My Budget Grow. What do I get next?

I have a pretty decent cabinet. about 3'x1.5'x3'.
Ok kinda puny.
Here is my parts list.
- cabinet (obviously)
- 2 cfls (one is softwhite, ???watts)
- 2 bulb sockets
- extension cords
- 106 viable bagseeds :-P
- endless supply of pc fans and power supplies
- a few other odds and ends

Here is what I want to get.
- Easy diy carbon filter ($10)
- emergency blanket ($2)
- reflective tape ($3)
- thick weather seal tape ($3)
- timer ($6)
- x4 better cfls ($1 to $7 each)
- x2 buld sockets ($2 each)
- x2 5gal pots ($3 each)
- soil ($? what kind?)
- ?perlite
TOTAL = about $64?

So my goal before I go to get supplies will be $75 I think.

This is an expirimental grow mostly to see if I can contain the smell on the cheap.

Any tips comments accepted. I know this is boring without pics. I can post some if you think needed.

that will probly be your best bet you have a lot of space and if your going to use cfls youll need a lot of wires

haha tried this when I was 15.
I melted the plastic and my mom smelled it and destroyed everything. :wall: it sucked.

yea i had a grow end that way before i went to college.. god damn timer!!!!
but yea now that i see the pics.. cfls are the way to go.
so first thing id do is get power strips and do like this

That's how I had my first set up.
I had to tape the sockets in though.
is it better for the side of the bulb of the top to face the plant? or no difference?

those e-cono lights are no longer made.

If you upgrade to an HPS dont go with a 150. I have one and regret not going with a 250w or 400w. goodluck!

no there still is a $40 dollar econolight that is still made its in the flood and area section. and a 250 would get to hot in there. id just go with cfls though

yea sideways is the way to go.
I think hps will get way to hot.
Plus I do not have the budget. unless I steal them... (: anyone wanna give me tips on how to steal security lights?

haha if i had stolen some, they would be mounted on the ground......
i would try to refrain from stealing when i dont have to because even though i grow im not a criminal
but that wont stop me from letting you know how haha youll need oven mits or a towel, a hack saw and wire clippers

there is a khols near here with like 8 gigantic I'm guess MH or HPS lights. they must turn off at some point.
but how do I know what voltage they are? also where do I get the bulb holders?

one could just steal the whole thing ballast, socket, bulb and all

one should look for the orange looking lights

it would be advisable to wear rubber gloves. and just clip em quick unless you find the power source.
otherwise you should be fine just dont touch the metal part of the cutters

it would be advisable to make sure you get everything. try to find one on the ground in a secluded area. theyre alot easier. then just saw through the metal power cord protector cut the wire then take the whole thing

dude this thread will be locked soon enough. Stop talking about stealing...even though its funny and im getting ideas......grrr!!

$40? Buy as many CFLs as possible, a small fan for air movement, and a pH test kit. You can probably get atleast 6 CFLs
