Ok thanks man. But what do you and smokinon the curb mean when you say like 1/4 str and and all these 20 20 02 and stuff like what does that all mean and do you think i could get away with just puting the seeds in the soil and not put nutrients in it and it will still grow? i mean its only reg seeds i wouldnt think that they would be needing to much carring?Do not use any soil that has slow release fertilizer in it. Any quality name brand potting soil will do, as long as it does not contain slow release fertilizer in it, but there are numerous special mixes that do work better but then you can take a quality potting soil and add perlite and in some cases people like to add some sand and or vermiculite and they can pretty much duplicate the higher dollar specialty potting soils.
You will eventually need nutes but that is a LONG subject of its own and one with very varied opinions. But no nutes for about a month. Some say 3 to 4 weeks and some say 4 to 5 weeks and some will say even longer but whenever you do begin to feed mix a weak solution, like ¼ or 1/3 strength and then do not feed every watering or you will kill your babies with kindness. Seed have an initial supply of nutes in them for the seedlings to live off of so if you have a soil with slow release ferts in it and or feed your seedlings to soon you will burn them and maybe kill them.
Mh are alot better and if you have a small garden 1 or two is just fine. They are great for veg cause they omit a blue light spectrum. HPS if you want one (Iwould get two) 150 watt or higher anything round that will be fine. HPS are great for flowerin cause they omit red light great for flowerin.

Anyway, I'll probably end up getting a 600W HPS for flowering and MH (unsure about the wattage for MH) for veg state. How does that sound, Ole Guru of the Plant?
smokinHerbOnDaCurb, i salute you.I believe that yellow leafs are a sigh of over fertilizing so idk what you gotta do but yea gl man might even be over watering :S
Heres a newbie question. (this is all fantasy of course and none of this is real life and for entertainment purposes only)
3 weeks old white widow in soil only an inch tall and has second pair of leaves. Has t5 cfl's pushing 20k lumens 2 inches away. Why so small? Other than that it is really healthy looking color wise. Other plants planted same time have surpased it. I thought maybe it could be over watered due to a wick system I had set up. I know small plants do need all that water. Please help for this is a future mother and my only one of that kind. Oh yeah soil, ff nutes 1/2 dose/18/6 time changed to 24hrs.
Yeah man that will be just fine, You should grow some mighty weeds. Oh and sorry I dont live in california.I'm actually looking to grow between 4 and 6 plants, depending on Los Angeles medical cannabis laws. I hear you can grow 4 mature AND 4 immature plants, however I have read that you can grow EITHER 6 mature plants OR 12 immature plants... I'm a bit confused on the laws and I'm trying to understand them a bit better. Do you happen to have any insight to this?

NPK is the nutrient ratio found on most plant foods. 20-20-20 is good for vegatation 8-34-8 is good for flowerin.Ok thanks man. HPs is mostly for flowerin cause it omits more in the red light spectrum which is good for bud growth. Man cfls are tose spiral looking energy save light. Get a couple of the biggest ones for your splants. This should promote growth but I would go the extra mile It is worth it for some metal hailides MH'ssmokinHerbOnDaCurb, i salute you.
please, lend me your wisdom!
i need help to buy the light gear. i can buy a 250w hps kit for 79 euros, but when you told me about cfl's being cheaper, i got interested in that. to help me, just explain in what consistes the cfl's kit so i can search for it to see if it's more into my budget. is it a know kit like the hps kits? are they easily sold, or are they difficult to get?
your answer would be most wellcome
take care and keep up
I wouldnt feed the plants until it gets a little bigger. The cfls do promote growth but they are not as good as a Mh bulb. Give em time. Theyll grow and one watering for a small plant should last at least a week. Dont water until soil is dry.Heres a newbie question.
