Ok ive been researching this for a while, maybe you have some extra info i dont. Why is red so important during flowering. I mean clearly aside from lumens, an hps produces more flowers per watt than a MH.Does any one else need of assitance
I was wondering why this is, people say they use red more effeciently during flower, well how the fuck do they do that.
So im assuming it has something to do with phytochrome.
Phytochrome is a flourophore. Flourophores are basically something that absorbs and reflects light. THere are two forms of phytochrome. Pf and Pfr, Pf absorbs red light and becomes Pfr, at night the Pfr slowly converts back to Pf. Pfr however absorbs Infrared. when exsposed to infrared pfr converts back to Pf much quicker.
Okay now, Pfr STOPS flowering, so you would assume that all the red light that an hps puts out would suppres Pf and stimulate Pfr (during the day at least, compared to a MH).
Any help or ideas mate?
