Watering everyday a problem?

Look at my grow journal. I may be newer at this than you but I'm doing a pretty good job. And I'm a chick. And your kind of a jerk.
Having lights on an 18/6 schedule is good for a few reasons. One it gives the plant a chance to rest and focus on root growth. Plants develop more root groth when in the dark cycle. Two it saves on energy costs and three when a plant is pushed hard like in a 24//0 schedule it can lead to a hermie. It is not always gonna happen, but can push a plant in that direction. It's not to say a plant can't be grown in a 24/0 light cycle, many people do and it is very successful with it. If it works for you, then great.

If your cup is full of roots you are root bound, move to a larger container.

Not trying to be a dick here, but what does being a chick have to do with anything??? I know many a female grower, and some that are much better than me. Girls make wicked growers.
You should ph water though, it might help you have a better yeild.

sorry if this is off topic. You have a point. I'm working with clones with genetics that I've had for a while and come from a very reliable source so I'm not worried about the hermie factor as much. I'm getting incredible growth but it's not the genotype it's the phenotype which is why everyone needs to figure it out for their own space and genetics.
Cool, that's always good news to know you got good stock. Like I said it's good for some people, and you must be one of them.
I like mine on 18/6 just because I like to give my plant a chance to work on the roots. It's works for me and my girls love it.
Oh and no worries, 90% of these threads go off topic. It's normal. Things pop in your head and you write them down with the people you're talking to. It's all good.

I start my grow out with 24/0 lighting then after two weeks or so I switch to 18/6. The 24/0 makes the plant grow small and bushy. So then when you throw the 18/6 at them they shoot off light rockets and get taller.

Yeah 24/0 will do that for you. I don't really have a lot of stretch with my babies. Even with 18/6. That is genetics though. My Sativas do get a lot taller than my indicas. I just use all clones so I can kinda keep them to a resonable size. I just keep my mommes trimmed.

You should just learn to water them when they're thirsty. Their leaves will tell you when they've been underwatered or overwatered (because they'll droop and either the soil will be wet or dry). Also, yea, for every 1ft of height you should have 2X the amount of soil (in gallons) within their respective containers. Word ^wards.
