Is anyone else having trouble finding soil with less nitrogen in it? Either it's plain dirt, or it's got a ton of nitro along with the perlite and other stuff.

I need a low nitro mix for my root crops. I'm afraid I'm getting all greens and no carrots here.

I think I'm going to start recycling my weed soil since it'll be nice and flushed into root crop soil.

ive been buying Hyponex potting soil at ace is the place. package says its just dirt, no nutes. i just accidentally bought MG pearlite with nutes though, i was distracted at the store. its like .07-.01-.05 or somthing like that.

i planted 5 of my strawberries in a 30'x6" window-type box. it was the last container i have left and also the last bit of light i had left. im gonna make my grow room bigger and buy either a 600w hps or 2 400's.

im gonna end up with more eats than smoke growing down there.:hump:

I have bought that same soil but when used plain it eventually gets really hard like concrete.

Root crops like 5-10-10 or similar ratio. I think I'm going to make a mix, 1/3 with nutes, 1/3 without nutes and 1/3 compost.

I wish the freaking weather would stop dickin around already.

good morning slik... just wondering, is there any special reason you are growing your veggies indoors??

you could always get about 3-4yards of topsoil delivered to your house.... probably cost about 1-150 and would be plenty of dirt to last the year... you can add some perlite and worm castings and make a bad ass soil:eyesmoke:

mostly entertainment, its also still to cold here in northern Ill-state.

80% of what i have down there is going outside in several weeks. but i want to try a few things full-time inside. i want fresh strawberries in the winter. peas, lettuce and maybe a few others as well.

i really want to try strawberries in a DWC. strawberries are my new obsession, most of my net-time is spent figuring them out.

i can grow the fuck out of some weed, time to see if i can grow other shit.

you dont understand though... when i got off of probation, which was right around my birthday, i wanted to snort some blow from a strippers ass to celebrate:mrgreen:... cant find coke for anything, so we ended up drinking... at the bar, i told kingtrip "id still rather be snorting coke off a whore's ass"... it turned into the joke of the night, with me saying that i wanted a t-shirt with that on it...

next day he emailed me the link... i couldnt believe someone beat me to my idea:cuss:... all the good ones are taken:lol:

i dont even do cocaine anymore...it ruined 3 yrs of my life BIG-TIME.

im one of those people who cant just do a little. ive never once gone to bed in possesion of cocaine, i just had to finish it.

but its been long enough where i can joke about it, and that shirt is effen hilarious.

props to those who can partake and not have it take over thier lives.

coke is bad......... just say no......... I don't think anyone has ever gone to bed in possession of cocaine, it's the nature of the drug, you have to keep going until it's gone.

Tonights grocery night, I think I'll add some leaf lettuce to my seed collection.

i have a couple raw coffee beans from Puerto Rico. super gourmet shit too, my pops travels there for business and had gotten to know some local growers(coffee growers, that is). when i finish my room build-out and get my new 600W hps(yeah, baby!) im gonna try growing them.

those wallyworld veggie plants make me want to start selling veggie plants every spring....$3.50 for a tomato plant in a peat pot....im in the wrong business.

Just sowed some seeds and put them under lights.

Musselborough Leek, Yellow Onion, Purple sprouting Broccoli, and two types of Cabbage (I forget the names).

Also got my seed potatoes today, Pentland Javelin (Earlies) and Desiree (Main crop (Apparently the red skins deter slugs)), will start chitting today (or maybe tomorrow if I get wasted).

have you grown broccolli before? this is my first time and out of a whole pack of seeds i got 2 sprouts:sad:

No, never grown Broccolli before, or any of the above to be honest.

Chitting is where you leave the potatoes somewhere cool and airy but out of direct light to let some shoots start before you plant them.

I've had it suggested to me to leave only a few sprouts per potatoe so the plant can focus it's energy on those sprouts.

Supposed to be a real advantage, especially for your early potatoes.
