You have base nutrients (Fox farm 3-part) and then you have additives (like chaching, and overdrive)
Be very careful with overdrive. That stuff is pretty hot and it can burn your plants. If this is your first grow I would agree DO NOT use overdrive.

I suggest at LEAST one grow without any additives using only base nutes. You won't be dissapointed with the results if all goes well. Overdrive is specifically designed to work in the last 3 weeks of flowering. If you've never flowered this strain how do you have any idea when to use overdrive?

How are you going to know if overdrive was a worthwhile expense? You don't have anything to compare it to. You don't really need to or want to start going down this road. It's a very expensive road and it's not necessary when you are not doing everything else possible yet to optimize your conditions and push higher yeilds.

It's not like Overdrive is the holy grail, in conjunction with Bud Blood and Big Bud it does work very well and I think it's a good product, but I'd very weary of using "Bloom Enhancers" on your very first grow.

Good luck, and if you do use it, more is definitely not better. 1/4 strength would be the max that I would suggest. Some strains it will work well and others it will burn and potentially kill so take it easy.

Nuff said. thanks everyone. I wont be using it. I'll stick to my fox farm trio. They guy at the grow store talked me into, telling me it would double my yield, I was sold on it, now just a little disappointed. I have an idea when these strains will be finished, since the seedbank told me 8 weeks. The FI I have no idea, BUT its the frostiest of all, I think its gonna be a early girl. But being a first-timer, I'll take the advice. Photos following up on the bend.

Before,

After, will this slow bud production?

Definitelytook care of the height problem. Now she's as tall as the rest. Thanks again everyone!

Will that main stem become strong? I like to think fat buds are going to be forming, with it bent will it need additional support later on?

That main stem will become strong again. If it's having a hard time "getting it up" in the next day or so you can use blue painters tape to try to give it some support.

I don't usually bother with supercropping as bending it over (LST) works just fine. It looks like you did it right and you gotta do what you gotta do to keep the canopy even so you can keep the lights down. Give it a couple of days and you should see a big "knuckle" where you pinched it.

Things are looking good so far, keep it up. Just as a note for the future, try to keep topping and supercropping to the veg cycle as they do create stress and stress does slow growth. If it must be done in flower it should be done in the first few weeks during the stretch.

Thanks. Yeah I think the stretch is bout over. But yeah I had to do what I had to do, whats funny is when I switched to 12/12 that tall one I bent was the shortest. And its twice the size of its sister now? But definitely not as full as the stubby sister. They're all the same height now, and ultimately thats what I was aiming for.

if you don't run your exhaust 24hours then at the very least when they flower during the time the exhaust is off the entire house will smell to high heaven, that is assuming you get a filter for it as well.
AQNOTHER CLASSIC CASE OF SOMEONE WHO NEVER GREW BEING A EXPERT ON EXHAUST..................:wall::wall::wall::wall: SOME STRAINS DONT SMELLL AT ALL SOME DO......BUT TO THE THREAD STARTER LOOKING TIGHT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I have definitely had it both ways. Some strains I've grown I could leave the exhaust off during the dark cycle throughout the entire grow, some I couldn't do that after 3 weeks of flowering. Most of the time it's about 5 weeks when I start having the need to exhaust 24 hours to keep odor down.

You know it doesn't really smell right now? Maybe I'll try putting exhaust on the light timer. It would save energy, thats for sure.

Oh yeah, definitely. I have everything shut down at the same time. Avoids having LCD lights on that can mess with your dark cycles and saves energy on all of the fans.

Later in flower when A) it's stinky and B) I have bud rot concerns I'll leave the fans on at night.

Err... when I changed the fan to run on the light timer, instead always on, I must of pushed the button to off, light supposed to come on at 8:15 didn't come on till 10:00 when I got home. Fuck. I'm sure its fine, but makes me mad at myself. Will double check next time.

Made the same mistake yesterday on the timer... Going to post a grow journal soon. Very interested to see how things turn out.

Day 27 (12/12), heres my showgirl, "Angelina" my white widow max. All her clones died which makes me sad, guess she doesn't like to be cloned, I had no problems with the others. Oh well..

This one is frosty, again, wish I had better camera.
