raised up it will help tho.. they will light the sides of the middle row...

the blueberry the bcbuddepot version has been on average about a week for me to root in the cloner. 100%success in that manner. although ive been taken modestly small clones in comparsison to wut u suggest. u tell me howd it work for u in the 30siter with large cuttings? I find they take more abuse the bigger they are. the small ones tend to root faster, but really im starting to see different rooting trends in different strains, for instance with my afgoo, if i strip and lolli the cutting and make sure most of it is under the sleeve, i will get profusive roots out of the cut orgin , and the side branches that were exposed to the spray. and within like 5days. most my other strains including the blueberry seem to take a full week in the cloner, and only get roots on the scrape sites and cut. oh and slip u have my boys Dj shorts blueberry, that one i grew out and budded and it wuz bomb, but i wanted another bonifide breeders crackshot at the blues so i ordered from above afermentioned seed company..

Man SS looking good ..looks like everything is filled out and coming back to dark green.....one of my favorite colors..
well i hope u take backup cuttings of all those strains bro.. they all sound soo good. man i would be getting to cloning now think later, thats just me. ofcoarse in my mind the more sitting around ie back up wutever is all good. if ur budget is tight i agree follow a mg routine rockwoll gig with a dome and slam as many cubes as u can get in there and fill em up to the max.

im really glad everything turned around like it did.. and rearranging the sites so the smaller plants could be under the floros, and lowering the floros to only a couple inches REALLY increased growth over the last 24 hours.. so im really happy i did that...

that strawberry cough is one strong ass plant.. i super cropped her twice in the last week and both times she uprighted and healed herself over night.. i really think its going to be sick smoke.. its the strawberry cough from dutch passion incase anyone is interested..

the ezcloner worked well for large clones... the larger they are the more abuse they take for sure.. but if you are scraping the stems and splitting them still they usually can make it.. i would just suggest spraying them down a couple times a day of course... but i always had good luck with that.. the smaller clones do root faster tho.. i think its got to do with the amount of hormones the clone itself can hold... but of course the larger they are the faster they will grow..

i definatly would love to start taking cuttings.. but its all a mater of timing and space issues... this harvest is what is going to pay for my flower room.. so right now the only lights i have are the ones you see... which means i have to flower again with the same lights... so if i figure 4 more weeks of vegging so all the plants can mature, plus 2 months of flowering roughly, then thats about 3 months from now... if i take cuttings i would need to be able to veg them for 3 months... and since i only have the lights i have, unless i got ahold of a 600 or 1000w mh or hps i cant really do it.. not to mention i would have to veg them in soil, then wash the roots and move them into the hydro system... so what i have figured is this... about 2 to 3 weeks into flowering i am going to end up lollipopping... i'll use the cuttings i get from there to start my next batch.. i figure 5 cuttings per plant x 12 plants = 60 cuttings.. somewhere around there at least... i'm going to make them small so that if they do grow they won't be ridiculously big before i can clear out the flowering plants, get them done and the new flowering room set up... once the new flowering room is set to go ill move 12 clones of the largest producers into the veg room (the room i use now) and start vegging them for the 2 months they will vegg for, and take all the remaining clones and throw them straight into 12/12 in the new flowering room.. this helps in 2 ways.. it will give me a small bumper crop in between this harvest and the next larger harvest.. plus i can fine tune the flowering room with smaller plants that i can afford to lose, instead of trial and error on plants that are already 2 months old... then i can take clones from the vegging plants and root them in the same manner and repeat the process.. make sense?? any short cuts or ideas you think would work better?? got a spare 600w laying around?? LOL

and your right about different root times in different strains... crystale always rooted really fast for me... but the white shark took about 9 or 10 days... of course i'm using rooting cubes until i can get my new excloner....

things are good tho bro.. everything is growing nicely.. i up'd the ec in the res since there are so many of them now they should start sucking the nutes down.. i can tell when i get close to a nute change now anyways.. growth starts slowing when they get low on nutes... but all's well there.. and they are looking lush!!

i think the hydro store i am using now has an aero set up there now in back for demenstartions... i want to get down and check it out.. although it will be a LONG LONG time before i switch setups again it never hurts to look around

did the res change today.. i didnt have much sediment on this last go around.. which leads me to believe i was either mixing the wrong or just over doing it for what i had...

what i think as far as mixing goes is i was adding my parts together to quickly.. from what i've read if they micro or boost part of the nutes isnt given a good chance to mix before adding the grow or bloom part they can actually bond on a molecular level and cause excess sediment.. which also means there are less nutes available..

so what i did was to add the micro while the res was filling.. and once the res was filled i added the rest of my nutes.. making sure to mix the water up before adding more... hopefully this takes care of that issue...

as i said i also increased the EC/PPM of the res.. from 1.0 to 1.6... with 11 soild vegging plants im sure the need for nutes are going to increase...

i was sure to make sure that the drain pump was functioning correctly before leaving the grow room.. i did a test flood and drain... i think what was happening was during the change i'd hit the drain bucket and knock the drain pump lose.. so i made sure to check it before i left to keep things from fucking up...

the white shark clone is starting to show growth too... i still have 1 open site, since the og clone failed me.. i have the last tundra seed germing.. just waiting for it to pop up.. ill just let it root until 2 days before res change... that will give it 48 hours about to get used to the nutes before getting hit with the full batch.. and hopefully by then they roots will be solid anyways...

so i took a couple pics of the bluehash plants.. its only about 6 to 8 inches tall.. but the leaves on the top are fuckin huge..

sounds like ur on track ....getttn the hang of this res shit and ec. man i dont have a 6 handy quite yet. i will be replacing the 6 ballast and cord/socket set/bulb , but keeping the hood, which will fit the cord/socket 1000watter setup. at that junction in time, maybe here in the near future u could def have a 600......otherwise sounds like u have a solid plan. u have a lil edge on experience on me, so i know ur plans will work. suk ur constantly in remodel mode, thats how i feel, im wanting to add lamps and more footage which equals construction, i cant wait for the dust to settle....anyways hellya bro keeeep it up Rasta....
