word....i knew they were more for flowering but i thought maybe they could do the job for VEGing too, atleast until i go to the home depot tomorrow to get the bettwe spectrum CFLs....okay here we go
playa youll need about 200 watts in flower if theyre small 300-400 atleast if theyre over 30 in. youll need to sets of cfls around 5500-6500k's (daylight) to veg 3000-2700k's (warm white) to flower. you want more light to flower. so the amount of light all depends on how long youll veg/how big youll let your plants get.....
this leads into your question sampson. the cfls you have now are 2700k 42 watt bulbs. they will be great for flower but will stretch you plants. get the 6500k daylight bulbs the lowes in my area only has 23watters but they still work well im doing a new grow in my sig Growing in a trunk(feel free to comment ask questions or critique)
id change out the 42 watters with flower bulbs (2700k) and the rest 6500k. a rule of thumb is no more than a third of the bulbs can be the wrong spectrumso if i get 4 42watt cfl's and two 26watt cfl's and one long 20watt cfl then will that work for the whole process?????
well youll want the 6500ks to start them so they dont stretch but if you ABSOLUTELY have to use the 2700k it wouldnt be as bad for an autoflower. but youll need about 100-140 watts for veg and 200-230 watts for flowerring if theyre close together in smaller pots and like 150 watts for veg and 300 watts for flower iff you use like 3-5 gall potsIm waiting for auto ak47xblueberry seeds i want to do cfl's. im thinking of 4 plant under the lights! what wattage is needed?
and do i do the 2700k for flowering from the start?
your welcome good luck on the grow feel free to drop by any of my threads for ideas or questionsCool Thanks bro
I'm very glad to see information on how well you can grow with cfls instead of how you have to have hps and mh lights to get the best results. Since I'm really not that handy with ventilation etc. cfls are the way to go sometimes, and very effective. Thanks for this helpful information.your welcome good luck on the grow feel free to drop by any of my threads for ideas or questions
