YES YES YES. As long as u keep posting people in general can get ur IP. Google"How to find peoples IP" and read it for urself. I have posted this twice b4. IT HAPPENED TO ME ON RIU! SOME DUDE GOT MY IP ADDRESS, MY CABLE SERVICE PROVIDER, AND THE CITY AND STATE I LIVE IN. THEN HE POSTED IT ON RIU! Sorry, not yelling, but I've posted this 2 other times and it seems like no one reads that part of my post.

dr. dodge. cant believe someone did that to you. sucks man. i dont tell very many friends or much of anyone that i am on this website. and i plan on keeping it that way. why would anyone want to do that to you? it is so fucked on so many levels. anyways i did google how to find someones IP and i saw a bunch of ways of getting IPs through instant messaging and chats and i saw how to get a websites IP but i dont see how if you got RIU's IP address you would be able to get someones IP from them posting. see what i mean? you can find out RIUs IP but i dont think you can get someones IP from them just posting.

that guy that did that to you probably used other means to get that info. especialy if that person knows you personaly and not just from the internet. i dont think RIU would give the feds any email addresses. its probably in the terms of agreement but i did not memorize those by any means.

the thread is cool for the intelegent people that pose intelegent questions. in fact i am going to start another thread specificaly about whether anyone can find IPs through message board posting. i think it is an important thing to know if you live in the U.S.

my guess is that RIU is not hosted in the U.S. which would make it hard for the feds to make RIU disclose anything.

i just tried to look where my computer connects to the internet and it was miles away from where i live does this mean they cant find my house from the ip?sorry for all the questions just trying to stop the parinoya

if you want to find someones ip all you need is the internet. once you have someones ip you can find out their service provider and subsequently their personal info. this is called identity theft and happens all over the internet and is mostly connected with credit card fraud.

if you do this you are probably a dick hole and karma will catch up to you. dont post any personal info on RIU and you will be fine.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is ordering seeds via credit card, and having the seeds sent to the very address thet are setting up and growing, talk about giving a helping hand to get busted, seed places get turned over all the time, ''WHY'' cos alot of these places have links etc to weed growers, hell a place in the uk got turned over ''not for the legal seeds they were selling via mail'' but for the big dirty bass ass grass set up they had in the same building, what was the first thing the cops took from the address ??? YIPP THE PC, the big box full of information, please use your head.

they can find you by the ip and mac address of your modem. the isp has your physical address and which modem they installed at your house.
you can use a proxy to mask your ip but every computer process leaves a trail aka log files.
