Be careful not to overwater when they are babies because they can die easily. I usually just keep an eye on them and water if the soil looks DRY. If it is moist don't worry about it. Wait until it is almost DRYYYYYYY to water but keeping it moist is good too. Shouldn't be soaking wet tho. One way to tell if you need to water is if the soil starts separating from the outside of the container (like shrinking towards the middle).

I'm still a little sketched about this heating issue, what's a good temp for seedlings? It's averaging around 80 degrees F right now, is that too much?

I know I would be more comfortable around 75ish, but bleh.

Also, if I don't have direct cooling on my MH bulb, will it burst or anything crazy?

80 is fine...just dont let it get near 90 or above. HAHA no your bulb will not burst. If your grow area is below 90 you should be fine.

haha thanks man! I've been pulling hair trying to figure this overheating issue out, but I think if 90 is the threshold, I should be ok.

I was wonderin what was up. I thought I went through a time portal and you were telling me about some Blue Cheese that just sprouted... in August.

MAN, my humidity has REALLY gone down and I already fed them once (with a heavy spraying) in the morning hours of the light. It's under 20%!

Someone help me, I need to improve humidity and might just stick a bowl there to evaporate. Should I put it NEAR the plants of just anywhere?

They're fine I suppose, nothing gross or anything. A little bit of shrivel but I think it's just the seedlings growing and it's only on a couple.

My main concern is the lank grow of the seedlings. A few of the girls are growing thin and stretching, but I've got the light about 18 inches MAX from the top of the seedlings! :T

I think I might lower the light tomorrow to see how it works out, but I really have no idea why the humidity is so damn low (18%!)

I need help, is it going to help by putting a bowl of water in there or wah

These things need to grow foliage though, not this stretching bs, I tell ya right nah.

what's the deal with putting a fan on seedlings? I hear it's not good cause it promotes more co2 than oxygen, yet it helps with stem strengthening. Lemme know if you knooowww ty.

Yea a fan will strengthen them and circulate the air better. I would recommend it.

Day 10

Made some progress, got some mylar (crappy job putting it up had shitty tape) and noticed that my thai and one of my AUH#1 are really droopy and stretchy and can't support the leaves.

the AUH#1 can be salvaged, but this thai is pretty much screwed I think.

Anyone know the cause of this? I moved the lights closer 2 days ago and started watering whenever the soil seemed like it needed.

I try to keep watering down to once a day, a real good soak to each plant and that's it.

Temperature is 78ish and humidity is 35%.

Should I put the fan on the seedlings MORE so they create stronger stems?

See the AUH#1 (ma nigga)? I had to put more soil around the stem to support it.

You think the light is TOO close now? It doesn't burn my hand when I put it between the AUH#1 and the rest seem to be doing fine. Lemme know your thoughts brahs, thanks.

Light is 400W MH and it's about 8-9 inches away from the tops of the seedlings. I think that's a little TOO close for comfort, so I moved it to a foot (12").
