If you have seen the seemorebuds dvds (you can watch them on youtube) and are experienced aero/hydroponic growers. HOW THE HELL do they grow without flushing the res at all in some grows. I think he said it had something to do with the system he was using but I could not figure it out. Im so jelouse....

Well in the first DVD he says a few times "The aquamist system is one of the best systems" "Aquamist systems are the most maint. free systems out there" and he mentioned the one didn't get flushed while the other 2 only got flushed like once because of the aquamist system being how it is. They are not much just spend your income tax refund on one :-P (if you live in the US that is lol)

Edit: theres one cool dude on here that builds them, i'll see if I can find the link. They are not the full size systems and dont use the same sprinkler heads as the ones in the first vid but they are impressive. They get the job done thats for sure.

It dont look like its too hard to build. :D

well I dont know I think I might play around with longer periods between flushes, but I think he might have a super res or sumthing lol.

thats a dumb way to grow as he kind of points out. some plants get pulled and so much gets cut. plus Im only using 1 400 watt light. From what I hear 6 platns or 30 plants I will have the same yield because my plants are going to be eating up all my light.
my apologies. i certainly didn't mean to inflame your thread. for future reference, insults are unnecessary, especially when you have the facts incorrect. actually, the narrator in the "See More Buds Vol. 1" video states that the aquamist is the most efficient way to grow. are you getting 6 lbs. from a 4' x 6' grow space, player? ;-)

sorry did not mean to insult. you are right he says its an amazing system. he is talking about how you never have to flush it tho and about how easy it is. That is what initially started this thread lol.

Im going to use a 6 site grow in a rubbermaid, but I dont know how I am going to change the res with 6 budded plants on top of it.

Easy. Install a bulkhead on the side up high. Attach PVC to the manifold and attach it to bulkhead. On the out side of bulkhead install a ball valve. During normal operation, valve a closed. Need to drain? Attach hose to valve and open it up.

that still sounds like it would be a pain and I would have to move my plants because I would need to tip it over wouldn't I? Im just worried about damaging the roots and stressing the plants.

Just put a little fish tank pump in the res, plug it in when you want to drain it.

You want it to clean itself? Jeez.

You want it clean? Fill with pure water a couple times after the nutes are pumped out.

You want to completely drain it? Mount the res on a 6" stand. Place bulkhead into corner on bottom. Attach pump that can run externaly to the outside of bulkhead via pumps intake. Add valve on pump discharge. Attach hose to valve. Open valve turn on pump, dump 2 gallons in once empty to wash out bottom.

Im still worried about moving my plants. What should I do? will I be able to drain it without moving my plants to much and the same for filling. I DO NOT want to stress my plants out lol.

evan if i had I dran plug wouldnt i need to lift and tilt my res to drain it all and wouldnt I need to lift the lid to pour more in. I jus dont like moving plants lol. sorry to make this more complicated then It probbably needs to be.

ya wouldn't need to open the lid to fill, just drill a 1/2" hole in the lid (you can keep it small and insert a funnel for filling) or lift out one pot.

thank you man... I think I got a good picture of how I can do it now. I think Im going to apoxy a funnel to the top and make a cover for it. Also make a drain just above the water level and tip the rubber maid while lifting up the plants. I hope they dont get tangled on my pvc or pump. I suppose those can be lifted to but it might be a 2 person job.

I should also do it in green or no light shouldnt I?

ps. sorry for the insult. I think I was mad at my gf and took it out on you : P. that build poots out a lot of pot.

to drain, ya really don't need to tilt until the very end (if you put the plug low enough). also, you can add clear tubing up the side to monitor your res level, for a totally closed lid operation. :peace:
